As much as I hate them, GameStop is having some real attractive trade-in deals going on right now. First being an extra 50% on all game trade-ins. The next is an additional 30% on hardware trade-ins. This on top of the extra 10% trade-in credit I get for still being a Pro Rewards member.

Right now I am thinking about trading in my 3DS, Kid Icarus Uprising, and most of my 360 games so I can get a PS3. Right now it's the only way I'll be getting a PS3 anytime soon so close to the holidays. And you guys have no idea how bad I want a PS3.

But I'm a little torn. I don't really want to trade in the 3DS, but at this point it only gets used once every few months when a game I want finally comes out. I'm really thinking I can be fine without one until the end of it's life when the good games are already out. BUT. I hate the idea of selling a system. The good ol' days of having someone else buy systems for me is over, these babies are being purchased with my hard earned money, so it's a tough decision.

What do you guys think? Should I trade it in or not?

While I want to say yes so you'll get a PS3 faster, I'm not sure if you should. I personally hate selling video games so I'd never do it. But could you go into more specifics for the trade in games and the PS3 cost? Also aren't suff a lot cheaper during black Friday?

i wouldn't, and even though i shop at GS, i never trade in there.... two words: RIP OFF!!!!

i wonder if Cyber Monday got anything good...

you made me want to get a PS3 more...but i'm putting my focuses on Vita and P4G for the rest of the year...looks like my PS2 getting much more usage

A 160GB PS3 is $249.99. With the deal now (ends on the 9th) and my Pro membership any game I trade in gets an additional 60% credit. So whatever the amount a game trades in for, take 60% of that and add it to the final trade in amount. With hardware I'll be able to get an additional 40% credit (ends on the 16th). I could just as easily sell all this stuff on eBay for about the same amount, but a few problems arise there. It's likely that not all of what I post will sell, and I have to worry about shipping the stuff that does out to various people.

Yeah, I could wait until black Friday, but I need to take advantage of this 60% bonus credit before the 9th. I'm low balling what I stand to make at just under $200. I doubt I can wait until black Friday to get a PS3 when I know I can add in the remaining next paycheck and buy it and a few other things. But I may try. Either way, I have to decide if I'm going to hop on this trade in deal. Every day that goes by games lose trade in value.

I can never advise people on topics like this. I get attached to my stuff, so I'd never sell, but other people don't have such hangups.

My past has proven that I am quick to sell a system and then just as quick to turn around and buy it again. Sometimes multiple times. But I honestly think I won't miss the 3DS that much. It's going to suck when my copy of Code of Princess comes and I can't play it, but I'll get over it pretty quick if I'm playing No More Heroes: Heroes Paradise or Okami HD.

Selling games is fine but selling a system is a total no-no to me. It's up to you anyway so go ahead if you really want a PS3. I love handhelds more than consoles too by the way so....

I kinda want to get a 3DS or WiiU just for Scribblenauts Unlimited and the New Super Smash Bros. But I'll suppress that urge for now.

I'm going to go ahead and do it tomorrow. Unless a game gets announced that can convince me otherwise. And the only thing that could do that is a NA release of Senran Kagura.

What PS3 games are you planning on getting? Because I'd really suggest you spend the $50 on a year of PS plus seeing as you own hardly any PS3 games.

Aw... :( Team Freeliss is over before it even began.

I'll get another one eventually. Hopefully by the time I do decide to get another one Nintendo will go ahead and add that extra stick. Doubt it. But a man can dream.

I'm not really all that interested in the PS+ selection, double d. Metal Gear Solid 4 will keep me entertained for a few weeks. And since it's pretty likely I won't get enough to buy a PS3 tomorrow I'll have just enough in my game budget to get a cheap PS3 game or 2. That will be enough for when I finally do get the PS3. I'm still deciding on if I should open Hyperdimension Neptunia or not.

O you mentioned No More Heroes Paradise. In case you don't already know, it plays like total garbage. I picked it up a couple a weeks ago at a small town hardware store (seriously) for $20. It has some issues. I haven't found the urge (especially in the midst of all the games I've been deluged with) to go back to it and probably never will. Driving the bike around town is some of the sloppiest inexcusable controls I've ever seen. I understand how some people will look past it short comings though and find something worthwhile. To each their own.

If I ever get a 3DS, I'll most likely be going for an XL. The non-XL model's screens are actually just barely larger than the original DS' screens, which took me by surprise the first time I used a 3DS. The XL's screens are big enough to easily make out the individual pixels, but I think I can deal with that in exchange for the much larger working space. The pixel density is at least still higher than that of the DSi XL (whose lower screen is, in fact, bigger than the 3DS XL's lower screen).

Ofaliss, say farewell to your 3DS for me. I don't think I could handle doing it myself.

Yeah. I've read multiple reviews that say that. But it's one of those games I want to experience for myself. I know that sounds stupid, but it's not the first time I've willingly played a flawed game for the experience.

I made a statement about the XL being a useless update, but after playing The World Ends With You on the 3DS and it completely destroying my eyes, I know see why old folk wait for the bigger screens. I'm alright with trading it in now. I've said my final goodbyes.

I did. I wanted to see the differences in the 2 versions. The Vita version is definitely superior. But it's cool playing my levels on a TV.

I downloaded a few demos, I'll try them out in the morning. Sucks that there isn't a demo for Malicious.

You also do realize you've just lost all your Eshop games and apps, yes? You can't get them back.

I only purchased Mighty Switch Force and the armadillo game. Oh, and Blayzbloo. I'm not too worried about it. I don't mind re-buying Mighty Switch Force. I can happily live without the other ones.

That's not going to help. The games are tied the system, not your account like Sony and MS does. If your Wii/3DS/whatever gets lost or you sell it, you lose all the games you purchased on it. The new system will not recognize your SD card if you stick one in.
