Usually the Tower Defense game genre doesn't really appeal to me, but I also read somewhere that's it's an arcade/shooter game. So which is it? Judging by the look of some of the game trailers on Youtube "Paper Wars: Cannon Fodder" looks like it could be a fun game to play. If someone has played the game and could tell a little about the gameplay and replay value I'd be grateful.

@Rein
It's only a Tower Defense type game because you are trying to stop any enemy from getting past you (you are given targets for the maximum number of enemies that are allowed to slip past you). However, it's also an arcade type game because you spend you time aiming & shooting and not placing/upgrading towers.
I would summarise the game type as a Tower Defense/arcade shooter game where there is only a single tower in the game and you are manually controlling the lone tower, trying to mow down as many enemies as possible (and the enemies don't shoot back).
There is a good review on this website that provides more detail on the gameplay & replay elements.

Bingo! That's exactly what I wanted to hear. I'm probably gonna take the plunge now.
Thanks for your reply, volcane.

Any word on when its coming to NA?
Posted 2 years ago # -
Based on volcane's description, I would liken it more to Missile Command than tower defense.

I hope we see a release in the US. I checked the website and couldn't find any info so I sent an email. We'll see what they say.

I checked the tothegame.com website and it's not even listed there on the US upcoming list, but that could probably be down to an error or they haven't updated their site. Why wouldn't a publisher want their game out in NA?! Hopefully you guys will get it soon.
I haven't yet bought the game and would love to see more game impressions from you guys who're lucky enough to already own the game.

it's not available in my country. Bullshit guys.

Where do you live pspgamer01?
I take it that you aren't covered by the same EU PSN that we are here in the UK?

Holy demolition, Batman! Did I really say I wasn't a fan of Tower Defense games? Well, I take that back again. Now I am! I bought PW:CF a few hours ago and it is absolutely brilliant. The game is just so much fun and I'm guessing it will keep me entertained for a very long time. Wow! Seriously, this game is amazing.

@ volcane I live in the country with the best beer of the world (like 1000 different beers), the best chocolat, pralines and we found out french fries. Guess!

I thought tower defense games did not have you actually controlling the weapon batteries. And I know for sure they include battery placement before the enemy horde arrives. Seriously, I don't believe this game can be categorized as tower defense. No one calls Missile Command tower defense, after all.
Also, I had thought from his account profile that pspgamer01 was from Belgium, but his description obviously places him in ancient Sumeria. Either that or Starbase 273, near Deneb.

Yes, It's more of a "defence" game kind of the Famicom game, I forgot its title. The one where you're controlling some cute white creature on a makeshift elevator shaft on a cliff then you're shooting down devil-looking creatures riding balloons.

Aha - would that be Switzerland by any chance? :-)

Nobody's guessing? allright then I tell. I live in belgium and we don't have certain minis like this one. Also we don't have certain full digital titles.

@pspgamer01
Do you get all the SCEE titles eventually, or do you simply not get all of the titles released to the EU PSN?
Sorry to hear that things are tricky PSN-wise in Belgium dude :-(
Posted 2 years ago # -
I simply not get all of the titles released to the EU PSN. But hey it's not a real problem for me. I can always buy the UMD version. But for minis yeah they are just minis so it's a mini problem if some of them are not available in my country. :)

Hi everyone! :)
I'm happy that you've enjoyed our game! :) Although we made ourselves a goal to make the worst game ever, but I guess making perfect score also counts as some sort of price by way of consolation ;/
Slimwiggins -- when did you send an e-mail and to which address? I can't remember that one.
pspgamer01 -- we have hard times finding translator for Dutch language, if you would be willing to assist us with this one we would be happy to release game in your country and grant you redemption code in return!
Other than that, game is heading to the other EU stores and US as well at the moment, but it may take some time due to normal publishing turnaround. I will let you know the dates, and I believe we are preparing some surprise soon for all of you on pspminis.com :)
Cheers,

Thanks for that great news :)

@ Laszlo
I would like to help :D! Just give me a list that needs to be transelated. But we have a lot minis in out store that are English and they sell just fine. But if you really want to make Dutch, I would like to help. ;)

Nobody's guessing?
Dude, volcane guessed Switzerland, and I'm the one who pointed out, in my previous post, that your account profile says Belgium.
Ich kann Nederlandisch überhaupt nicht schreiben, aber Deutsch ist mir ein bißchen okay. 日本語も!

Dude, volcane guessed Switzerland
It was minutes before he posted that, he was probably typing before volcane wrote it.Posted 2 years ago # -
@onmode-ky
I don't talk Germans but I know what you said xD. That's what I like about the language! it's like a very old version of our language. I think there language hasn't changed for hundreds of years. but what do the symobls mean?
Posted 2 years ago # -
Hi all!
pspgamer01 -- great! :) And I'm talking about only PSP Store information, not the whole game, as this would require resubmission. The problem is that it is hard to find translators here, and even if we do, the contact is so terrible that we never been able to receive our Dutch translations :/
So -- how can I reach you directly?
BTW anybody have any comments about the game itself? I'm curious what did you like or not in the game, especially since we will be porting game to next formats and any feedback will be very much appreciated!
Thanks,
LaszloPosted 2 years ago # -
i am gonna contact you with the ifun4all website. Then you'll have my email adress ;). Send me to whole text that needs to be transelated!
Posted 2 years ago # -
but what do the symobls mean?
I believe that was Japanese,
for "Japanese"?
basically, onmode-ky was showing off in one sentence, that he knows several languages, well done.Posted 2 years ago # -
Hehe, yes, just showing off. :) To be specific, I wrote, "Nihongo mo," which means "Japanese also."
A Dutch coworker once said of the Dutch language that it's sort of like a combination of English and German, which makes learning English and German easy for Dutch-speaking people. I can't speak Dutch, but I've occasionally been able to understand what a news article in Dutch was talking about, thanks to parts of it looking like German. I seem to recall the Dutch word for "Thursday" looking a lot like the German "Donnerstag."
Posted 2 years ago # -
@onmode ky
true. "donderdag and donnerstag" it only varies a few letters.
Posted 2 years ago # -
@Laszlo - I went to the following website> http://blooberteam.com/test/ifun/
From there I clicked on the contact tab. It didn't have a specific email address@pspgamer01 - I don't speak Dutch but I can speak Swedish ;-)
