Just curious, is this site actively against homebrew? Just I think I saw it mentioned in a thread, and was wondering if its allowed to be mentioned or not? Sorry if it isn't and I'm breaking rules or anything...Note: I am NOT talking about piracy, or anything to allow it, I just mean little homemade games etc.
What's the sites stance on homebrew?

There are no rules here, you can freely say and ask whatever is on your mind. Everyone here is pretty nice.
I myself have no problem with people making games and putting it out there for other's to freely play.
Welcome by the way, I don't think I've spoken to you before. :D

Some people who are into homebrew use what they know to be creative, and some good ideas have been due to that.
I have no problem with homebrew... though I don't bother with it myself. ;)Posted 1 year ago # -
OK, cool. I don't personally use homebrew much, I played a couple of homebrew games once, then got bored of not having PSN :P Use it a bit on the Wii though.
And thanks Ofaliss, nice to know I'm welcome :P

I personally love the idea of doing what you want with your hardware, but the problem lies in piracy (which is pretty wrong, and tougher to tolerate), which has become synonymous homebrew over the years, since homebrew enables it on the psp.
Because of the all steps sony has taken to disable homebrew, I think anyone who wants to try it should just get a homebrew dedicated console (like the pandora) rather than hacking their psp (if they really have the desire to run non-sony approved code), but thats not something I'd force on others, only encourage.Posted 1 year ago # -
I completely support homebrew software and hardware, after all that is how the computer industry got started. The indie/modding communities in modern video games are hugely important, not just in extending the life of games such as Quake & Half Life, but also in helping the video game developers of the future get started.
The geniuses and visionaries at companies such as Apple, Microsoft, id Software & Valve started their careers in homebrew:

@SifJar - welcome to the site! :-)

Carson: I agree completely. It is very sad that pirates wait till homebrewers hack a platform, then with little effort (compared to getting homebrew running) write piracy programs. It's a sad state of affairs. :(
