I personally think that the PS3 version is very good and exciting. Let us hope that all what the PSP will compromise is the graphics (obviously), and that the gameplay shell remain the same.
Who is waiting for Split / Second on the PSP?

I haven't played the demo yet on PSN, I also liked the PS3 version and if this one is just as good then count me in.

Having played the demo, I've come to the conclusion that sticking with MotorStorm: Arctic Edge would be for the best.
IIRC the PSP version is an enhanced version of the iPhone game.

I couldn't get the hang of Motorstorm, I kept sucking at it ha. I didn't really stick with it though(the demo), so maybe I would've gotten better if I tried a bit more.

i have Ridge Racer 1 and Wipeout Pulse racing games, and i think they're better than
Motorstorm & Split/Second.
but then again , i only played the demo for those 2 games.Ridge Racer has better graphics.
And for split second, i kept destroying my own car. lol!

@Solo the Hutt
True Ridge Racer has better graphics (it amazes me how it is still one of the best looking games on the PSP), but Split/Second has way more going on on screen at one time, than Ridge Racer does.S/S's demo was pretty cool, but with God Eater Burst around the corner (though I think it got delayed), I'm holding off on purchasing any new full PSP titles.

I can't drift in split second and that sucks. So I don't think I am gonna buy it, I am waiting for duke nukem, resident evil portable, the 3rd birthday, puzzle quest 2,... don't have much money so a game less won't be a problem.

Played the demo, it was what I was expecting(which is good). Though at the price they're asking for it, I'll wait until it drops in price.

@pspgamer01
been waiting for those games too ..
Duke Nukem was announced long time ago, the first of the trilogy is suppose to be out this year, but guess it was postponed. and just like Resident Evil , there's no news about it.
who knows if they ever be released.Puzzle Quest is one of my fav games on PSP , so v happy when they announced PQ II on PSP.

I really like this game (played demo), I just hope that it's long enough...

didn't enjoy the demo, seems impossible to control
I'm sticking with Motorstorm as wellPosted 1 year ago # -
Off topic: Resident Evil Portable is dead. Capcom only showed a logo for the game, and nothing else. That was back at E3 2009, since then they've announced two 3DS Resident Evil titles, and both have had full reveals with trailers, and screenshots. One of the Resident Evil producers was asked about Resident Evil Portable, he basically said he never even heard about it. The unlikely road is that Capcom's outsourcing it (even though they said RE was a franchise they'd do themselves), or it's dead.
As for the Duke Nukem Trilogy, that's dead too. Due to the change of hands on Duke Nukem: Forever, Apogee/Frontline Studios (the company developing these games) lost the Duke Nukem license. However, they still plan on releasing then first game, just under the title of Extraction Point: Alien Shootout.

@ solo the hutt
puzzle quest 2 is announced but not officialy I think.
@ Takao
Since the 3DS is a strong portable device. They just moved the Resident evil portable for psp to 3DS. Seems quite smart since it will sell 10x times as much as you would release it for psp...
Why did they lost the license? So the psp duke nukem is gonna becalled extraction point??? Oo

I really do doubt if Resident Evil Portable ever existed passed that logo. As I mentioned earlier, a Resident Evil producer was asked about it, and he had never heard of it.
As for Duke Nukem, due to Gearbox buying the Duke Nukem franchise (they're developing Duke Nukem Forever now), the company's license for Duke Nukem Trilogy became void. Hence the name change to "Extraction Point: Alien Shootout".

Thought it would be rude to set up a new conversation/post so found the closest existing one
Split second velocity is now in the essentials range at £7.99 and far more in my price range (only just!) than £31.99 was (or whatever it was).
So has anyone got any opinions on it, anyone played the full game?

Split Second on the PSP is actualy one of my favorites. It plays really well, there is loads of content, good impression of speed, and some amazing explosions.

Man, SCEE actually cares about PSP. Split Second is still full price here.
Posted 10 months ago # -
@ Takao
SCEA has 3x times the content SCEE has.Posted 10 months ago # -
And in Japan they probably have way more again, SCEE does seem to have more sales though

I only played the demo, but had all the traps and shortcuts memorized on my 3rd play. Is this worth picking up if I can find it used?
Posted 9 months ago # -
I would recomment it. When I first played the demo, I wasnt sure what to make of it, wasnt sure I liked it. But I kept going back to it, eventualy got the hang of it, and kept trying to place 1st in the race. I then decided to buy the full game for £27.99 (I think) and I have never looked back. Well worth the money. There are plenty of different tracks, and yes, you do eventually learn all of the traps and shortcuts, but there are times that it still surprises you.

I love this game so much, the powerplay\'s are absolutely amazing. When everyone is in front of me I love pressing a button and watching a truck explode, a building collapse or an plane descend from the sky, etc.
When I\'m in the lead it is a completely different story. Whenever I pass a truck danging in the sky from a helicopter or a bus on a side road I avoid it at all cost and usually end up crashing anyway because I wasn\'t paying attention to the rest of the track.
I find it funny that the story behind the game is that you are a reality TV show contestant racing for money and fame with the option to obliterate your opponents with the destructible. Imagine if that were a real show? O_o
Overall I think it is quite an amazing racing game and as a PSP essential is also well priced. ^_^
PS: Anyone know any more information on Extraction Point: Alien Shootout? I guess it won\'t be happening. :(

The US store got a permanent price drop on Split/Second (and Tron) this week... (what an unusual coincidence.)
Split Second Digital PSP (Price Change) (PSP) (now $19.99, original price $29.99)
Tron: Evolution Digital (Price Change) (PSP) (now $19.99, original price $39.99)If you were holding out on a cheaper price maybe now is the time to buy it. :P
