Controls? Top 3 classes? How awful is the music?
I know it's been patched but do you still encounter bugs and glitches sometimes?
thx

NO! DNT BUY. hear my call, the game is very (fuzzy) the characters are almost inside fog, the menu is horrible, it sometimes crashes and freezes, and it still have slowdowns.
Wont buy dood. if you love rpg's or zelda like games, (Buy: CLADUN)
CLADUN is very nice, lots of stuff to do, and it have a very high replay value, i buyed it on October, and i cant finish it! this means it gameplay is about 5-6 months to get trough the game. and to get the (RIP - HERO - DEATH) Special class weapons, you need a lot of luck (1/1000) and to finish the game at 100% you might play for a whole year!, you can play with up to 10-12 characters, (Plus the ones you create, i have a sephirot).
And when you reach lvl 99, you can choose to change the class and start over with that class at lvl, and with your stats reduced to 75%.
So if you are searching for a great music, gameplay, longetivity (The secret to make your games last longer, and satisfy your needs), and With NO BUGS OR FREEZES, buy cladun, if you already have it, then dont buy zenonia, please hear me, i've lost
$6.99
And i hated zenonia, very ugly game, even IGN given a 5.0 to the game and psp minis given him a 6.0. even patched. so save your money, dont buy (BS!)
First of all Zenonia is an awesome game. The PSP Minis review was before the patch and they havent re-reviewed it yet. Granted, I thought $6.99 was a little high. But after playing for just a little bit I realized it was well worth it. The game no longer has any issues with freezes or bugs. Also, the game is not "Fuzzy". Not sure what z3tz3r
meant by that. Sure Cladun is awesome, but its 20 bucks. If you want a great RPG for 7 bucks, go with Zenonia. There are also some older posts about it you can check out.
I havn't played the patched version but I liked it before the patch. I didn't think the game waas "fuzzy" either.
I'm not sure what game z3tz3r was playing, but Zenonia wasn't even as bad as he's saying before the patch, let alone now!
It's kind of unfair that they re-reviewed Ace, but not Zenonia, but whatever, I'll give you as much info as I can.
It has three classes to choose from, Paladin, Assassin, and Warrior. Paladin, which is what I use, puts the focus on a combination of attacks and magic that heal, do damage, and cause status ailments. The Assassin, puts the focus on speed. The Warrior is all about beating your foes with power. I've yet to use the Assasin and Warrior, so someone else here will have to fill you in on their skills.
Since the patch, I have yet to run into any problems. The game runs extremely smooth. As far as the menu being "horrible", I think I remember you saying you owned Zenonia 2 on your Android device, the menu and the look of the game for that matter, is basically the same. Zenonia 2 looks more polished, as it should seeing as it's a sequal. I don't know if the freezing when you combine items was fixed or not, I never bothered with it, but maybe Balrog, or someone else can answer that for you.
Also the patch swapped the controls, so it feels more natural to play, X is now the select/attack button, O is to cancel. So that was a cool fix.
I say, if you like Zelda type RPG's, go for it. Especially if you liked Zenonia 2, it's the same format with some features stripped away.
If I sound like I'm dismissing your opinion or if I offended you, z3tz3r, I apologize.
Just to go off-topic briefly...
And when you reach lvl 99, you can choose to change the class and start over with that class at lvl, and with your stats reduced to 75%.
Sorry, but err you can class change starting at level 10 :P
Now, back to your scheduled thread posting...
If you like action rpgs with a story, it's not bad considering the price.
I have tried this one, but I regret purchasing it. I think I shall stick with Cladun.
I have a question for anyone who bought the game in a non EU territory.
What ‘Version’ does the game say it is?
The copy I downloaded says ‘Version 1.0’, even though it should have been updated (and it probably is… though I sill haven’t had a chance to play it… I’m STILL playing Dungeon Explorer). ;)
Version 1.10
By the way, I don't see a review for the minis version on IGN, not the NA IGN anyway. There's 1 press review of 6.0, which if you follow the links, will put you at the review here, which was written before the patch.
Hey, thanks for the answer Ofaliss... guess it must just be an oversight. ;)
P.S. No review on EU version (if indeed there even is one) of IGN ether, just the link you mentioned to the review on this site… thanks again for the info man.
I decided not to purchase it. Even if it is free. It's too much a waste of my time. And I am currently collecting rpg UMD's anyways: Ys oath in felghana, ys seven, jeanne d'arc
Rpg's I am gonna buy: the 3rd birthday, valkyria chronicles 3, tactics ogre let us cling together and ys 1 and 2 chronicles.
I rather pay more for a good game than paying less for a bad game. I don't find that minis are made to be rpg's. I play minis if I wanna play for a short period.
i win! :P he wot buyed. but nvm.
*A noob says* -No you didn't win, it's an empty victory-
stfu. And i mean the image quality of zenonia isn't smooth, as cladun one.
GOT IT? i must explain it again? awww dont get mad, just tell me if i need to re-reexplain it. ok?
@pspgamer01
Obviously its game to z3tz3r whether or not you buy this game, and I guess he "won" as he puts it. Whatever. Zenonia is still a great mini and its just that: a mini. It shouldnt really be compared to Cladun. I just think for 7 bucks, Zenonia is a steal.
@Ofallis
I have yet to play the patched version for more than 5 mins :p So I don't know about the item combine : /
@ChaosRandom
I personally think Zenonia should be $4.99 not $6.99. But maybe the patched version is worth that. I've played around 2O hours in Zenonia so its almost $1 per 3 hours.
If the game hadn't been ported so badly from the start, it would show up on the top 10 on a regular basis in my opinion. It just sucks that bad porting and word of mouth, has kept this game from getting the love it deserves.
It was never a competition for a sale, that's just asinine.
z3tz3r didn't win. the fact that I am not gonna buy it has nothing to do with z3tz3r opinion about the game. I know what this game is like. I got zenonia 2 on my phone but I barely play. Maybe I shouldn't have said that zenonia is a bad game. I just play minis in short bursts and 10 hours at max in total.
I figured you probably wouldn't get it pspgamer01. You were on the fence about it for a while.
@ Balrog
I've got to find time to finish it. Everytime I try to, I end up with a new game I have to play and Zenonia never gets finished.
@Balrog
I do agree with you on the price.
I play it pretty often I guess. I have one seal to go. Not sure how much longer to the finish.
@ChaosRandom
What's your current level? Hellboy was the one I was trying to beat to the finish, but he seems to be off somewhere fighting evil.
@Ofaliss
I'm a lvl 44 assassin. I haven't been in a hurry to finish though. I just got to Leo. And I'm 100% evil right now. How's yours going?
lvl 61 good Paladin. I've been in Leo for a while, but from what I can tell from everyone using Assassins, it's easier to beat higher lvl enemies because your evasion is so high. Paladin's struggle a bit with that, so I have to stick around in areas longer, to get stronger.
I may set aside some time on my days off to at least protect the next seal. I doubt I'll find the time to beat it though.
I grinded to lvl 53 last night. Do you seem to have trouble finding really good gear? I have some ok stuff, but nothing that I would consider end game gear. Also, unless I'm just missing it, I never see my Parole use her buffs. Howa bout your's?
I usually come across the more expensive items from shops, with added effects when I beat monsters. I've never seen the little fairy use buff on me either.
I protected the last seal. The boss is extremely easy compared to the monsters you fight to get to him. I'm pretty sure I'm headed to fight the final boss now, but the monsters in that dungeon start out at lvl 71 and I'm barely beating them one at a time. I have to do a little grinding before I can move on.
You know what? You guys make me want to play Zenonia again. But I still need to beat VC2 and FF:D :( Too many RPGs!
p.s. My gravatar dissapeared after I changed my e-mail :( Maybe I should change it?
Are you playing the patch? I haven't had a freeze yet.
The release in the UK is still as buggy as hell - and given that it was released well post-american patch (several months later in fact) I can only assume that it's the patched version. The game freezes, regularly skips as things move, and amusingly sometimes the fade/vanish trick most rpgs employ to exit characters from a scene doesn't work, meaning we get a fade out/in and THEN the sprites vanish. The game IS fun, if somethat of a grind-fest, but if you're not willing to put up with some serious flaws then don't touch it. The fact that (at least over here) you can buy Grandia for a couple more pounds on the PSOne store puts its value for money to shame.
I do like it, and have played it a lot both on PS3 and PSP (one version Assassin Dark, the other Warrior Light) but do think that it's a shoddy conversion.
@ChaosRandom
It should be (in fact it F*ckin' better be!!!) though it always seems to freeze on some of the cut-sceens... and yes Grandia is just few more quid... but it's (although great) a different kind of game. A closer game would be Alundra (still not that close... but much closer than Grandia). What can I say... I love my 'Action RPG's'. :D
;)
@thumbbandit
That's weird. Mine hasn't messed up one time since the fix. Maybe its just luck. I think I'm at the end with my lvl 60ish dark assasin.
