just wanted to share this with you guys. ;)
from the picture it looks damn expensive (like 350 €). I don't know that it is something for me.
EDIT: posted in wrong section, sorry.
It really looks good but i'm going to wait for the price.
You guys should at least wait until it's announced. ;P
Seems it'll just be a regular PSP Go with a phone, touchscreen, and a camera built in. As the software it's been rumored to be demoed with doesn't seem more powerful that the current PSP.
this is not the final picture...
I know that. If you read that article, you'd find out that the mock up is based on an actual device.
Engadget has been pretty good with mockups, back in April 2009 they put out this mockup for what would eventually be known as the PSP Go:

We ended up with this:

How similar.
I've sold mobile phones for 10yrs now and they've come a long way. Smart phones are the way forward so this psp version may be a good contender to an iphone?
I point out that if the article is correct in the upcoming device using a Snapdragon CPU, then it will not natively be able to play PSP games. Games would have to be either recompiled or ported to it; emulation seems unlikely, as I don't think the new CPU would be fast enough to handle realtime translation.
At this point, it seems like it would play its own library of games.
I'm not too sure about it myself. I'm not really a phone freak like most people, so that aspect doesn't really impress me all that much. I am a HUGE PSP fan so, anything PSP related is good news to me, however, I'm still much more concerned about a PSP2 than a PSP with a phone. More than likely, it'll get it's reveal at the Tokyo Game Show. If they were to at least announce a PSP2 in development also, Sony would be sitting pretty with buzz.
Looks pretty nice. Touch pad thing seems a bit odd though, would like more info on that!
N-GAGE anyone?
Taco not included. I'd also bet that you're not going to have to disassemble the Sony phone to play a game.
It certainly looks like an interesting concept. It would definitely appeal to me (one less individual device to carry about) as long as the control system is kept sharp (I'm not a fan of gaming via touch screens because they aren't precise enough).
At this point, it seems like it would play its own library of games.
Hmm, I hope that doesn't turn out to be the case. I don't think that would be a good idea. The strength of the PSP platform is the games and so Sony need to be careful not to dilute the game market.
Mind you, having said that even if it had it's own specific library of games then I'd probably still buy one anyway as a supplement to my 'main' PSP. I always have my PSPgo in my bag, but there are times when I don't have a bag with me and it would be great to still have access to PSP-style gaming. I already carry a smartphone with me at all times, so if my phone had PSP functionality then so much the better.
