   Is this Nintendo DS Ware game confirmed/rumoured for PSP?

   Is it ever likely to be released on the console??

   Is it worth contacting the developer and seeing if they'll port it??

   The game had any involvement from Nintendo.

   It is neither confirmed nor rumored for the PSP, but there is always the possibility. You can contact WayForward and tell them you want to see it on the PSP; you would be following in my footsteps. :) I have mildly pestered them about it every now and then since last summer (in a friendly manner, not like a creepy fanboy). They're a nice, and clearly talented, crew, and they're quite happy to talk with their fans.

   You can contact them via e-mail or try their Twitter accounts, WayForwardTech and Shantae_WF, and they're also on Facebook.

   WayForward is extremely Nintendo-focused, and as Shantae was a sequel to an obscure GBC game, I'm not sure they'd want to bring it to non-Nintendo platforms.

   They do have a PSP dev kit, though, and they have expressed interest in the platform in the past.

   Heh, I just saw that a few minutes ago myself. I actually knew WayForward were soon to release something for the PSP, outside of Minis, though not which specific title they were porting. I had surmised it would be Mighty Flip Champs, though, by process of elimination of prospective candidates. With luck, it will sell well enough for them to decide to port Risky's Revenge.

   It seems strange that it's not a Mini. I mean, it was a DSIware title, so it can't be that big. You'd think that having PS3 support would offset any other negatives the Minis platform has...

   God I hope it does get a port - I loved the original Shantae game for the GB/GBA (a cart that upgraded itself for use on BOTH?! Excellent work dev-team!) and it's just the kind of thing that would be perfect on the PSP. Maybe even a re-release of the original as a Mini?

    It's 800 points on DSiWare which would be like $8 so I can't imagine they'd want to upcharge on a port given they're a legitimate developer and not some iOS studio.

    They'll be porting this to iOS, hopefully the controls will be more along the lines of League of Evil.

    I'd like them to bring it to the PlayStation family, but it won't happen, at least not soon. The closest chance that might come is PSV--which doesn't help me, since I'm not an early adopter of anything. It looks like my cheapest route to playing Risky's Revenge will always be to buy a used DSi. Well, cheapest outside of stealing someone else's hardware.

    Anywho! Shantae: Risky's Revenge is releasing on Apple's App Store today. Keep hope alive, it may be ported over to the minis program too one day.

    I'm surprised they went with such a low price point, considering the DSi original's price. Granted, the iOS market isn't exactly welcoming of high-priced content from mainstream-obscure IPs, but I didn't think they'd shoot that low. Of course, this initial price is only temporary, like Mighty Flip Champs! DX's price that ends Tuesday.

    As for whether we'll see the game as a Mini, I'm inclined toward "hopeless." :(
