hey I got a feeling that my psp 3000\'s UMD drive is gonna give it up soon so I was thinking I should buy a new psp but I can\'t choose between a psp E-1000(89 euro) or a psp 3000(125 euro). What would you guys recommend?

If you don\'t really mind the lack of WiFi, I say go with the E. You\'ll still be playing the same great games, may as well save some money.

What\\\'s wrong with the 2000 model?
+ The 1000 fits in the hands better.
- It weighs a ton.+ The 3000 (and 2000) are light in weight, with a brighter screen.
- The scan-lines are off putting, and the colour looks weird (3000 model only).I\\\'d choose a 2000 model... failing that a 3000 would do I suppose. ;)
P.S. I love me some WiFi. :D

the psp 3000 is already barely available in shops. Let alone the psp 2000 xd. But I think the psp go\'s screen is the best. But it\'s smaller. I don\'t have one so yeah. I still have a psp 2000 though. 4 years **.

The PSPE-1000, I heard, has a smaller screen, no wifi and I think shorter battery life (not too sure about the last one) compared to the 3000. Naturally no wifi probably means you can\\\\\\\'t get on PSN either, or play online games. Kinda worthless when you think about it. The only good thing is that it\\\\\\\'s cheaper.
I\\\\\\\'d stick to the main models.
The \\\'scan lines\\\' in the 3000 is greatly exaggerated. Mine is just fine.

That\'s very true, I didn\'t notice and still don\'t to be honest, the scan lines.

It doesn\'t have a smaller screen and u can play psn games. check this
and I have been comparting my psp 3000 and 2000. with the psp 3000 on normal screen setting. In some cases the colors look better on the psp 2000 in other cases they look better on the psp 3000. But they say the psp e1000 has the psp 3000 screen without the scnalines.Posted 7 years ago # -
Never had a P2000 to check for comparisons but honestly, I don\'t see anything wrong with my PSP3000. How can you play PSN games with no wifi?
Posted 7 years ago # -
Download them using Media Go or a PS3, then transfer them to the PSP.
Posted 7 years ago # -
Oh stupid me. I forgot about them.

I haven\'t noticed anything wrong with the 3000 screen. Personally I would never get an E1000 as I have a Mac and wouldn\'t be able to run Media Go.
E1000 has a nice finish, but only has mono speakers and no wi-fi. I\'d get a 3000 personally but an E1000 would do a decent job as well.

i don\'t know if the E1000 also disables adhoc playing since there is no wifi... if there\'s no adhoc capability then there is no way to enjoy multiplayer gaming like that one i enjoy playing with a friend --> tekken... also other games like monster hunter -> just you fighting a monster...
but if you don\'t have friends to play with, then it is better to buy E1000 - since there are a lot of great single player games in PSP\'s game library... but personally i think adhoc gaming is a great feature that extends the way you enjoy games especially multiplayer gaming or even online gaming (btw i had fun playing medal of honor online in my psp), so i would prefer PSP 3000...

My intention is to be able to play my game collection (over 50 games). It\'s the time where I feel like I want to replay some of the gems in my collection. there is no adhoc for the psp e1000. I always wanted a black matte finnish psp. Maybe I am ever going to take them apart when they are fucked up so I can compare them and learn how they work. I just don\'t like to buy two of the exact same things. And when the vita comes out there won\'t be much of online multiplayer I think. So yeah I guess I am going for the E-1000 than. thanks for the advice.
@ chapnis
that\'s a good point. But no mac in this place xd.Posted 7 years ago # -
I kinda want a Go myself. I would only buy a 1000 for a deployment.
Posted 7 years ago # -
when the Go is $50 or less, maybe i\'ll consider, too small though, $$$ better spent on Vita games, and maybe another 3000 for me as back up.

@sniper
a go for 50 dollars and new will never happen. a used psp go probably but in pretty bad state.Posted 7 years ago # -
i know, thats the whole point, dont really want to get a Go, better investments in other stuff, say for Minis.

Speaking of mono speakers & psp go, does anyone know if psp go has mono speakers? I was playing Sega Genesis Collection & noticed the really long load-times that came from jumping between games & thought to myself, \"Hmm, have load-times gotten better, or is my umd drive beginning to age?\" A few hours later, I was thinking that it might, just might be about that time when I get myself a go, since I already have quite a digital collection & am in need of some serious memory space, but then that speaker issue popped into my head along with the 2 psp per account limit.

It has stereo speakers.
Posted 7 years ago # -
Thanks. I\'ll keep that in mind. Maybe when a little more of the year\'s gone by, I\'ll pick it up.
Posted 7 years ago # -
And for games you bought before September you can use them on 5 PSPs.
Posted 7 years ago # -
Save your money fir the psvita!!! But if I would choose I would probably go with the E-1000 as almost all games online multiplayer is dead anyway.

@pspgamer01
Dude save your money, and buy a Vita is almost here, and it will be able to play PSP games too, and Sony is rolling out the UMD passport thing too.
Posted 7 years ago # -
I think he\'s already stated he won\'t be an early adapter.
Posted 7 years ago # -
for P4G...as soon as i got the $$$ for Vita and a beefy memory stick i m getting it.
Posted 7 years ago # -
@Shazbots
I am gonna buy the new version of the vita in 2013 xD. And I am not gonna put over 10 psp games on my vita. Maybe one or two. vita is mostly for vita games. and btw I am preetty sure that the password thing is only for games that are already available on psn. You still need to pay for it though.Posted 7 years ago # -
I\'m with you pspgamer. I will wait for a slim or whatever they\'ll call it when they decide to make a new one. Just saying.

Had you brought this up during late November/early December, I would have recommended you import an American PSP-3000. Even with shipping overseas, the US$100 cost for one (holiday sale prices at several vendors) would probably have been cheaper than an E-1000.
Now, however, PSP-3000s are a) back to normal $130 prices or b) not available at all. E.g., Amazon.com is completely out of PSP-3000s (excepting overpriced Marketplace sellers).
