Yeah, I can see your point Chris. But, to play devil's advocate, sometimes a game has potential but is flawed. If the game has some sales success, but maybe not alot, and is hit hard by reviews that point out it's flaws, the developer is more likely to develop a sequel/followup and attempt to address those flaws to expand the audience. (I'm looking at you, Scribblenauts) If the title doesn't sell at all, then the developer might not get a chance to make another game.
On the other hand, if a game is totally worthless (ever play the PSP title "Pocket Pool"?) Then I believe it shouldn't be supported at all.
To sum it up: Flawed effort=maybe worth support, piss-poor effort=don't ever make another game again please.
But that's just my opinion.
