I usually don’t think much of video game soundtracks, but Velocity had a great one, and presumably its Vita successor, Velocity Ultra (released this week in Europe, probably next week in NA), has a great one as well. You can now buy it at a variety of online music stores.

While much of the focus is on FuturLab’s upcoming Velocity HD, releasing soon (perhaps even this week in Europe), Coconut Dodge, their first game, is also receiving an upgrade for the Vita. It has a less mysterious release date—June 5th, at least in Europe.

Velocity is easily one of the top ten Minis released, probably in the top five, and as you probably know, it’s getting an enhanced port on the Vita, due May 15th.
Hopefully it’s a trend we will see more of. There were a lot of great games that were overlooked simply because they were Minis.

Not a surprise, but well deserved (though I would have picked BreakQuest: Extra Evolution). Velocity will go on sale for $3.49 instead of its usual $4.99, and only $2.44 if you have PS+.

In today’s world of remakes, HD re-releases, and ripoffs, I sometimes wonder whether it’s really true that all games deserve another chance. A quick look at the Minis selection tells me that we’re perhaps beating a dead horse. Haven’t we played enough match-3 games? How many versions of solitaire until we perfect the genre? When [...]
