I just wanted to know some of the games you guys had pre-ordered that your looking forward to getting. I have 3 pre-ordered at the moment, 1 of which I'm not too sure of. Here they are...

1) Catherine - I'm really liking the concept of this adult themed puzzler.

2) Deus Ex: Human Revolution Augmented Edition - I haven't looked forward to playing a game this bad since I knew I was getting a Dreamcast and Sonic Adventure for Christmas back in '99.

3) Duke Nukem Forever Balls of Steel Edition - I'm not too sure on this one. I'm patiently waiting on the beta to decide if I'm going to go ahead and buy it, or cancel my pre-order. (Enjoy that trailer by the way! XD)

I'm trying to save either for a NGP or a new PC (my desktop one is from 2003! It's getting long in the tooth) so I'm trying to cut back.

I'm really on the fence for Xenonauts, though.

Essentially a remake of X-com. Looks very solid. Some differences, but for the most part they seem like good differences.

OMG Catherine looks amazing! and yes I did CAPS omg. Is that getting any NA release? I'm a huge fan of puzzlers and fan service, and the only fan service that gets NA releases is mechs. Which, as amazing as they may be, are not nearly as amazing as boobs.

I currently have Dungeon Siege for PS3 pre ordered. It isn't nearly as exciting so I haven't searched for a video to share. Am only looking forward to it for a solid dungeon crawler coop to play with my wife. I've only played Dungeon Siege for psp, but it was too long/slow to have any replay value.
Though, ff the pre order incentives aren't good, I'll cancel it and buy a DL title to play coop (Zack Pilgrim?), until I can find Dungeon Siege used.

I've got such a backlog of games I'm not looking for anything new (except maybe Xenonauts now, thanks Jeremy). Having PSN down now is a bit of a blessing for me since I don't have that temptation to buy games there.
For the most part though I don't buy games when they first come out now. I'm way to jaded on all the hype and none of the payoff once I get the game. There really is nothing new under the sun.

Sure is. It'll be released on July 26th and comes in 3 different versions. If I had the money (and could fit the underwear included in the Love Is Over edition), I'd buy all 3! Bayonetta was fan service! That game has some of the most amazing attention to detail I've ever seen!

PSN being down has been a bit of a blessing. I've also saved money because I can't randomly buy PSP games.

Bayonetta was good? I've seen it pretty cheap used at EB, but hadn't heard much about it. A friend said the only real replay value was trying to do perfect runs, apparently if you ace a section the game plays out like a movie (??)

Whoah. 80 bucks actually looks worthwhile there... I'll have to convince the wife it's worth it first though. Will have to preorder anyways, don't know about the soundtrack but the artbook sounds nice. Too bad it PS3 though, looks like it would've been a perfect handheld title.

Bayonetta is actually a really good action game. A lot of people over looked it because they assumed it was all fan service and no content, but it satisfies in both regards. Getting Platinum on all the levels and unlocking all of her outfits, skills and weapons is the meat of the games replayability. You can get the game new on Amazon for around $15, and that's a helluva deal on a game I was recommending to people when it was still $60.

Yeah, you really get a lot of extra's for the extra $20. I'm really fighting the temptation to get the Love Is Over Edition for 2 reasons. 1) I'm a sucker for deluxe editions 2) Games published by Atlus tend to fetch high prices further down the line, so it would make a nice collectors item.

I snagged Bayonetta for $10. :) Haven't opened it yet, what with the backlog. From what I've heard, it's an excellent action game--which does not bode particularly well for me, since I'm generally not very good at those.

I don't have anything on preorder right now, unless you count the ICO and Shadow of the Colossus HD collection, which doesn't have a definite date; moreover, the only reason I preordered it was because Amazon.com gave me a limited-time opportunity for doing so at a significant discount. I would have Tales of Graces f preordered if it had a date as well.

Hopefully, there will be few games releasing for the rest of the year which interest me. I'd like the opportunity to work on the backlog. Still, even without preorders, there are many existing or downloadable games in my "likely to buy" list. Too many, one might say.

Speaking of fan service, the recently released KOS-MOS figma has sooooo many of her weapons (in addition to it just looking spectacular). I'm glad I snagged one before the market price went through the roof.

Bayonetta has 2 easier difficulty levels that lets you play the game using one button for all of Bayonetta's actions. I hear like one or all of the Devil May Cry games (I've sadly never played any to confirm).

Now I don't remember if that one button is the Left or Right trigger, but if it's the Left trigger, the game was REALLY meant to service the fans if you know what I mean!

the puzzle side of Catherine looks awesome. Im not much a fan of the other parts, I'd have no want to go into the virtual toilet to view cartoon pictures but each to their own, i'd definitly buy it for the main part of the game. Sadly I have no Console, just my psp.

Months of planning ahead and saving is the key. Other than Gravity, MGS, and Lollipop releasing the same day next month, they are a month or more apart, or have no official release day yet. I believe Konami and Platinum Games will play the waiting game with Revengeance. They will likely wait to see how DmC does as far as sales. Capcom and Konami both gave gamers and their willingness to embrace change too much credit.

Zero - I never pre-order anything after my first pre-order left a bad taste. It came 7 days late and it didn't have the pre-order bonus. :(

Heh, I remember years ago, I pre-ordered X-com: Terror From the Deep direct from the company.

I was in Best Buy and saw it on the shelves. So I go home and call 'em up angrily. "How come Best Buy has it and you didn't ship it to me?"

"It's not out yet."

"Yes it is, I have it right here."

"No it's not. Are you sure you didn't buy a demo?"

"It's not a demo. Do you want me to read from the manual"

We went back and forth and finally they canceled my order, though the guy never did admit that I actually had the game.

My preorder for Atelier Meruru will ship soon, but other than that, nothing at the moment. I think I'll preorder Growlanser: Wayfarer of Time, and I'd probably preorder Black Rock Shooter if it were available for preordering. Even though I'm quite interested in Gravity Rush, I won't be preordering it--despite my history of getting games for systems I don't own yet. I figure that (same with Sorcery, the most anticipated Move game) Sony-published games won't become scarce very quickly.

I don't pre order either. Its too easy to just go pick it up. Hell, I didn't even pre order Diablo 3.

Well, yes, I agree there isn't much point in preordering a super-popular game. The things I preorder are titles with low print runs and limited distribution, like certain releases from Atlus or NIS America, or sometimes I just want to support the smaller publishers or niche games (preorder numbers give retailers an indication of how many first-shipment units they should stock). Or . . . sometimes preorders come with some really nice swag. :) Hey, if the game turns out to be terrible, you could always simply not open it and sell it--while still keeping the swag.

It's not easy for me. Where I live there is a GamsStop and a Walmart. GameStop is never getting a cent from me again, and if it isn't Halo, Madden, or CoD, Walmart isn't likely to have it in stock on release day. Maybe not ever. They are especially terrible with Vita games.

Even if I didn't hate GameStop with a passion, I work a 3rd shift job. Between sleep and existing to the rest of the world, I don't have much free time to go buy games. Also, Amazon has one of the sweetest return policies ever. So if you do happen to hate the game, you can send it back and only pay return shipping. I think a few bucks is a pretty fair loss considering you could end up losing more selling it on eBay, or are stupid enough to take it to GameStop.

Plus, you occasionally get that free swag onmode-ky was talking about. That sweet sweet swag.

The server issues will be fixed. If I had to choose between breathing and Diablo 3, I would pick breathing, but not without considering Diablo first. Its THAT badass. I used to play vanilla D2 and Median XL (a D2 mod) till the cows came home and didnt even do it online. So you can have fun with it offline. I do believe 3 is meant for online play though with that new badass auction house.

Kingdom Hearts 3D Dream Drop Distance - I know have the Collector's Edition pre-ordered. Damn Collector's Editions, my Kryptonite.

Anarchy Reigns- No longer has a release date. Bad sign seeing as this is like the 3rd time Sega has pushed it back.

DmC: Devil May Cry - Now has a Jan. 15 release date.

Just an update on what I have pre-ordered. Right now I still have the regular and Collector's Edition of Kingdonm Hearts 3D on Pre-order. I'm keeping the CE sealed and playing the regular.

It's really hard to gauge just how collectible CE's really will be now. But I may cancel my regular pre-order and get two CE's just in case. I can open and enjoy one, leaving the other sealed. I just want to at least once own a rare game. Not to price rape someone later, but just so I can say I have an unopened hard to find game.

I'm thinking about this. I bought the first game for the PC, PS3 and twice for the 360 (all DLC for all 3) so maybe I'm fan enough.
