Hi Paunchycow
I bought the initial version and have now patched this with the latest. It is an excellent game in both versions! The updated version (which is the version you would get if you bought it today) is better in my opinion because it is balanced a little more fairly and is therefore more accessible to most people.
I definitely recommend it if you like scrolling shooters! :-)

You should definitely buy this game!

If you have a fast right thumb and aren't turned off by old-school, memorize-to-survive shooting gameplay, then I think you will like it. It's slightly easier now than it was at release, but it's still no walk in the park. The controls are much more ergonomic now, though.
Once you've gotten some experience under your belt, you can start contributing to the Ace Armstrong high score thread, too!
By the way, I'm pretty sure you would have gotten replies without having written that request into your topic title. We're nice people here! No need to be paranoid! Well, maybe about the black helicopters that are after you, but not about this.

@Paunchycow
I agree with onmode-ky about you not having to put Reply Please in the topic. Out of the four-hundred or so threads here only 36 havent been answered.I too would like to know if I should get this.
p.s. I really liked WTF?! :)Posted 1 year ago # -
It's a good mini. Just be warned that it's fairly short and quite difficult even after the update, though thanks to Ace's flight through a shrink-o-ray and the button re-assignments, it is easier to handle.

Whats a shrink-o-ray?

I think that's a refrence to the fact that the hitbox has been made smaller... either that or... ah... um... nope, I got nuthin. ;)

Hmm, I think "Ace's flight through a shrink-o-ray" may be a reference to the guy getting some psychiatric therapy. I mean, getting killed so often really starts to get to you. :P
More seriously, I agree with thumbbandit that HiddenAway is most likely referring to the smaller hitbox. If not, then he's clearly been playing the wrong game, making his high scores COMPLETELY BOGUS, YOU DIABOLICAL CHEAT.

so, the shrinks name is Ray?Posted 1 year ago # -
Yes, that's my reference to the hitbox being smaller ;)

Not at that price. Even though the update has improved it in terms of difficulty, it's still not in WTF!? or The Flying Hamster's class in what it offers.

I'd buy it! ;) jk, but not really... ;) ;) ;)
Thanks everyone for your opinions, except Jeremy ;) - but hey, you'd recommend Stellar Attack instead, right? ;)

Ok thanks for the mostly positive statements. I'll put Ace Armstrong in my minis to buy list, right behind cubixx.

so, the shrinks name is Ray?
Well, if that were true, then "Ace's flight through a shrink-o-ray" would have left behind a bloody, pulpy mess. . . . I guess he could just claim it was the aliens that did it. Those Scumbags. We shall avenge you, Ray!
