The way Sony explained the process of getting PSone Classics up on the Store, you'll have to check the Europe blog to find that post, is that they take the physical disc, rip it and then make sure it runs properly using the PSone emulator. Which can be a tricky process, because the PAL version, may not run properly on the emulator, while the NA version does. Then you have licensing issues that come up, for instance a brand (Coca Cola for example) or song, may have only have had a contract that only allowed the material to be used for the life of the game, meaning the lifespan of the PSone. So you end up with months and months of prep time and legal issues and sometimes a game still never gets released, or only see release in certain territories.
I would imagine PSP titles work in a similar fashion, which is fine, I can understand that, but at least tell me that. Tell me something. I get Sony cant put a gun to every publisher's head and make them give them permission to release their games on PSN.
What I don't get is why not just tell me that. Is it so hard to have one of your interns post on your blog saying, "Hey, this isn't our fault, and here's why."? I would say, "You know what, it sucks that I'm not getting games as often as I would like, but at least I know why. At least Sony is trying and keeping me informed.". But I don't feel like Sony is trying all that hard and I don't know why.
