I\\\'m thinking of buying a racing game on the PSN store. I already have the 2 Wipeouts and Test Drive Unlimited (love the free roaming) but I was thinking of getting one that focuses on racing and doesn\\\'t use power ups and stuff like the Wipeouts.
I\\\'ve actually already decided on Burnout Legends (which has lots of good reviews) and I realize from the reviews that it\\\'s not strictly pure racing as most of the time it\\\'s about the crashes but it sounds a lot of fun and it\\\'s only 10 bucks so it won\\\'t break the bank much. Has anyone played it? How\\\'s the controls? Is it easy to go through turns and stuff without spinning and crashing? As fun as Wipeout?
I was hoping to get a game with actual licensed cars though, and I had thought of Midnight Club 3: Dub Edition. It is pure racing but from reviews it said that you have to know the city in and out to win advanced races. You simply can\\\'t just follow the other cars and hope to pass these races. I\\\'m terribly bad at remembering crap, and this is an entire city to memorize. It\\\'s also 10 dollars more than Burnout which isn\\\'t good for me as I currently have no money (more or less) and don\\\'t want to spend too much right now. Also, I hear the UMD has really horrible load times which turns me off but since this will be a digital version I\\\'m thinking it should cut it down a tad but it\\\'s not always the case. I\\\'ve heard of other games which as worse on digital format as opposed to UMD. Has anyone played this game digitally and can tell me how fast it takes to load?
So anyway, what are your thoughts on either of these 2 games? Any opinions are fine. Note that I have never played a Burnout OR a Midnight Club game. If you want to recommend other racing games, go right ahead and I\'ll do some research on them. Keep in mind that I prefer a game with no powerups/weapons and no, don\'t recommend Split/Second as it\'s not the kind of racer I want.
