jackwrites has some good taste in shows. Never heard of Nikita but the other shows are good.
I don't think that's an animated show. It's the show he's spamming us for (note his signature)--which makes me want to not watch it.
Terribly sad that this topic has devolved into spammer central. Almost as sad as my missing out on Toonami. I typically avoid posting in spammer-infested topics, but this was OUR topic, damn it.
It breaks my heart to see my babies (seems like they love the threads I create) end up like this. I've even avoided this thread altogether because I didn't want to see it like this.
O created this thread, not some spambot, but these spammers come to this thread because it has to do with TV. And the stuff the spam about is well, TV stuff...

I have to post here.
Tell me you guys watched Black Dynamite. Hes a bad soul brother!!!
I'ms alsos hookeds ons Metalacolypse. lol
Black Dynamite has balls! The Michael Jackson origin story was hilarious! It plausibly answered so many unanswered questions.
They were done for the movie theater, but 1940's era Looney Tunes and Merrie Melodies cartoons as well as all of Disney's shorts from the 40's and 50's rank high on my list.
Also love 1960's Hanna Barberra cartoons (And 1970's era Scooby Doo cartoons). Also enjoy Disney's 1980's cartoons DuckTales, TaleSpin, and Rescue Rangers. And the 1940's era Tom & Jerry shorts are also great.
And of course The Flintstones from the 1960's. Likely at the top of my list.
Also a big fan of Fraggle Rock (Although it's not a cartoon, it's still children's programming).
My copy of Noir should be here tomorrow. I ordered the ADV Complete Collection, not the one by Funimation.
I hope I like it. But it's hard to not like anything featuring cute chicks with guns.
I liked Ducktales, but also its spinoff, Darkwing Duck. It was pretty much a cartoon version of The Shadow. They even used his real name (from the pulps) as the parody (Drake Mallard = Kent Allard) instead of the Lamont Cranston name used in the radio show (and who was a separate character in the pulps).
Also was a big fan of The Real Ghostbusters. In a lot of ways it was a monster of the week show like Kolchak or the later X-files and the writing was pretty good for a cartoon. Even had a HP Lovecraft episode. But then in the 3rd season they killed it by replacing the voice actors and making it more Slimer focused.
@O I really enjoyed Noir. Can be a bit slow in places but it's a fun series none the less.
Thanks a lot Ross. I get a little worried whenever I buy anime I don't know much about, so it's always good to hear someone I can trust speak up for it.
Noir was a fun watch . . . based on my memories from 11 (?) years ago. :) Yuki Kajiura's music was a particular highlight. Of course, the best part would have to be the insane killing skill of a certain character.
Atariboy, the only thing I disagree with in your list is Scooby Doo. :) For as long as I can remember, even when I was a kid, Scooby and gang have irritated me.
The Real Ghostbusters had writing by Babylon 5 creator J. Michael Straczynski.
I've found a new past time lately, reading post between Mako supporters and naysayers. I'm a naysayer myself.
Not that big on Korra either. But I think it's more the fault of the season being so short. There wasn't a lot of time to flush out Korra. So she ended up looking like a spoiled school girl with a crush who had everything handed to her. Mako is just a dick.
The Real Ghostbusters had writing by Babylon 5 creator J. Michael Straczynski.
Yeah, he was the story editor. After he left (and they replaced Lorenzo Music, creator of The Bob Newhart Show)) the show went down hill.
I think JMS worked on Murder, She Wrote after that. Sadly, no Cthulhu episode of that.
And how you can dislike Scooby Doo? I patterned my life after that show. Well, my twenties, at least.
I thought I was the only person ever to not like Scooby Doo.
Maybe it's a generational thing. But to people who grew up in the 70s (or 60s), Scooby Doo represented everything awesome in the world. Probably every kid associated themselves with Shaggy. Velma and Daphne represent the two classical archetypes of women - usually you are attracted to one or the other. Or Fred.
And who didn't want to travel around the country in a pimped out van? Solving mysteries and meeting people like the Globetrotters and Jonathan Winters and well, I can't remember who else.
Unfortunately, in reality, it's hard to find a talking dog, someone that looks like Velma (much less Daphne) that is interested in such things, and it doesn't pay very well. But I did get to meet Whitley Strieber and the guy who did Stargate:SG-1 (though this was when he was doing The Outer Limits)
I was never a fan of the show, but I was a BIG fan of Velma. I just couldn't really get into the show. No real reason other than it just wasn't my thing.
I've never met anyone famous. Well technically I've met one famous person, but since I don't like any of his music, he doesn't count. Ace Hood. Best known for his 2008 single Cash Flow. He stayed at the hotel I work at a few months ago.
I also met a Michael Jackson impersonator. Looked just like him too. Now that I think about it, I should've taken a picture with him.
Wish I could meet Kanye West, so I can personally ask him why he let his music turn to sh*t.
I actually like a Kanye West song. That flashing lights song. DJ Icey has a bootleg of it that is really nice.
Kanye only recently started sucking. It's just harder for me to except because I have been a BIG fan of his since 2004. I purchased every album of his before release (music stores really are great). If there was a limited edition I bought 2 copies. I have 2 copies of the European limited edition of 808s and Heartbreak.
But anyway, getting back on the topic of animation. Noir just arrived. The box set is really nice. They don't make collections like this anymore. Thick cardboard that houses the slim case DVDs. Beautiful artwork. Not that regular DVD case with a slipcover crap like Funimation pulls now.
Interesting note about the seller I purchased it from on Amazon. I remembered buying from the seller in the past, I also remember that the seller was actually a major distributor, but they go buy shawnek on Amazon. I couldn't remember who it was at the time I ordered Noir, but it's actually Right Stuf. I think I remember it being a combination of someones name involved with Right Stuf, or something like that.
Wow. I didn't intend to rant on like that. Oh well.
I think I remember it being a combination of someones name involved with Right Stuf, or something like that.
Yeah, shawnek is an abbreviation for Shawne Kleckner, the president of RightStuf.
I was a BIG fan of Velma
How so? Granted, none of the characters appeal to me, but I always thought Velma must have very few fans compared to her compatriots.
I've never met anyone famous.
Depending on how famous "famous" is, I met a few just last weekend. :) Also, my copy of Gradius V is now signed not only by the composer but also by the guy who created its cover artwork. He also signed my Macross Ace Frontier PSP game cover.
But, millionaire musicians and Hollywood people, no, I haven't met any of those before.

I like my women shapely and nerdy. And, uh... That's about it.
i hate THIS ANIME
1]THE TWO BITCHES CHARACTERS ARE ANNOYING
2]ALWAYS THE GUYS DIE AND NOT GIRLS
THIS ANIME SUCK
ALL YOU SEE IS GUYS DIE LIKE TRASH
AND BITCHES ABUSING GUYS
That is what one YouTube user had to say about Noir. I'm really starting to regret my purchase after hearing his compelling arguments.
Leave the poor guy alone. He clearly suffers from constant physical abuse by his girlfriend. He also suffers from Old Yeller Syndrome.
So a buddy told me about an anime that is right up my alley, and I wonder has anyone here seen it before. It's called Najica Blitz Tactics.
I looked at a trailer and it seems to have a lot of things I like. Hot chicks with guns completely wrecking sh*t. But I also saw an insane amount of panty shots. Now I'm all for fan service, but it at least has to come with a half decent story.
I haven't seen it before, but to my surprise, I actually don't have it in my library, either. Maybe I forgot to buy it, years ago. It is a show with whose panty-saturated reputation I'm familiar, though.
Speaking of hot chicks with guns completely wrecking shut, my order with Dirty Pair Flash's re-release got lost by the post office. :( Status got updated to "Delivered," and then they lost it somewhere before I came in to pick it up.
I think I'll get it, depending how cheap I can get it. I'm a sucker for the girls with guns genre. Speaking of which, I still need to finish watching Gunslinger Girl. I got the complete collection a while back. I've already seen the first season, but I've never seen the OVA and second season.
Sorry to hear about your package ordeal. I know from a very recent personal experience how a shipping screw up can f your whole world up.
How about Ai Yori Aoshi, onmode-ky? Have you seen that? I typically don't go for romance anything, but something about the series catches my eye. Could be those manga covers that are super easy on the eyes.
