I'm glad I didn't know about them until a few days ago!

I haven't seen Sky Crawlers yet. But I plan on it. Honestly, even though I love anime, there is still ALOT I haven't seen. It wasn't until recently I decided to really work towards a collection, as you can probably tell from my recent posts. There are a lot of good movies and collections that are cheaper than dirt now, and I'm going to capitalize on it. If only the cost of a big shelf for my DVDs wasn't so hard for someone as cheap as me to swallow.

. . . I have shelves, but space requirements still demand a need to have a DVD/BD *ahem* pile on the floor.

I have drawers full of DVDs that get downgraded from shelf status whenever I get new more interesting things.

Just watched all of Mouse... It blows! I vaguely remembered it not being that good of a show, but it's much worse now. It got better when Woof came on the scene, but by then the series was basically over.

It also did the one thing I never thought was possible, it made fan service unappealing. From now on if I hear an anime features fan service I'll think, "I hope it's not Mouse like fan service.".

While I don't usually go into this thread, (never really) they just unveiled a new comedic Star Wars animated tv show. And seeing as I love almost everything Star Wars, I'm excited. :-)

Robot Chicken creators Seth Green and Matt Senreich, joined by their collaborator Todd Grimes, finally unveiled footage and details on the upcoming new animated series Star Wars: Detours at Star Wars Celebration VI today.

Hehe, bizarre indeed. I actually saw that last week on the PS3's Store and thought, "What in the . . . ?"

I watched the free episode of Shakugan no Shana (I wager most Americans mispronounce that first word; why didn't Geneon translate the title for localization?), and it was quite interesting. Maybe I should open up my DVDs of the series already. All I've opened of it so far, years ago, was the OST CD that came bundled with Volume 1. Unique tone, much different from the composer's other work (Kow Otani, also composer of Gundam W, Daphne in the Brilliant Blue, the second Tenchi Muyo movie, and Shadow of the Colossus).

Speaking of music, remember that crazy ending theme for Dragon Half? It (and the rest of the show's music) was composed by Kouhei Tanaka, whom you know from his work in Gravity Rush and Resonance of Fate. He's also the composer for Sega's hit Sakura Taisen series, as well as anime works including G Gundam, several Yuusha series, and One Piece (one of two composers on OP).

Crunchyroll is reporting, by the way, that Neptunia is getting an anime series. :) There's an announcement in Dengeki PlayStation magazine this week (this week is also when the newest Neptunia game releases).

Wow. I had no idea the same person worked on the music for Gravity Rush and Resonance of Fate. I may not have enjoyed Gravity as much as I had hoped, but the soundtrack was one of the most enjoyable things about it. I also really love Resonance's soundtrack. By the way, if you haven't played that you really should.

Crunchyroll is reporting, by the way, that Neptunia is getting an anime series.

Cool. I still need to buy the second Neptunia game. Isn't there suppose to be a Senran Kagura anime in the works?

I just ordered the Aquarian Age complete collection. The trailer made it seem pretty cool, especially since it was only $9.97 including shipping.

My copies of Palabor 1 & 2 finally arrived. Along with Madlax.

I see that they are numbered, but my question is, is there really only 10,000 copies of each movie?

Er, I don't know. Haven't heard about that, though I know a second game is releasing soon.

I never heard anything to doubt it. I'd say the original price scared a lot of potential buyers away, though, hence the overstock even with so few. Incidentally, my movie #1 is a higher number than yours, but my movie #2 is a lower number than yours.

I know about Senran Kagura Burst. I don't like to think about the games since I know I'll never get to play them. But an anime has a better chance of being seen here.

I saw an episode of a documentary program, Cool Japan, on NHK World recently which presented a few elements of Akihabara culture (maid cosplay, idol cafe, customizable dolls, electronic parts market) and discussed it among a group of 8 or so foreigners (I remember 1 Norwegian, 1 Italian, 1 American, 1 Brit, 1 Singaporean, 1 New Zealander--a woman who seemed quite anti-otaku--and 1 girl from a country I forgot, all of whom spoke English). One element which really caught my attention was that at least 2 pieces of music from Cowboy Bebop, including the opening title "Tank!", were used as background music in the episode.

Persona 4: The Animation Collection 1 comes out in a few weeks. I'll probably have blown my media budget by then, but luckily it comes out the week I get paid, so I'll at least get to order it the week it comes out!

I'm not going to watch it until after I finish Persona 4: Golden, so It's going to be a LONG time since the game doesn't even come out until November.

RightStuf.com　is selling some Viz and Warner anime for really cheap right now (e.g., Naruto, Bleach, Inuyasha). I decided to see what Shippuden was like and got the $13 first box set.

By the way, Kouhei Tanaka was only one of two composers on Resonance of Fate. I was playing my mini-soundtrack CD from the game and noticed that several of the tracks, the more rock-infused pieces, are Motoi Sakuraba's.

Rightstuf is having a 40% off sale on FUNimation stuff. The biggest draw of this is that it extends to the Deadman Wonderland pre-order. I wasted no time ordering. I doubt I'll watch it anytime soon, though. It's still too fresh in my mind, but God am I excited to be getting it. Sale ends October 8th.

I still haven't watched Madlax, Patlabor 1 or 2, or Aquarian Age. The PS3 came along and said, "No. get your a** in here and play me.". I've put a hold on my anime purchases until my PS3 stops being so possessive.

Hello. I've been watching the Draggie TV show. I had to DL them of course as it doesn't air here in ~~crappy~~ Canada.

Anyway, it of course can't match the budget of the movie, but it still looks very good for TV. The premiere eps were okay but I liked the next three a lot. That's promising at least. Oh, and a Season 2 has been confirmed already.

I just finished season 2 of K-On! (season 2 being titled "K-On!!" in Japan, with the second exclamation point--how the heck are you supposed to distinguish between the two verbally? Yell louder for season 2?). Such a fun show. The characters grow on you so much that it is honestly disheartening to know that I have no idea how long I need to wait until the K-On! movie, released in Japanese theaters last December and on home media a few months ago, will release in America. Hopefully, my time between the end of season 2 and the movie won't be like the 1.5 years Japan waited. It isn't encouraging, though, knowing that no one has actually announced the licensing of the film. :( One would expect Sentai to do it, though, since they did season 2 (season 1 was put out by the now-closed Bandai Entertainment).

Rightstuf is having a 40% off sale on FUNimation stuff.

I may go for Steins;Gate. I've heard it's very good, and for once, RightStuf has a Funimation show for less than Amazon.com. There's also that gift certificate I have.

If you get Deadman, Ofaliss, you'll be able to see the OVA episode that was left out of Toonami's broadcast, so maybe that'll be of interest. Oh, and of course you'll also get all that cursing that was left out, too. :)

Now you know how I feel when it comes to the Evangelion movies. I just love 2.0 so much, but God knows how long it'll be before we will get a 3.33 DVD/Blu-ray release. Then the process starts all over again with 4.0, and the inevitable complete collection. Which I should go ahead and sell an arm and a leg for. I imagine it'll be like $300 freaking dollars for the Blu-ray version. And they wonder why people still haven't embraced Blu-rays.

Oh, and of course you'll also get all that cursing that was left out, too.

That's actually a big reason why I want it. I like my stuff uncut. The way it was ment to be seen. Yeah, I can enjoy censored stuff on TV, but I prefer uncensored. It really grinds my gears when I buy seasons of shows and they are censored. Archer season 1, can't remember if 2 is like that, and one or more seasons of the Venture Brothers are the ones I own that are still censored on DVD. I move on eventually, but it shouldn't be like that.

I swear, I need to watch Dragons one of these days. Next time I'm on Amazon I'll see if I can get it for cheap. I hope it doesn't turn out to be another Final Fantasy VIII!

Holy crap! Deadman has shipped! I thought that only orders with 2 day UPS shipping got shipped this far in advance of the release date. Me, being the cheap a** that I am, picked the $2.00 cheaper Priority Mail. Man, this time of year always brings me happiness!

I'm barely awake now (long, bad day), so I'll watch your video later. But before I conk out, I wanted to note that last night, I finally watched my copy of Ah My Goddess: Fighting Wings. This is the 2-episode special from 2008 celebrating AMG's 20th anniversary (in manga form--still running, by the way, so coming up now on its 25th anniversary). Though the two seasons of AMG TV that preceded this special did get released in the US, Fighting Wings (Tatakau Tsubasa) did not. So, I could only shell out for an import, and my first-edition copy (woohoo!) bought during Play-Asia.com's big sale is strictly Japanese audio, with no subtitles of any kind.

Bad news first: I'd say I couldn't understand maybe 25% of the dialogue. The good news, though, is that I understood maybe 75%, enough to have a good grasp of the story, and it was very beautiful. Not a lot of character development and such going on for the main characters, but we got to learn a lot about the valkyrie Lind (who's rather hot, I might add). I'd happily buy this again if it ever got a US release, assuming it costs significantly less than this import. Given the amount of time elapsed, though, that'll probably never happen; I suspect the license fee is very high for this one. The two AMG TV seasons were reportedly pricey licenses, so much so that Media Blasters declined to license the second season because they'd already budgeted something else to be that year's major release for them (Voltron, I think it was; ADV then picked up the AMG TV second season, which may have contributed to their collapse a bit later on).

YES! Toonami will begin airing reruns of Sym-Bionic Titan, starting this Saturday! They will also be showing Thundercats.

Cartoon Network is running new episodes of Young Justice again! Transformers: Prime just keeps getting better. Man, I haven't been this happy about cartoons in forever!
