I've never understood the "shump" spelling that some [intentionally] use for "shmup." Nor the occasional capitalization. Where does it come from?
Yes, reports of my death have been greatly exaggerated. Say, is that a riverboat over there?
By the way, has anyone else here seen the ad that FuturLab put on the PSPMinis front page which directs to this very thread and has Ofaliss and sniper712's names on it? :)
Oh, and no, I did not finish Sly 1; I got as far as beating the first boss fight. I'll probably get the Blu-ray collection someday.

FYI, if you're getting the HD collection i heard they remixed the 3rd boss fight, which will be tough for you (probably). it's okay that you have no clue what i meant, but you'll understand when you get there, eventually.

Good morning human chums. Supreme Technical Overlord Robin from Futurlab here - just a quick confirm that Velocity will be available for everybody in about 12 days. Which is annoying and too far away. However as a bonus, you lovely chaps and ladychaps can have a free-exclusive-nobody-else-knows-about-it cheat mode. On the Flight Computer's built in calculator, enter 99999998 then tap the equals sign for Orange Mode. Which does exactly what it says on the tin. 99999999 then equals will change it back again. This almost entirely stupid cheat mode will only be posted to this forum topic and nowhere else, as a thank you for all your support - we really appreciate it!

Another classic Jubberism.
There's stuff hidden in Velocity that nobody knows about but Robin.
It was Robin's idea to add:
Flight Computer
Calculator
All the hidden mini games
All the hidden 'tweaks'
Credits game
Debris peeling away and flying up the screen toward the black hole, Vilio- and many more.
And by Robin's ideas, I mean - these features would just appear in the game overnight when we ran new builds!
Everyone working on Velocity had love for it, and it seems to be showing :)

Good Morning human chums - Benign Technical Commander Robin here. James' kind words will be rewarded with a biscuit of some kind when next I see him. As for you lot, I'm going to give you another exclusive cheat in a few days, and probably one more when the game releases. I'm also sure an enterprising bunch of chaps and ladychaps like yourselves will be able to find a few on your own - some are easy to detect. It is 5.30AM here in fog drenched England. I will scuttle out of my cave while people are asleep to steal discarded circuitry and wiring before returning to my lair. I am listening to Spybreak from The Matrix on my self-built headphones - it makes the scuttling more exciting.

@Ofaliss That guy you speak of is a very talented game artist named John Steels. He didn't work on Coconut Dodge, but we got him involved in Velocity. He is responsible for the vast majority of pixel art in the game, and that beautiful render of the Quarp Jet that we used for the splash screen, game icon, and the foot of our website: http://www.velocitygame.co.uk :)

As promised, groovy human chums - Astonishing Technical Wonderguy Robin here, with an easter egg or two for your viewing pleasure. If you click on the words "POWERLEV OS 3.1" in the Flight Computer operating system (yes, Velocity has its own operating system) you can cycle through a bunch of backdrops for the Flight Computer. Similarly clicking on the time brings up a bedside clock. Which is dumb but funny. And if instead of clicking on POWERLEV with the X button you use the Square button, you get a cool Community backdrop donated by an artist who is part of the Save Community project - he kindly agreed for it to be added to Velocity. Pop pop!
Why the goodies? Today Velocity is rated as the highest PSP game of all time on Metacritic. Won't last of course, unless all the user reviews are also insanely high, but it's so cool I thought this topic deserved a new easter egg. More to come.

Hey Robin, user ratings don't actually count towards the Metacritic average. All we need is more 9/10 scores and we'll stay high. Fingers crossed! :)
