Just like the Game Suggestion thread, I wanted to start a thread for us to recommend and talk about movies. Up until now our movie chatter has been scattered around. But any who.
I must have been living under a rock, because I had no idea that Total Recall was being remade. I usually stay away from movie remakes like they carry the black plague, but Total Recall actually looks pretty good.
It's been YEARS since I watched the original. I may dig it up and give it another watch. I just can't remember if it was on DVD or VHS. Hopefully it's the DVD.
I need to look up some more stuff on The Dark Knight Rises, find some trailers and such. I haven't really done much reading up on it, been focusing on The Amazing Spider-Man. It would be nice if someone posted a trailer or something, I'm feeling a little lazy today. :)
You never saw the original Total Recall? I've never seen it unedited, but it used to show up on TV so often years ago that it seemed almost like seeing it multiple times was unavoidable. :)
From the buzz I've been hearing, The Dark Knight Rises looks to be just as good as The Dark Knight (which I thought was absolutely spectacular).
I saw Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol for the first time yesterday and had a blast. Tom Cruise may be a controversial personality these days, but he still delivers some great action movies. As far as the MI movie series goes, MI2 is still easily the worst (sorry, John Woo), and I think I like MI:GP and MI3 better than the first.
Well I saw this Dark Knight Rises trailer when I was watching The Amazing Spider-Man. My friend I saw it with was practically gushing with anticipation. :-)

Heh, I actually have Totall Recall on UMD. (Also saw it in the theater when it first came out.)
But I don't like Hollywood movies much anymore. Pretty much just watch old ones (especially Rifftrax) and from other countries (Johnnie To is my favorite living director, at least his action stuff)
That trailer for The Dark Knight Rises was impressive. Being such a big fan of Inception, I'll go on faith and say it'll be good. Bane and Batman's first encounter in the comics do not favor the Dark Knight at all. I wonder how Nolan will handle their first encounter.
I was cruising through the bargain bin of the Amazon Movies & TV section, and I came across Serenity. I remember a buddy let me borrow the DVD back when it first came out, but I can't remember if I liked it or not. It has some pretty good reviews and the special edition is fairly snazzy and cheap as crap, so maybe I'll go ahead and buy it.

This is one of my favorite movies - The Resurrected
I have no idea how they get way with putting full movies on Youtube, but considering it's almost impossible to find on dvd, shrug. It's low budget, so kind of cheesy in places, but it's mostly well done and faithful to the HPL story. And has Jane Sibbett in it.
Jesus, is every Batman film from now on going to come with a tragedy of some sort!?

The Prototype looks pretty cool. I can see why a lot of people think that it is a movie version of Prototype.
The only real difference is that Alex Mercer doesn't hesitate to f*@k up his pursuers.
