Hello,
I'm currently making a 2D tactical game on PC and want to sell it as a PSP Mini. But I cannot since I live in one of those countries not covered by Sony's developer program. I wonder if there are indie devs who already have their devkits and are willing to act as publisher to port and sell other people's games in exchange for part of the profit as well as additional exposure. (I could also sell them the game, or they could also charge a one-time fee for the port and submission assistance)
I know very well that this isn't as simple as in iphone where you have a buddy who already paid his $99 and is willing to dump anything in the App store in exchange for a beer. I am very serious and will be willing to fly to whatever country is necessary to meet and greet the dev who will do the porting. Of course I will try the bigger publishers but I also expect to be summarily ignored; whereas a fellow indie could use some teaming up.
This isn't an immediate request, but it could generate some discussion which would be helpful to like-minded devs. For my particular project it's coded in Python and hope to finish by summer next year in time for IGF. If people respond here in the meantime, we'll have enough contacts to initiate some talks.
What do people think of the idea? Thanks for reading.
