I agree. Who says u can\'t have a console experience whereever u go? And that\'s exactly why I\'ve been hooked on my psp for the last 2 months non-stop, because I found these RPGs by sting & Atlas who\'s quality you\'d never see on a DS. Don\'t get me wrong, & I might even get a lot of hate for this next comment, but I still like the Pocket Monsters series on the ds. Still, I need a break from that stuff every once in a while, especially after training for 2 Videogame Championships & a local GameStop tournament. And that\'s where the psp comes in, to deliver me a more mature & satisfying experience on the go.

We don\'t give out hate here (unless its in team deathmatch.) And not all of us are diehard sony fanboys.Posted 6 months ago # -
there\'s a sale from open emotion studios minis... ninjamurai+revoltin youth+mad blocker alpha just for 4 bucks! i was about to buy ninjamurai, just don\'t know when, and then this day comes, hahaha so happy :D... i know you guys have some of these games already but i\'d just like to share my happiness in having this great deal in PSN XD

@ Spanish_Bread
It gets even better because Open Emotion said that they\'ll be releasing updated versions of all three games which add extra content, bug fixes, game-play changes and other stuff. Owners of the games can download the updated versions upon release for free. ;)

@ thumbbandit
wow! that\'s cool, extra content for free is totally awesome, it\'s like getting more than what you paid for... will look forward to that :)

@thumbbandit, has they said when they\'re going to add the updates? I wanted the bundle but it appeared a few weeks late and at this point I\'m not sure if I want it anymore. Thought maybe I should save my \'funds\' for a bit but I dunno.
@manslayer911, Atlus (not Atlas) has localized many RPGs for the DS too so I\'m not really sure what you mean there. Dark Spire on DS is awesome if you love old school dungeon crawlers and I don\'t see anything like that on PSP. Anyway, I have both DS and PSP so I have the best of both worlds.

I think he means games like the Persona series. Games that were built for consoles, but still hold up well on the PSP.
You get 3 great games for a great price, but maybe this will help you out.
Ninjamurai is a throwback to old school platformers, so if they aren\'t your thing, Ninjamurai won\'t be either. I\'m not a big fan of platformers myself, but once I got the hang of the controls and whatnot, I really did enjoy Ninjamurai.
Revoltin\' Youth has a pretty fresh soundtrack (it won best soundtrack). But, I have to be honest, and sorry if I offend P Daddy and the OE guys, but if you weren\'t interested in the game before you buy it, you likely won\'t like it.
I haven\'t played Mad Blocker, but a nice size group of people here seem to really enjoy it. So maybe one of them can help sell that one.

@ Freelance:
The games I refer to by Sting & Atlus r Riviera: The Promise Land & Yggdra Union: We\'ll Never Fight Alone. I know that those were originally games for the GBA, but the vast improvement over sound quality & the inclusion of voice-acting in their transition to psp is exactly what has me attracted to them. That, & they r both pretty unique in terms of their gameplay. Didn\'t mean to make it seem like I hate the DS, because I don\'t. I got 1 also, & sometimes, I like to go back to all those games I enjoyed like Retro Game Challenge, Mario Party DS, the Bleach fighting series, & yes, even Pokemon. lol Speaking of which, doesn\'t seem like I\'ve gotten any hate about that yet, so that\'s a relief. Usually when I bring that up, I get responses like: \"Psh, what r u, 7?\" to which I try to explain that the series actually requires a lot of thought & strategic planning, & their r actually tournaments held for the games, but yeah, they just don\'t listen.Posted 6 months ago # -
Haha, everyone likes Pokémon. Well except me. I like some of the monsters but I don\\\'t like the extreme repetitiveness of the anime and the games which have the same story over and over. I prefer Digimon over Pokémon. I don\\\'t go hating on people though.
Anyway I\\\'ve never played the RPGs you\\\'ve mentioned so sadly I cannot comment. I don\\\'t actually play many RPGs on handhelds (compared to other people) and I agree that PSP RPGs usually have higher production values but from I seem to infer by your posts, you like the DS but don\'t like its RPGs. I\\\'m playing through SMT: Strange Journey right now and it\\\'s pretty good. It\\\'s a dungeon crawler like Dark Spire but more modern-y. Don\'t listen to anything I just said though. Like I said I haven\'t played many RPGs on handhelds so I\'m not one to talk :D
I wanted Ninjamurai but after looking at gameplay vids it seems the object is more \\\'get to exit ASAP and avoid all the baddies.\\\' That doesn\\\'t seem like my kind of game. I like old-school platformers but usually in those games you fight things too. Great visuals though. For anyone who has played it, is the actual game similar to what I just described?
Not too sure about RY. It looks like Lost Vikings without the Vikings and I was terrible in that game so if this is more of the same I\\\'d probably won\\\'t like it.
The Alpha-whatever game does look cool though.

speaking of games, Freelance sort of helped me sold on the carnivores (got that pack before the sale ended), love the ice age, hate that stupid bird, would be playing that if it wasnt for Valkyria Chronicles 2 taking up all my PSP play time in general. RY is almost too easy in most aspects and the levels are short enough that most of them wont be giving anyone a headache really. i like pokemons too since i ve been playing that thing since red/blue, i dont care what people say (especially negative stuff) cause i just play what i want. speaking of DS, anyone ever tried 999?
Posted 6 months ago # -
I heard 999 was pretty good. Ign gave it a 9. lol I\'d like to try it though; it\'s supposed to be pretty intense.
Posted 6 months ago # -
You can fight the ninja in the levels, or you can just avoid them all. There are a number of Boss battles in the game too. Plus secret packages to collect. Videos and screenshots tend to not do any OE game justice.
As far as Pokemon goes, why is the hell does Ash and Pikachu keep losing to noobs in the anime!? Ash should be Elite 4 caliber at least by now, and Pikachu should be freaking level infinity! But he losses to people who just captured a Pokemon or total nubs! It literally makes me mad watching him loose to starter trainers every season, it\'s like, are you retarded or supremely retarded!?
Posted 6 months ago # -
lol I agree. Ash & Pikachu should be much stronger by now.
Posted 6 months ago # -
yep, like way things are in silver/gold/crystail/the remakes of s/g, level 81 pikachu, thats what i m talking about! still weak to ground though.
@manslayer
trust me, 999 will blow your mind and send a chill down your spines, its that good, avoid spoilers cause that will completely ruin the game for you, plus its pretty cheap now so go have a crack at it, you wont be dissapointed (probably).
Posted 6 months ago # -
Hahah so true. What really irks me about the games is having to fight trainers who have an \\\'uber\\\' team (or so they say) of 5 Magikarp or Weedles (ie any crappy Pokémon).
Another thing that irks me is why Team Rocket, who professes to take over the world, has a horde of grunts with nothing but Ekans and Koffings. If they\\\'re serious about taking over the world, at least give their henchmen better Pokémon!!! >_>
@sniper712, I don\\\'t recall recommending Carnivores to you. Glad you like it though! I don\\\'t like hunting that bird either. One thing I don\'t like is the Yeti though. Dinosaurs uber prey was the T-Rex. Compared to the T-Rex, a Yeti seems underwhelming. I don\'t want to hunt that crap when there\'s probably lots of other mammals that could easily take the spot instead.
Hmm, well I\\\'m still not sure on the bundle but you guys are starting to (slowly) sway me into getting it. I\\\'ll only have around 3 \\\'dollars\\\' left though if I get that and Prehistoric Isle (whenever the hell that comes out) and what if something awesome comes out later that\\\'s more than 3 bucks? Decisions decisions....
Posted 6 months ago # -
Freelance you didnt really recommend the game, i just got curious after hearing you talk about hunting the animals. its gonna be a while till i can get laser rifle (even longer with VC2 on my plate) but i know i will go on a rampage once i get that laser rifle, first one i m killing is that damn bird!!!!
Posted 6 months ago # -
Oh I see. I didn\'t realize my incoherent ramblings could get people interested in something, and ooooo you\'re going to love the laser rifle. It\'s my favourite weapon.

@Freelance
About the updates... I don\'t know much more than what I wrote on the earlier post... but if I were to guess, I\'d say early next year. And about Ninjamurai, it plays like a fusion of Sonic and Shinobi. You can be swift and use stealth, or go in guns blazing as it were (though not really, as there are no guns).Pokémon you say... have you tried Jewel Summoner for the PSP or Jade Cocoon for the PS1 and the sequel Jade Cocoon 2 for the PS2?
Posted 6 months ago # -
I had Jade Cocoon on the PS1, cool little game. Never got to play 2 though. Hopefully they both end up on PSN one day.
Posted 6 months ago # -
Jade Cocoon 2 wasn\'t nearly as cool as 1. The fusion was lame, all it did was unlock later evolutions of the monsters, and it was extremely Pokemon-ey, in a bad way.
