This showdown was bound to happen sooner or later. Two blockbuster shooters, two pilots, two badass ships. But only one can make it out alive.

Me personally, I choose Kai. Jefferson is my brosky, but he's honestly too stupid to out pilot Kai.

But, I think the USS Eradicator is a little more badass than the Quarp Jet. The Quarp Jet is awesome, don't get me wrong, but the USS Eradicator is made for blowing sh*t up! The USS Eradicator is the hand and the fan. Sh*t just doesn't stand a chance!

Edit: Since the topic is about the pilots, I made the pole about the ships. I didn't want to make two separate threads.

There's no contest; the Quarp Jet contains a miniature BLACK HOLE. And despite that, it turns on a dime, whereas the Eradicator is all sluggish. . . .

Quarp Jet all the way. You can teleport and you get a black hole.
Now for the best pilot, P. Jeffrson. We know he has personallity.

The USS Eradicator shoots multiple black holes! Along with heat beams, ice shots, partner ships, and can become intangible. You know what they say, you put enough monkeys in a room with a type writer and eventually you'll get Shakespeare.

Even with an idiot like Jefferson behind the controls, Kai is going to have hard time warping past all those attacks.

Well, Kai is way better looking...which has nothing to do with piloting I guess. The Eradicator, IMO, is the stronger ship and Kai is the better pilot by a long shot. James, would Kai take on a wing man? They would kick ass together. Of course Jefferson wouldnt be able to keep up.

Just because he's a dude, doesn't mean he can't acknowledge another dudes hotness. I'm not ashamed to admit David Beckham is a hot piece, which is the reason I hate him so much.

I dunno, I think Commander Jefferson is just a more fully developed character. What are Ms. Tana's motivations in life? To own a red Thunderbird and solve crimes like her father?

Good point... but with the USS Eradicator the enemy will 'not be there' (not intact anyway) by the time the bullets bounce off a heavily armoured pair of flying six shooters. ;)

I have considered this poll very carefully, and of course objectively. Last night I set aside two of my shiniest octo-core PCs to run the numbers - factoring in ship speed, manoeuvrability, warp capabilities, shields, munitions etc. Well the results are in and both machines agree - the USS Eradicator comprehensively wins if the fight takes place inside a cupboard. In deep space however, with room to move, teleportation nullifies all ballistic and ranged weaponry. Long range teleportation essentially provides a get-out-of-jail-free card if things go badly - the Eradicator is therefore best served by employing barrage tactics, seeding the surrounding space with munitions and pushing for a draw. That's the best case scenario. Worst case scenario Kai Tana teleports her smaller ship *inside* the USS Eradicator and holds down the fire button.

I don't think the Quarp Jet would fit. I'm pretty sure the Eradicator is about the same size as the Quarp Jet.

That's actually the thing with the Quarp Jet - it looks pretty small, about as wide as one of the capsules the people are in (which hold one person so can't be too big), but what does it do with all the people who get rescued? If it has room for dozens of people, it would have to be the size of a large bus.

According to one of the in-game images those pods have a lot more than just one person in each of them... at least 8, if I remember correctly.

but what does it do with all the people who get rescued?

Again, in an image found in the game, the people are teleported to safety via a Star Trek type tele-pad. The USS Eradicator houses only one (all be it very large) person, so one would assume it would be the smaller of the two ships.

I've always thought a surprise attack from the inside would be a great way to take out a D'deridex-class Romulan warbird.

But in this case, I have to agree; the Quarp Jet does not appear to be small enough to go inside the Eradicator (whose name does make it seem like it should be a large ship).

In case it wasn't clear, I meant that the "USS" part made the vessel sound like it was a capital ship instead of a fighter craft.
