yeah Frima!!! Canada represent!! Are they the only original minis developer listed? I think the others specialize in mobile/iDevice ports.
Can't wait to see what cool games they all come up with!
Yeah, out of that list, only Frima is the one that sticks with Minis.
Honeyslug and The Game Atelier each have made one game for Minis, then ported it to iOS.
Stormbasic seems to be doing the same, but they make a lot of games.
Gameshasta seems to have sort of fallen off the earth. They were an interesting story, but made kind of weird games.
Sanuk and Beatshapers mostly seem to specialize in porting other people's stuff to Minis.
Given all these listings, I wonder if there won't be something like the Minis program for the Vita, as opposed to just the PS Suite.
I hope so. Even though it's cool Vita will also be able to play PS Suite content, nothing there will be tailored for Vita.
To my understanding, developers can just release already made content to be sold on the PS Suite. Is that true, or has it yet to be confirmed? Because I would love to be able to one day download all 3 Zenonia's onto my shiny new Vita!
I would love to see a new minis programme with the vita
maybe the filesize could be a bit higher like 250/500MB or something but keep it as 'cheap' and simple (no multiplayer and all that) as it is now, with everybody and his or her uncle focussing most assets on multiplayer on the consoles (Vita will probably go the same route) because I find it refreshing to have little bite sized single player adventures :)
Epic (Vicious engine would probably be cool as well) was onboard last time we heard about NGP so we might even get some FPS minis!!
and get some original stuff going, leave the Iphone ports to PS Suite
good news on Frima, I hope it's a new Zombie Tycoon with all the touch controls :D
The PSV has some interesting hardware capabilities that are innovative for the Playstation platform. It seems to me that a Minis program on the PSV would be an ideal opportunity for developers to experiment with the new PSV kit/SDK with minimised risk.
I was under the impression that Frima made games for other platforms as well. For certain, they were a Web game developer in the past.
wasn't that a tech demo?
Yeah, Frima does a lot of stuff (mostly web stuff and I think console development), but their Minis stay Minis, pretty much.
I wonder if Sony will be wanting to keep minis compatibility with PS3 when the PS Vita is released. If so it will probably mean minis developers will not be able to make full use of the new hardware offered in the PS Vita (touch screen/back touch panel/etc?) unless they opt for a full PSV/PSN exclusive game.
Hopefully some more minis developers will be added to that list before too long since there are still a few good ones missing.
