There was a version of Centipede for the ps1? Hmm, wonder what it was like & how it compared to the original.

The PS1 Centipede is the late 90s 3D-graphics game published by what was then Hasbro Interactive. I have the Win95 version of it. Hasbro had just recently bought the intellectual property rights of Atari Corp. (the former home division of the pre-1984 Atari Inc., as opposed to the former arcade division whose life ended in 2003 under the ownership of Midway, having been renamed by then from \"Atari Games\" to \"Midway Games West\") after that Atari died through bankruptcy following a reverse merger with JTS, a small hard drive manufacturer. Hasbro Interactive was later sold to Infogrames, which is what is now known as Atari, through a self-renaming a few years ago.
Anyway, I thought this Centipede was an okay reinterpretation of the classic, but I found it very difficult, what with the primitive 3D graphics, to judge distances (there\'s some platforming involved) and eventually gave up playing my PC version. It didn\'t help that the game only supported very early PC 3D graphics accelerators, so my more powerful video card went unrecognized; I had to make do with the lowest graphical settings.

Your planning on getting Trine 2 too? I heard they implmented an online coop as well as a local.Posted 1 year ago # -
there\'s an article on the playstationblog specifically for Trine 2. I only played the demo from the first, but was able to swap out the characters at will and play solo... This one sounds like you may have to play it co-op... which has me worried since I only have 2 controllers. If you can play online co-op with only 2 people I\'ll deff\'ly play with you sometime though. DarthDanMan, yes?

Yes, DarthDanMan. I\'d imagine that It would be like Trine 1 with drop in/out play.

Hey Onmode, thanks for the input. Think I\'ll pass on Centipede. Heard it has some serious framerate issues. Still, I am curious, so maybe I\'ll just look up a gameplay vid instead.

There are some good games on sale this week, but still no Gods Eater Burst. It\'s rare times like this I wish I didn\'t hate Facebook with a passion, so I could annoy the fudge out of D3 Publishers. :(

YAY Prehistoric Isle is finally out!! Gonna grab it ASAP!

This game is hard! It\'s like Gradius! If you die you lose all your awesome firepower and makes it harder to win!

So ... many ... discounts! There r quite a few games listed in them that I had already originally intended to get. Curses I\'m soooo tempted right now to go out & get me a psn card. Now that I think of it, it\'s sales like these that r holding me back from getting a 3DS. Decisions decisions, shall I continue to save for the system, or shall I bite the bullet & get me a card?

I don\'t know what you should do manslayer but I just bought Blokus for $2, good deal in my opinion. That and Trine 2 should keep me occupied until the new year. :-)

@manslayer:get a card and grab those games in sales, because sales are just there in a short period of time... 3ds will just be there in stores, and in the first quarter of the year 2012 will be a good time to be a 3ds owner because a lot of good games will be released, so by that time, i think you should\'ve atleast save some money to expend.
i\'ll be getting some grip games minis like arcade hits and doodle pool from bighead, priced at a whopping 1 buck XD... still waiting for some PS1 games and discoutns :)

@ Spanish_Bread:
U got a point. Maybe I\'ll shoot for the 3DS after I snatch up some of these SWEET discounts. Gotta convince my bro first though. Maybe he\'ll yield.Posted 1 year ago # -
Just picked up Trine instead Balrog. It\'s only $5 now. Will prolly still get Trine 2 after I\'ve finished mind you.
Also, I\'m very tempted to pick up the Capcom Classics Collection Reloaded. It has game sharing so I can play street fight or one of the shooters with a friend, and is only $5 now.

@confuletlyf:
me too, i\'ve been looking for weeks for a 2nd hand UMD of capcom classics reloaded (much better than remixed because of the game sharing feature), however until now i haven\'t seen one, 5$ digital version or 15$ UMD brand new??? most likely the 2nd hand versions costs around 10$ here in our country... so i still don\'t know if ill grab that big discount... kind of tempting really, but i actually prefer physical UMD for personal reasons...Posted 1 year ago # -
Since no one has mentioned the game yet, I\'ll go ahead and recommend Gun Showdown. It\'s apart of that sale and is a great western. I have the UMD, but I still may grab it from the Store.

Think I want both of the Capcom Classic Collections for completeness\' sake, and also so that I don\'t have to boot up my old xbox every time I want to play 1 of them old games. And at 5 bucks a pop, how could I resist? I would even get the Activision Hits Remixed, but I already have a umd copy so there\'s no point in that for me. But Megaman X is a game that caught my bro\'s eye, so maybe I\'ll pick that up too.

Just blew about 50 bucks on the psn store, acquiring Corpse party, another jrpg & Megaman x: Maverick Hunter for my bro, & both Capcom Classic Collections for myself. Also, in honor of P Daddy\'s recently being listed as 1 of the top 30 developers under 30, I nabbed me a copy of Revoltin\' Youth. Ah, what awesome retro-style music it has. That\'s 50 bucks well spent in my opinion. The 3DS can wait just a little longer.

No Power Stone Collection!? Ah well, at least you got Corpse Party!
Posted 1 year ago # -
Already got Power Stone Collection on umd. Another great game. And Corpse Party is already creeping me out. lol

Thought of getting one of Cabela\'s hunting games since they\'re all on sale but eh, I checked reviews/info on all 3 and none of them seem to be any good.
AI is apparently bad in African Safari with animals not even noticing your scent/presence.
American Adventures has a \'shaky\' effect when you aim which is supposed to imply \'arm tension\' but it\'s horrible in gaming.
The other one, Dangerous Hunts, is not a hunting game at all; more like a FPS with animals.
I guess I\'ll just stick to the two Carnivores Minis titles instead.

Well I bought Trine 2 and 39hrs later I ended up being the 33rd person to platinum it, and I haven\'t beat the game yet... : / Also the fastest person to platinum the game did it in 2hrs.

any idea if japanese PS1 imports already had a sale before? or no changes in prices since release? i really wanted to get those rockman series/games, i do wonder why capcom didn\'t include those on sales this week just like the other psp capcom titles...

Speaking of Capcom, it is a very Capcom Christmas on my psp this season. I\'m pumping loads of hours into the 2 Classics Collections & totally enjoying them. The Remixed version\'s set-up is similar to that of the console versions of the compilation, just a mixture of games from Vol. 1 & Vol. 2. Reloaded however has a more enjoyable set-up in my opinion. I like that I can unlock everything through playing a slot machine with the coins I earn from playing the games. Quite frankly, there r some games that I just plain suck at, but I still want to get the artwork/music for those games, & I don\'t want to have to cheat or enter a cheat code to do it. Thus, loading the bonuses up into slot machines & allowing me to earn coins to use in them just gives me more of a reason to keep playing those games that I am good with. The \"Checkpoint\" save system is also another interesting feature of the Reloaded collection. It is a fair one that doesn\'t allow people like me to abuse the heck out of the save system, because it automatically saves your spot for u at a specific point, like at the beginning of a stage. Finally, the game-sharing only sends specific game demos to other psp owners, but u can still link up & play with them in the sent game & earn coins for doing so. Overall, I am well pleased with both Remixed & Reloaded, the latter for all the reasons stated above, & the former because it is a different mix of games from both Vol. 1 & 2 of the console counterparts, & I can play it & unlock stuff wherever I want without having to boot up my old xbox.
PS: Very sorry about the wordiness of this post; just had to get my thoughts outPosted 1 year ago # -
I think I want Reloaded, but not sure yet. Final Fight and Bionic Commando arent in there.
Posted 1 year ago # -
i go with remixed Random, its what i got (too lazy to track down a UMD copy at the moment, have reloaded on UMD though). first game i played was Captain Commando, one of my fav beat em ups.
@SpanishBread: highly doubtful, although 2 is one you definitely want, minus Quickman stage its the best of classic Megaman ever!
@manslayer: you didnt say that much man!!! Atariboy s posts are usually long that i stop reading halfway through, glad to hear you enjoying it!!!

@ ChaosRandom:
Final Fight & Bionic Commando r both on Remixed along with Captain Commando, & Reloaded has the other beat \\\'em ups, which r The King Of Dragons & Knights Of The Round. By the way, this week\'s update is quite lacking, but I guess that\'s to be expected after last week\'s massive update. I remember Morgan saying on the playstation blog that it would be so, so I\'m not too bothered by it, since we did get advance notice.Posted 1 year ago # -
I went ahead and picked up Reloaded for the slot machine thingy. I\'ll play it whenever.

The Drop: Week of January 9th 2012
Okay week, in my opinion. FF Origins should excite you ol\' skool FF fans. I\'m excited about the XIII-2 demo.
I may pick up Mecho Wars. Depends on the price.
