this has been discussed in a thread already, now let's try a poll or something. personally i don't mind a demo since i regret some of the minis i got.

Lol, this is from the thread I brought up, interesting.
I said a lot in the other one, summary: I don't think demos will hurt developers, it may even sell more games, I think the implementation on Sony's side would be hard because it would increase the amount downloaded on PSN by a lot. I am of the type that doesn't quite know for sure if I will like the game until I play it, but others are able to be sure through reviews etc.

that's the reason i did this, unless it somehow hurts developers really bad, a demo can help us determine what's good for us and not waste money on those we don't like.

I agree, so far buying minis has been a learning experience for me - the main thing I learned is to stick with my favorite genre, that being puzzle games, or having something in it with puzzles.
I also found I'm quite picky with games, this may be less of a problem for people who tend to like nearly every game they play.
Here's a list some of games I personally wish I had demos for, just as an example.
Brick Breaker - Got a bad review, I only bought it because I love brick breaker games, and this is not a great clone.
Bloons TD - good gameplay but was too kidlike in graphics for me, I found.
Bloons - I accidentally bought this thinking it was Bloons TD. No demo or return policy meant I was stuck with it.
Monopoly - I love playing it with family, I found it boring to play with a computer.
Forest Puzzle - It's in my genre, I just don't like the gameplay - too much being chased by and running from very fast bad guys.So there you go, I suppose I haven't wasted THAT much money, but even a 10 minute demo probably would've saved me money on the above games.

holy crap, i was just thinking the same thing about 10 minute demo. it really doesn't matter much as long as we get an idea of the game so we know for sure if it's worth it or not.

There are only a few that I regret buying out of all the 80something minis I've bought... and I've been buying minis from the start. ;)

I don't really need a demo for a mini to be honest. They really aren't leaving a big enough hole in my pocket that I regret buying a bad one. It sucks that I came across a bad one, but I spend no more than $7 a pop on them, so I don't really care.
Also, making a demo from what I can tell just takes up more resources and man-hours. Not only would they have to put the demo level together, they would have to make sure it runs on both the PSP and PS3. Since these guys are on a tight enough budget as it is, they risk losing more money if people decide to try and not buy. Also if the demo doesn't run on either or, I imagine that not only pushes back the demo, but the full game, while they spend more man-hours fixing a demo for a game that will sell for less than $10.
But that's just speculation on how demos work on my part, but if it does work like that, it's just way more effort than it's worth.

I think this could be addressed using the same approach that Google use with their Android Market: If you uninstall a paid app within 15 mins of first installing it, then you get an automatic & immediate refund.
This is a great approach because it gives people an easy way to try apps/games for 15 mins at no risk. There is also nothing for the developer to do, it's just part of how the Android Market handles refunds.

What Android phone do you have Matt? I like this feature too, but better was 24h limit, in 15 minutes is sometimes impossible to download, install and try app / game...

I've got an HTC Wildfire S in white. My wife has an HTC Desire. Both are great Android devices. The Wildfire is a little underpowered (600MHz CPU) for gaming but it still a lovely device.
What Android device do you have?
So did the Android Market refund limit used to be 24hrs then? I don't know that. I agree, 24hrs is a better time limit because sometimes it's just not possible to properly assess the bigger games in 15 mins. For instance, some games require you to download 30-50Mb of supporting data during the installation and that takes time even over WiFi! ;-)
Have you played Aftermath or ToonWarz?
Aftermath is like an overhead version of Left 4 Dead and ToonWarz is like Team Fortress 2. They are great games if you like shooters!
I'd also recommend ExZeus Arcade and TurboFly 3D.
I bet you like puzzle games with high score tables?! :-D
I'm saving up for an awesome Sony Ericsson Xperia Play in white! :-) :-)

Yeah I agree, no one should have to make a demo. The demo is the full featured game, just on a time limit, that's all. After a certain period of time, the demo expires and could can't play it unless you buy it.
