Nope. I saw Japan\'s first Vita commercial, and it was the lamest things I\'ve seen in a long time. Hopefully when the rest of the world finally starts showing Vita commercials, they\'re better than this.

...that was terrible O... it definitely didn\'t say \'handheld\'. If anything it said, \'steal this and run away.\'

It seems more like a Nintendo ad to me. \"Run from that thing, it wants your soul! Nintendo 3DS, now at a new low price.\"

PlayStation Vita 3G/Wi-Fi Launch Bundle
Pre-order the PlayStation Vita 3G/Wi-Fi Launch Bundle to receive over $55 in bonus content. It comes with an 8GB Memory Card, DataConnect Session Pass, and PlayStation Network Game. All existing PlayStation Vita 3G/Wi-Fi pre-orders will be upgraded to the PlayStation Vita 3G/Wi-Fi Launch Bundle. Offer valid when shipped and sold by Amazon.com, while supplies last. Amazon reserves the right to change or terminate this promotion at any time. Please read the PlayStation Network terms of use.Sweet, a 8GB to go alongside my 32GB one! That same offer is available to all 3G bundles from any retailer, not just Amazon. I don\'t know if availability will really be as limited as this blog post seems to want you to believe. I think it\'s a pretty good deal.
I\'ve noticed that alot of people seem to be under the impression that just because you buy the 3G version, you are required to have active service for the system to work. Not only that, but a lot of people also think that you\'ll be tied down to a contract if you activate the 3g. Neither of which is true.

To get the free data and PSN game in the bundle you need to sign up with AT&T on a contract tho.
Posted 3 months ago # -
And remember that the data plan from AT&T is not contract-based. You can start and stop as you see fit.

But you DO have to pay for the first month. After the the 30 days you get your free data and game. You just have to make sure you opt out before they poke you with the auto renew. It\'s essentially a mail-in rebate.
They have the info here on the PlayStation site. The 2GB data plan has changed to a 3GB plan.

I just think it sucks to have to pay extra for the 3G. I understand it, but I dont like it.

I hear you, broham.
Since I work at an IHG brand hotel, I get a discount on most AT&T plans and contracts, but I doubt Vita\'s plan will be available.

My guess is the game will be Super Stardust Delta.

That, or Escape Plan. I REALLY hope it\'s Escape Plan!

Good news! Shacknews.com has a confirmation from Sony that PS Store versions of PSV games will go for a discounted price. Apparently, some listings at Best Buy for digital content show a 10% discount off the physical versions.
By the way, is anyone else curious like me about why the PSV\'s game cases are blue? PSP and PS3 used clear cases, and nothing else about the PSV is blue. Just some randomly chosen detail to give it more distinctiveness?
Posted 3 months ago # -
I remember mentioning that before. The cases aren\'t transparent either. Not the ones \\\'ve seen on YouTube anyway. Sony seems to have a thing for blue.
When you see pics of the XMB of either the PSP or PS3, or Vita\'s LiveArea, the theme color is blue. The boxes for PSP Go\'s are white with a blue stripe dividing the box in half. Vita\'s PS button lights up blue when it\'s charging. The PS3 reads Blu-rays, PS3\'s, Go\'s and Vita\'s all have Bluetooth support.
Ok... maybe I was pushing it a bit towards the end, but I still say they have a thing for blue.

Hehe, \"LiveArea.\" It\'s like the opposite of Killzone and Dead Space.
Voice actress Yuu Asakawa apparently just bought a PSV and Uncharted: Golden Abyss. If/when a Resident Evil game comes out for it, she\'ll go nuts (she\'s a huge RE fan).

I was going to download all my games but then Sony announced that the highest memory card in Europe will be the 16 GB so now I\'m buying my games from retail. On a side note Gravity Rush is download only in Europe. Why Sony ? Why ?

you do know that apprently Psone and PS2 classics are incompatable with Vita??? thats what i heard...

Ofaliss, check out the playstationblog.
You\\\'re right dude, blue is taking over. Kinda makes sense, the PS3 has a blue light when you have a disc in
I saw that too sniper. It should be capable of playing them and hopefully they\'ll patch it quickly. The only thing I can think of is that Sony is trying to push launch title sales by limiting the content that can be played. Surprised they\'re even allowing psp content to play.
I don\'t know where I read this, but apparently the ps1 and ps2 content cannot be accessed in the playstationsuite for the Xperia Play, and speculation is that this is the reason it will not be initially supported on the Vita.
Hope they update soon since my Twisted Metal pre-order comes with Twisted Metal Black... though now that I think of it, nothing said it was a downloadable. I hope it isn\'t on the disc like the Assassin\'s Creed Revelations bonus.Posted 3 months ago # -
I know you can play PSone Classics over remote play not sure about PS2 Classics.

FuturLab Have you guys started working on any psvita project or will be starting anytime soon?
Posted 3 months ago # -
I am also a Day Oner :D I will be getting Uncharted, FIFA and maybe Lumines or Modnation and then I\'ll also be getting Super Stardust and Escape Plan off the store on launch day.

@Balrog
You know how sometimes you go to copy and paste something, but some how you end up with everything but the word you were trying to copy highlighted? Yeah, That\'s what I thought had happened.
One of my stupid moments. But in my defense... I got nothing. That was just a stupid moment.
I only have Ridge Racer pre-ordered. I had placed all my chips on Gravity Rush being released on the same day as Vita, but it\'s not. :( I was thinking about either getting Dynasty Warriors Next, or Ninja Gaiden Sigma Plus.
Since Dynasty Warriors was my 1st PSP game, it would be kinda cool to keep up the tradition, but I saw a Plus ad that had a shot of a chick in a leather suite. Her butt looked great in it, so I may go with Plus.

My first edition comes with that little deviants game... which I\'m honestly not excited for, but am very excited for the bonus Uncharted: Golden Abyss I get for free form best buy ^.^
Other than that I\'ll prolly kill some time with the free augmented reality games that are supposed to be bundled with the system, and get back to ClaDunX2 and Corpse Party until a demo peeks my interest enough to buy something else.
I\'m picking up Kingdoms of Alamur next week, and Twisted Metal on the 15th when I get my Vita, so I prolly won\'t be burning the batteries too quick for the first little bit.

I lied, there is another game I\'m excited for.

I suspect that the PS1 games will be playable at some point, with either a marketing decision or an emulator problem being the cause for delay, but the PS2 games on the PS Store right now would probably never run on the PSV anyway. Those titles on the Store are not actually bit-for-bit identical to their original PS2 disc releases. The PS3 never had a full software-based emulator for running PS2 games (launch models included the PS2\'s CPU and GPU on the motherboard, and the \"software-based compatibility\" models emulated only the CPU while still keeping the GPU on the motherboard), presumably due to problems emulating the PS2 GPU. Maybe it worked but only ran at half speed or something. Anyway, the PS2 games in the Store are therefore modified somehow to work on the PS3. My suspicion (I discussed this with Atariboy at the AtariAge forum several months ago) is that certain segments of code have been replaced with PS3-native code, in order for the game not to chug while doing on-the-fly PS2-to-PS3 translation work (which is what emulation is, real-time translation). If this is what they did, then a PS2 emulator on the PSV would have to be able to translate both PS2 and those PS3 instructions on the fly, and I think that would mean poor performance.
What they might do, and maybe this is easy since the PSV supposedly makes ports from PS3 fairly simple, is recompile those PS Store PS2 games to replace the PS3 code segments with native PSV code. Then the PSV\'s PS2 emulator would only have to worry about translating PS2 code. However, this would mean that you could not simply transfer a PS2 title from your PS3 to your PSV; you\'d have to go to your Download List on your PSV and get the PSV-playable version from there.
Or hey--maybe Sony already thought of this when they were starting the PS2 Classics project and already have PSV code, alongside PS3 code, in the Store\'s binaries. I doubt that, though.
Sony announced that the highest memory card in Europe will be the 16 GB so now I\'m buying my games from retail
CRyan1997, have you considered importing a larger memory card? If SCEE follows the SCEJ and SCEA practice of pricing PSV games lower in the PS Store than at retail, then maybe the extra cost of importing would be \"paid for\" in those discounts.
Posted 3 months ago # -
@ onmode-ky
Nahh, I\'m kinda warming to the idea of buying retail games, The slight discount is nothing to me when you consider you\'re getting the case. I\'ll just have my PSP games, minis and download only Vita games (Gravity Rush, Escape Plan, Super Stardust) on my 16 GB (which will run me up 49.99 euro.) So yeah I\'m happy.

On a side note do you think the Angry Birds mini will be compatible with the Vita\'s touch-screen ?
