theres already a couple threads like this (flash games and iphone games),
but i bring this up because there are alot of indie developers that havent developed on those platforms,
and many notable ones.
im a fan of indie developers on the pc not only because most of there games are free,
but because they demonstrate just how much they love games:
they love games so much that they go out and take a chunk of time from their lives to make games for you, the gamer, and ask for almost nothing in return aside from you enjoying them.
there are developers that show that kind of dedication to the video game industry,
and that is who sony intends to develop psp minis,
anyone can pay $99 and start developing apps for the iphone (and thats been proven by the number of (low-quality) apps there are lol),
the minis are meant for devs that really are devoted to what they do,
and i think we should list some of those devs
(even if they have previously stated that they dont plan to).
indie game dev's that you hope move to making (& porting their games to) minis

I went through a stage where played a lot of indie/smaller stuido games. I would say my favourite developer of this kind was Chronic Logic.
It would be beyond awesome if they brought Bridge it, Gish or god forbid Zatikon to the PSP. I'm getting excited just thinking about the possibility :)
Armadillo Run is also one of my favourite games of all time. Pity I don't think the developer has done anything else. Couldn't even tell you who the developer is.
Blast Miner is another one. Would love to see that developer do more and especially on the minis.
Come to think of it there are so many really cool and talented indie devs out there. It's hard to limit it but the above 3 would be my picks.

well ever since i played echoes (try it! right now!) by binary zoo studios, they/he instantly became one of my favorite indie devs,
i was hopeing that he'd ("fog")would move to making his games to psp,
so much so that i asked him,
but he said (although he was tempted even with the large cost of the dev kit) that he already was incredibly busy,
especially since he just started developing 360 games via xna (btw for those of you with 360's i would recommend that you try echoes+, especially if you liked geometry wars and asteroids.......) so he will prolly have way to much on his plate to move to developing for another platform.
but in a world where they did have the time, id want them to make echoes+ for the psp,
although it is a dual stick shooter, i think the everyday shooter psp (where the face buttons kind of emulate the shooting stick) control scheme would work well with it.
another game that would work well on the psp would be duotris(binary zoo)/duotrix(sequel for 360 (also indie games) by caffeine monster software)Posted 2 years ago # -
Well I went to try echoes but it crashed my machine. Unfortunately we don't have access to the xbox live indie games in Australia, so I can't try it on my xbox either.
Bummer :( It looked like a good game.

hmm,
that sucks!
do you know why it crashed?Posted 2 years ago # -
Ok, loaded it up again and it worked. Only played for 5 mins, but plan on hooking up my 360 controller for a full game session next time. First impressions are good.
Will let you know.

sweet!
appearently echoes+ should be out for pc soon (for free i believe)(sometime after christmas, hopefully it wont be too much longer (otherwise i gotta get a 360!)),
so youll prolly be able to get just about the exact same experience with a 360 controller hooked up to your pc as you would on the indie games service with the added advantage of not needing to be connected to the web to play.
(its also gonna be written in c# using the xna framework (obviously) (the first one wasnt), so if you have trouble getting echoes to run again, echoes+ will hopefully work for you)Posted 2 years ago # -
I remember a game I've always wanted to see on any contemporary system, a mini would be ideal. There were a couple versions, Spaceward Ho! and Strategic Commander were two of them. They were the 4X game genre (eXplore, eXpand, eXploit, eXterminate) with a theme of galactic conquest. They involved conquering planets, and on each planet you would build factories or science according to the amount of "resources" on each. With these factories you would build more ships and conquer more planets, building more factories, etc. expanding your domain. Eventually, you would run into the expanding empires of the computer and try and eliminate those armies to win the game. I’d love to see a mini like this.
