It was 6 dollars and 50 cents. Still near.

I was pretty sure it was higher at launch. Was I off?

The two minis that I decided to get regardless of price were Zenonia and Speedball, and both were well worth the price. ;)

The Game Boy Color Shantae, pricey now if you try to buy the original cartridge, has been rated by the ESRB for the 3DS. When/if it releases in the eShop, WayForward's original flagship is a recommended buy, based on reputation (it's often cited as one of the GBC's best games). Should be much cheaper than shelling out for the cart.

Jebus! My wife is out of town and I've logged over 65 hours in Diablo 3 in a matter of days. Please O, pull me out of this hole and back into the broadcast. I need those golds. Also, I've been playing the crap outa Arkham City. I'm scared to think what would happen if I ever became single. I'm not eating right, sleeping enough, I miss the little homies like crazy. Is this what a World of Warcraft basement dweller feels like?

Sounds like the life to me! Except for the absence of the little homies.
Those new maps are tough as crap! Me and some randoms did one on survival though, made it to wave 27. We had emplacements everywhere! Lasers, snipers, dampners, flak, and shotguns! I was packing 4 shotguns and raining down the pain on ground tubes, the other guys, well I don't know what they were doing, I was too busy shooting sh*t in the face!

I can get in some tube killing tomorrow. I'll just grab a nap when I get off in the morning and be on at around 11.
Posted 10 months ago # -
Sounds perfect. I actually cant believe no one in here wants to play with us.
Awesome game people!!!

More tubes for us!

Maybe if it weren't just for Xbox. :P

Screw a nap! Naps are for babies, nerds, and old folks, I'm ready when you are broham!

@ O - Just a warning about Alice Madness Returns. The timing of platforming jumps and dashing; and the combat dodging take a little getting used to. They aren't very intuitive and have been pissing me off from time to time.
Also for the PS3 (and probably the 360) there's DLC for $2 which adds better weapons and six dresses that each have one specific ability to each one.

Thanks Nexus. I've been interested in Madness Returns for a while, but was waiting for it to drop down to a decent price. I think I'll go ahead and buy it the next time I buy a cheap game or two.
I've been on the hunt for games that have a female lead. They tend to be more creative, IMO.

In what way is the creativity you're talking about? :P

i recommend Beyond good and evil, give it a crack...maybe.

Stories tend to be a little more creative and flushed out. Gameplay seems to be a little more refined. And more importantly, I rather look at a chick's face for 8+ plus hours, than some due with a permanent 5 o' clock shadow and has gone a few rounds with the ugly stick.
I guess when developers go as far as to think a protagonist that isn't a 30 something white male, or an angry black guy out for revenge, they may as well keeping all that brain juice flowing.

@Ofaliss
I meant to ask you this before but what do you think of the new Assasin's Creed 3 Protagonist?Posted 10 months ago # -
From what I've read, he's half English and Native American. I don't know anything about the story or the game other than that. I think it's great whenever different races are portrayed in video games, especially so when they are in leading roles. We spend so much time focusing on gameplay and story, rightfully so, but we forget the lack of diversity in games.
That's why I'm especially interested in ACIII: Liberation. A black French female lead is just too unprecedented to overlook. There aren't many games with female protagonist, and I personally can't think of a game that features a black female lead, so I'm pretty excited to see how they approach this character.

Looks like Atlus is having a half price sale. I dunno if I should get Class of Heroes for $7.50 or not. I've heard bad things about it, but I'm a contrary person...
Posted 10 months ago # -
@ Jeremy - I was looking those myself. I did some reading on those games on Metacritic and watching quick videos on YouTube. The prices seem right I just don't know if I would bother with the games.

The sad thing is I own all those games except Class of Heroes and Crimson Gem Saga and haven't finished any. Or in a couple cases, even started them. But I can't resist sales.
Posted 10 months ago # -
Random, you planning on getting Tony Hawk's Pro Skater HD. I'm going to need a buddy to suck a** with online!

I've pondered getting Crimson Gem Saga for years, but even at this price, I'm still not sure. It's partly the size of the Memory Stick footprint of the game and partly the fact that I'd prefer to get UMD-available games on UMD (of course, that's an expensive option in this case, if you want an unopened copy).
Trine 2 is also part of the sale. I've played the demo. It's an amazingly beautiful game, with pretty good mechanics (also, a ton of Gold Trophies, if that's of interest to you). It occupies a large chunk of hard drive space, though, and I don't think I'd stick it out to the end (what with the game being one of my worst genres, the platformer).

@ Jeremy - That's the sad thing. I've bought many games just because the price was right, but I never really bothered with them (ironically The Price is Right is one of those games).
@ Onmode-ky - I got Trine 2 for free with PS+ and still haven't put much time into and the first one I bought on Steam a couple of years back. They're not bad games, I just don't have much attention for them. Last I checked Trine 2 was under 2GB. Depending on what you have that may be a big chunk of space.

@Onmode-ky
I recommend Trine 2. It's a nice improvement over the original. But sadly I didn't beat it before I reset my PS3 so I don't know how it ends. :-(Posted 10 months ago # -
I'm not running out of PS3 hard drive space yet, but I consider any game footprint larger than 1 GB to be a bit undesirable. We already have to deal with multi-GB game installations, so I'd prefer downloaded titles to be trimmer.
Heh, the price of The Price Is Right was right. Nice.
Anyone have a recommendation on which of the 3 recently XBLA/PSN-released Wonder Boy/Monster World games to go for? I'm thinking Monster World IV, but I'd like to hear some opinions.
Posted 10 months ago # -
Holy crap. I took a look at the Wikipedia page for the Wonder Boy series to help in my decision making, and this is one confused series as far as game titles go. Not only do multiple games in the series have different but confusingly similar names across different territories, and not only do some games in the Wonder Boy series fall into the Monster World series, but you have a situation like the 4th Wonder Boy game being titled "Wonder Boy III" and also being the 2nd Monster World game.
Then you have more absurdity like some Wonder Boy games being ported to the PC Engine under the "Takahashi Meijin no Bouken Jima" name, which got renamed to "Adventure Island" for the TurboGrafx-16 in the West, which is not the same thing as the PC Engine game titled "Adventure Island" in Japan, which is actually a retitled port of a different Wonder Boy game. Holy crap!
Anyway, if anyone's curious, here are the 3 games we recently got on PSN/XBLA (using the American names):
- Wonder Boy in Monster Land = 2nd Wonder Boy game, also the 1st Monster World game (the Japanese title had the words "Monster World" in it)
- Wonder Boy in Monster World = 5th and final Wonder Boy game, also the 3rd Monster World game, titled in Japan as Wonder Boy V: Monster World III
- Monster World IV = not part of the Wonder Boy series, the 4th and final Monster World game; the title actually makes sense for once
