Does anyone have a list of levels where to find the Secret Areas? I can't even find #1 and #2, yet I've ploughed through the first 13 levels.
I've even contacted Futurlab, and they said I could find it in this thread:
http://www.pspminis.com/forums/topic/velocity/page/7. I read it. A few times. It's not in there, right? They're crazy, not I, right??

Hmmm, I don't see it. And our resident Velocity expert seems to be away at present time.

onmode-ky said he was busy and would be away for a little bit. ApeZero helped me find one before, but he comes and goes. Huicho plays it a lot, maybe he'll be able to help you.

Hey Protector One, welcome to the forum. I will try and help you. I have an idea, but it's not easy. After you collect secret area pods, they disappear. I know zone 32 and 39 have some. By the way, Futurlab must of thought you were talking about bonus mission, because that page does show a post by Onmode-ky about an idea of where the bonus mission are.

I figured as much. Well, I'll just start combing level 14 then. I'll return when I finally find #1. :P Thanks.
It's weird though, because I already found some (at least one I am positive was somewhere in the first 13 levels), yet the Explorer 1 achievement is still locked. You'd expect the first one you would find to be #1. (Of course, I still might have missed it in 1-13… :O)Posted 9 months ago # -
Oh, by the way, if you tap the triangle on the level select screen, it drops down a mini map of the level. I found it useful in some cases of finding secret area pods.

I'm not sure, but it sounds like you may be misinterpreting the meaning of the achievements. They're for collecting the yellow pods that are specific Secret Area markers, not for simply finding areas hidden in the zone maps. It's pretty much the same as finding Bonus Missions, the only difference being that no mission gets unlocked. If I'm the one misinterpreting here, then you can just ignore this paragraph. Like, just pretend I didn't say the word "Gerwalk" in this sentence.
I have no memory of where any Secret Area or Bonus Mission pods are at this point, but I have a vague inkling [de geso!] that none of the Secret Area pods are in the first ~20 zones. You don't get long-form teleportation until Zone 18 or so, right (talking to the other veteran players)? So you don't even know about the zone map function, which is essential for finding several Secret Area and Bonus Mission pods, in those first zones.
Please note, I could be completely wrong. It's been a while since I found any new pods in the game.

Well you were almost right. :) Just found Secret Area #1. It's in zone 17.

Heh, after I wrote my last post, I checked the game and discovered that LFT arrives in Zone 16, not 18. So the first Secret Area being in Zone 17 does make sense. If nothing else, I did have a very strong feeling that it was not in the first 13 zones, where you had been searching.

I just expected them to be evenly divided over all the 50 levels… Oh well. I only need two more now. Thanks for the help.

You're welcome. Incidentally, if you haven't already read about it, be aware that Bonus Mission 14 has a bug where it doesn't actually register being beaten. So don't drive yourself nuts trying to find more pods to rescue when they don't actually exist. :)

Yeah, found out first hand already. :/ (Probably led me to finding this forum as well.) Hopefully they'll release a patch in the future. (Unlocking the achievement with the calculator is just weird.)

OK, I'm back. Anyone know where Secret Area 9 is? :P
I know it's not in the first 39 zones. (39 is the one with the FuturLab logo and "TSA". What's that suppose to mean anyway?)Posted 9 months ago # -
TSA is The Sixth Axis.
Posted 9 months ago # -
And The Sixth Axis is… a gaming news website? Why is it in the game?

This post--actually more the one following it--should shed some light on the question.
As for where Secret Area 9 is, all I can say is that I remember a disproportionate number of secret areas being in the final 10 zones. None of them were hard to find, though, so just check the zone map often.
