What a load of _______
I don't consider myself to have a vast collection of games but I own all of them! I see where they're going with picking big games rather than tiny games no-one wants but these are some of the most popular games on the system, people who've had a psp for a while probably have all of these.
On top of that at Little Big planet was free to all psp go users (after the 10 free promotion) and lots of playstation plus memebers are rightly pointing out (mostly for ps3) that their choose of games have already been up for grabs.
Very disaapointing, they lose all my data and my welcome back pack is nothing! Should have been a pick 2 from 10 with some variations of popularity of games that way the chances of you having all 10 would be much smaller!

I'm going to opt for ModNation Racers and Pursuit Force as I'd had (completed and traded in) killzone Liberation already. I was going to get Little Big Planet instead of Pursuit Force... that was until I found out about the size of it... 2GB... pass.

Well, I've had a PSP for almost 3 years and have somewhere over 40 UMDs, but I have none of those titles. Granted, it doesn't really matter which I choose anyway, because I likely won't ever get to playing them.
Very disaapointing, they lose all my data and my welcome back pack is nothing!
? They didn't lose any of your data. . . .
You really didn't foresee the possibility that what they would offer might all be content you already own? Heck, I thought that might happen, and I was expecting PS1 games and/or Minis, not full PS3 and UMD releases. I empathize with your disappointment, but take a step back and note that this is a good deal of lost potential profit for Sony being given away to 70+ million accounts. Even if you value this only at $20 per user (which is really low, considering that there's PS3 content involved, too, and a fair number of users with both a PSP and PS3), that's over a billion US dollars up for grabs. Personally, this is much more than I was expecting.

I have to agree with Onmode. I don't have any of these. I'm pretty happy about the selection. I was expecting Minis to be honest. I would figure they don't HAVE to give us anything. I'm grateful I reckon.
Oh, and I'll be getting LBP and Killzone.Posted 1 year ago # -
Maybe a bit more strongly worded when I put that as I'd just seen the offering to learn I was to get nothing at all, but I still strongly believe its a poor effort from Sony, a glance of the EU blog see's hundreds of comments on the lines of I own all of them. To me the welcome back gift is a gift for loyalty, so it needed to be one with a lot of choice (as I dont see how more choice would make it any more costly)to acknowledge that the ones who used psn most often were likely to have a fair selection of games.
Naturally when you say about PS1 or minis, I would have been more greatful of that, as more likely not to own it for me personally. For example if the list had of been LBP, Pursuit Force, Killzone, Modnation, A Ps1 game and a mini. Yes the majority would have gone for the big 4 as they get the most from it, but I (who dont own any ps1 games) would have got something, even though it would be smaller.
If i'd have bought a pspGO when they had the 10 free games I would have owned 5, so if there had of been pick 2 from those I would have been fine even if you just end up with something rubbish like Avatar or Fifa World Cup, its something.
Finally I thought it was greatly summed up by one person on the EU blog that said "I would have preferred £1 off my next purchase" which is the position i'm in, just a tiny alternative would be better for me. You say about a $20 per user. But I think you can understand my disappointment/annoyance that I get $0.

Killzone and Pursuit Force I have all the rest and for the PS3 Dead Nation and Wipeout because I have the rest except Rachet and Clank :P

@Identity25
It was the sequel for pursuit force that was availle for free with the psp go i have it :P

The sequel is a much better game, the controls are far superior. Although come to think of it, I believe the US version of the first game had the superior controls of the second. In EU, the controls sucked - d-pad for driving - ew.

I only have Killzone myself. The PS Plus offers are also limited time offers, whereas these are permanent downloads. A lot of posts on the blog have complained about this, but the service is free. Sony has no obligation to offer anything. If you aren't happy with these there are also free movie downloads as well as free PS+, which gives you some free minis and discounted ps1 titles.
I wouldn't complain if I already had everything offered, I'd be happy that more people will get the chance to play these games.

I havent tried the second game. I would love it, shame its not on this offer! First one is a great game but its really hard, I cant get more than half way through the game, usually when you keep on trying you eventually get there, but its more like a road block, still great game though.
To those deciding on which games to get I recommend Killzone: Liberation and Pursuit Force

About the PS+ thing: Will a PS3 be needed to activate it? Because it seems it is to purchase it, but I don't want to miss out on this free month of it...

I've got Mod Nation racers, so it would probably be LBP and Killzone Liberation. Though realistically, it won't be either, as I have no room on my memory stick and have little interest in either or those (tried the LBP demo, but didn't like the floatiness of it. Like it's on the Moon instead of Earth).

Very unhappy, because I have this games :-/

I usually stick with smaller games on my PSP so I can fill it with more different types of games, so I won't be downloading these games yet, I'll just pick them so I have them on my account and will be able to download them later after the 30 day cut off date.

yeah nexus, I have ps3 so I'll dl them there, but prolly won't play either for a while.

I seriously disagree about sony not owing us anything they owe us time which they cant give so they give money and they owe us for losing our credit card details and dont give me the example of if a bank got robbed would you blame the bank.No but i would still vexpect the bank to give my money
Posted 1 year ago # -
Please keep in mind: "There is no evidence that credit card information was compromised" is not the same thing as "We lost your credit card details."
And what they owe you for losing credit card details would be credit monitoring, no? And that's already being offered separately.

Well the only game in the list that I actually own is Modnation Racers. Killzone doesn't interest me, neither does LBP. I never heard of Pursuit Force but since it's a vehicular combat game, I'm gonna get that since I do enjoy the Wipeout Series. I'll probably get LBP for the other even though I don't really want it.

I can see the point people are making about Sony not offering a wide enough selection.
It seems the people who maybe just signed up for a PlayStation account rarely play their PSP get a selection of 2 out of 4 fairly nice games whereas those regularly purchase games may be left with less of a selection and could even own all the games.
I previous said that I own LittleBigPlanet, ModNation Racers and Pursuit Force which leaves me with just Killzone Liberation.
When I bought my PSPgo it was a similar situation as I already owned Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories, Avatar, LittleBigPlanet, MotorStorm and Need for Speed Shift... Though I think my disappointment was overshadowed by annoyance of having to download a theme from the PSPgo then wait for an email to be randomly sent to me within the next month before being about to download the games.
I'm very grateful for the free Killzone game though and replacing my ModNation Racers ISO with the PSN ModNation Racers EBOOT will save a bit of space on my device.
Also getting a free month of free PS+ is awesome, hopefully I'll have enough money to purchase all the cheap minis and PSOne Classics, not so much interested in the 30 day trials though.

Can I do the ps+ with just a psp and media go? or is it exclusive to those that own PS3's. As while the majority of stuff woul be useless at least i'd get something!
I'd really love Sony to reconsider and add a few more choices. I may be wrong but adding other choices i'd imagine wouldnt cost must at all as you still only get 2 but I doubt they'd do that!

Sony have been (overly) generous with the welcome back package, and yet people still bitch and moan, WTF... would you all prefare a kick in the bollocks instead (and if you're of the oposite gender then they can glue them on... then kick you in them).
I can't believe I'm acually having to defend Sony!... ungrateful B*****ds!
Posted 1 year ago # -
@ thumbbandit - The point you miss out on is that Sony HAS to be overly generous after what happened. I don't have any chip on my shoulder myself, but plenty of people defected to the 360 after this. They needed to polish up their reputation.
@ Identity25 - I don't understand how all of that works financially for them, but I wouldn't mind seeing them have a few more titles to pick from either. I'll take what I get, but there's not much that I really want. Hopefully they will have some decent discounts through PS+ that we can take advantage of.

I'm not a Sony fanboy... but why the feck would people jumpship to an xbox 360 (reliably unreliable) console (made by the corporate conglomerate bastards that are microsoft)... that makes as much sense as trying to lick your own elbow.

"...they owe us for losing our credit card details..."Sony did not lose credit card info. At first reports they could not confirm that the database had been accessed. Unfortunately they neglected to tell the press that all credit card info was encrypted. If anyone had gotten the info it would be worthless.
Sony also should have notified the press that the stolen passwords were not, in fact, our passwords. They were hashed (encrypted, sorta) and as such were useless. The hashed data is what is sent to the servers, not what you input, and as such could not be used to sign into any Sony or other services. Most importantly, everyone is so quick to point the finger at Sony, though this is not the result of negligence within the corporation. Sony has undergone repeated attempts by hackers in the past months, several gaming sites claim as an ungoing backlash from removing the OtherOS function. This isn't a mistake or a mishap, it's a deliberate act of corporate terrorism (I can't believe I just used that term... I apologise)
The welcome back program is a great service and Sony did not have to do this. Every week my coworkers (who mostly play 360) have been asking me if Sony is back online yet. When I tell these coworkers about this welcome back program they simply shrug. It is really only affecting Sony customers, and not dispelling the bad press they received over the outage.

I haven't got any of these xD. I choose killzone liberation and LBP. Good I didn't buy it :D!
Posted 1 year ago # -
Don't even bother TB. No offense to any one here, but Sony could have let people download every game available on the store and people would still bitch about not being properly compensated.
LBP for the win baby! I'm torn between Killzone and Pursuit Force as my second choice.
Posted 1 year ago # -
I wouldn't recommend the PSP version of Modnation to my worst enemy...okay maybe I would.
I already have all the games on there, except Pursuit Force, I have the second one and I'm assuming Sony is offering the first one.
If the first one is as good I'd recommend Pursuit Force and LBP. If you have have LBP for the PS3 then skip it and go with Killzone.

why all the hate for modnation? I thought it looked like a solid kart racer. The demo was better than the console version I thought... maybe I'll check out pursuit force instead...
I really want a racing game though. Tried one of the burnout games and was disappointed. The Need For Speed titles looked unimpressive too. Any better suggestions?
Posted 1 year ago # -
It is a solid racing game, but it's just not a very entertaining racing game. I believed the hype and bought it day one. $39.99 I wish I had back. But then again it was my own fault, because deep down I knew that hype was for the PS3 version, not the PSP's. Lesson learned.
As far as online go, they set up lobbies and pick their favorite track. They know all the shortcuts, which turns that they need to drift for boost, where all the weapons are, etc. It's the CoD of online racers, because they basically camp.
