Hey guys
I realise this isn't PSP Minis related ( although the closing comments are :) ), but I just posted Part Two of our Vita development diary if anyone fancies a read:

It's a good read although half of it went over my head. :) So what type of game is it, and I would be pretty neat if Sony allowed you to update minis for the Vita.
It's Pub Games, so I'm guessing darts would be part of it. Honestly not sure what else one plays in a pub/bar, though. An old Ms. Pac-Man cabinet, Big Buck Hunter, Golden Tee Golf, and a pinball machine--but those wouldn't be in this. ;)
Minis specifically for PSV would need a new name, I think. Maybe a related name, but just the exact same name would probably confuse consumers about what played on what.
@ onmode-ky
Possibly pool and snooker would be included, maybe even a quiz of some sort. ;)
P.S. did anyone else notice the site going down yesterday?
There should be a game where you try to pick up women. Or trying to pick out the best looking one while your vision is blurred (and the lighting is dim).
That and playing pool pretty much sums up my experiences with bars.
I imagine they could just slap on a "Deluxe" to the name of the upgraded Mini. Or if they are feeling 90s-ish, "Extreme!"
We've got two titles in development on Vita currently. Regarding Pub Games, currently the core games are Pool, Snooker, Air Hockey, Darts and unlockable Bowling. We're debating extra small bonus games too, such as draughts.
Hi-res Minis, supporting Vita features would be very cool. Please Sony :)

Oh, he's talking about checkers, not small gusts of wind.
Rich, you know of PlayStation Suite, right?
Well, apparently Alawar did release their Vita game, Treasures of Montezuma Blitz. That's sort of an upgrade of their Treasures of Montezuma game, which was a Mini.
The other thing is that it apparently uses a Free to Play model. How, I don't know. But that could be something to experiment with...

It would be insanely cool, then I can get to play Marble Boy using the Vita's gyroscope! It would be even cooler if it used the AR feature! Have the little guy rolling around my living room and such! That's actually the first time I gave a crap about Vita's AR capabilities!
I'm guessing Montezuma's release was only in Europe? It's not in the Canadian store.
@Takao
Yes, only Europe.
It's been a while :)

Basically, if you want an edge, you can purchase various bits of DLC (crystals to upgrade your skills or a full pack of lives to save you waiting for them to replenish). Here's the prices and packs:
Treasures of Montezuma Blitz 3000 Crystals - £2.39
Treasures of Montezuma Blitz 8000 Crystals - £3.99
Treasures of Montezuma Blitz 15000 Crystals - £5.49
Treasures of Montezuma Blitz 30000 Crystals - £7.99
Treasures of Montezuma Blitz 100000 Crystals - £15.99
Treasures of Montezuma Blitz Lives Refill - £0.79
@Takao: Rich, you know of PlayStation Suite, right?
Yep, but as far as I am aware it won't really let you take advantage of specific features of the Vita. It covers a wide range of Sony hardware, so much like Android development I think it will be one game fits all type approach.
Actually, I do believe you can target Vita exclusive functionality, but unless you make it optional it's not recommended by Sony since you'll be lowering your audience. For example, I do know you can use front touch capabilities, as well as using dual analogs.
How big though, is the user base of Sony tablets and Xperia phones? Sony claims they've sold to expectations, but they had to drop the price of the Type S tablet...
It probably makes more sense to simply target Vita owners (if possible), since they likely will make up the bulk of the audience that buys games.
Based on all the people raging in the review section of Android games that don't support the Xeperia Play's gamepad, you would figure Sony has moved a good amount of them.
"The game deserves a 5, but I gave it a 1 star because it doesn't support the Xeperia Plays buttons."
That's a pretty common "review" on the Play Store.
There's at least 20 million Xperia handsets out there, and maybe a million Sony tablets if they're lucky. Sony does plan on licensing Suite to other hardware manufacturers. If it gets on HTC (which is heavily rumored), and Samsung the market expands dramatically.
