This sucks, I have just started to enjoy my PS3 and new one is coming out?? Is too soon for a PS4. Here is the link: PS4

PlayStation Vita data plans for US revealed
Yeah, I got my PS3 last Sept. so it seems a little soon as well. Oh well. Let the hype begin.
I won\'t be an early adopter for the PS4 unless they make some major innovations on it with an affordable price. Wishful thinking I know...
I\'m not too concerned about a new system from anybody right now. I\'m just now starting to catch up on gaming on my 360, and I still don\'t have a PS3 yet.
It\'ll be interesting to hear what the 2 will offer though. I just hope they stick to what they have been doing their last to outings, and not try to go into the family friendly end of gaming.
If they pull some stupid controllers out or their butts, I\'ll stick with a 360/PS3 for the rest of my days. I refuse to support asinine controllers.
I have the 3G version of Vita pre-ordered because I\'ll get more for it when I sell it for the inevitable new model. But now I have reason to activate the 3G at least once, a free game!
Sony announced that they would not be making any announcements about a PS4 at E3 this year.
I point out that there are, of course, major annual gaming press events other than E3.
The PS3 is really just know coming into its own, at least it feels that way to me, and Vita is already a tough sale. I just don\'t see any reason why Sony would want to stop the PS3\'s momentum and make people question buying a Vita anymore than they already are.
Sony is the worst position out of the 3 going into the next generation.
I\'m going to flat out tell you my opinion on the Wii U. I think the thing sucks. Take it for what it is, I\'ll understand if anyone wants to call me a fanboy, but that\'s just how I feel. But it has Nintendo\'s name on it, so it\'s going to do well enough for itself to slip them through the generation safely, no matter how many units it ends up selling.
The next Xbox already has it\'s dedicated base that will grab a new as quick as, or when they can. They are the same people who willingly and happily bought multiple 360\'s after the RR0D got them. I think Microsoft has the safest outing this time out. Even though the new 360 dashboard scares me a great deal. It hints at the new XBox being the face of crap you don\'t want and didn\'t ask for on your system. An \"entertainment hub\".
Sony though. They\'ve had a real ruff go at this generation. Slow start with the PS3, customer loyalty is shot to hell. Proprietary being the name of their game. They left the PSP to fend for itself. They just did so much wrong that you forget about what they did right. They may not want to be last out of the gate, but being first is the last thing they want to do, in my opinion.
But I\'m a bit biased when it comes to this subject. I would rather have a new Dreamcast than a new anything (other than Vita) from any of the big 3. And when I say a new Dreamcast, I mean a new Dreamcast, and a NEW Dreamcast.
Personally, I think the time is ripe for the return of the Intellivision!
In all seriousness, I\'m pretty much done with consoles. I don\'t even own a HDTV, so pretty pointless (I have my 360 hooked up to my PC monitor, which is a bit silly since my PC is better than the 360)
Mattel tried a return to video games in 2006 with the Hyperscan. The system bombed (its launch games did not impress) and was cleared out from retail channels in a few months. Certainly, given its unusual shtick of combining collectible card games with video games, it was no Intellivision 2--or rather, no Intellivision 3--but it was Mattel revisiting video games in some manner, at least.
How about Colecovision coming back? That was the system with the technological edge just before the Crash. Of course, a comeback would hinge on the current \"Coleco\" name holder growing from tiny [maybe even already bankrupt?] iOS developer into a hardware manufacturer, which is a harder sell than Mattel trying again, eh?
I won\'t be buying a new system for a loooong time, I think. Over the past decade or so, I\'ve built up an enormous backlog, and I\'d like to actually play those.
I wish I had kept my Hyperscan. Sure the games were crap, but it would be cool to just have.
That\'s whats so crazy about this generation, no one seems to be ready to move on just yet. Like I\'ve stated before, I\'m just now starting to catch up on my console gaming. I\'m buying games that came out in 2008 and earlier for my 360. Still waiting on that PS3 and even had a brief moment of owning a Wii, kind of wish I had kept it so I can play this copy of Sin & Punishment Star Successor I recently bought.
Nintendo faithful will likely buy up Wii U\'s, but I\'m not too sure if Sony or Microsoft will see a high number of sales when their new systems release. I still know people who proudly still only own PS2\'s.
Yeah, I knew about the Hyperscan. It shows that Mattel still thinks about video games, which is something.
In all seriousness, if I were Mattel, or someone, I would consider making a relatively cheap box running Android with a couple of retro style controllers.
But then again, I\'ve had several failed businesses, so what do I know? But it\'s more fun to try and fail spectacularly than to not try and wonder. (Well, except the losing all your money part...)
I think the Wii U might flop, but it could be a cunningly brilliant move, if they can capture the casual game market (in the PC Game sense - Hidden Object Games). That Wii U tablet would be perfect for most of them, and it\'s a huge genre that the consoles have basically missed so far (though the Wii had tried)
It\'s two things people won\'t admit. Beyonce\'s music sucks, and Nintendo\'s sh*t can stink. If the Wii U flops, I\'ll probably have a heart attack from the shock.
You know, I just noticed that the spirit of the Hyperscan, in a sense, lives on in Activision\'s recently released multiplatform game Skylanders: Spyro\'s Adventure. Instead of using collectible cards to add content to the game, though, Skylanders uses collectible figures. In stark contrast to Hyperscan, Activision\'s game has sold extremely well, if the reports of sellouts I see at AtariAge are generally representative. Maybe it has to do with the fact that the game itself is apparently not bad.
OT: JeremyR, I saw a Gamasutra comment by you earlier today. Didn\'t know you were on there.
