Trailblazer snook onto the European PSN... It\'s not in with the new releases, but hiding out sheepishly in the Mini A to Z. I can\'t for the life of me see why they did this. I decided not to wait for the review and pick it up, and I\'m glad I did.
The game itself is a reaction racer with you being the only participant, and though the file size is quite small (less than 30MB) the in-game graphics are top notch. The premise of the game is to race your vehicle (which looks quite like the front wheel off a light cycle from the movie Tron) along a track made up of multiple lanes (think an Olympics 100 metres track) with various bonuses and hazards scattered across them, all the while trying to pick the optimum lane at the correct time to achieve the best time possible. Though Having only played the first few races I was able to get a feel for the game. All in all a highly polished game well worth the asking price. ;)

I found a review for TrailBlazer over on the PushSquare website. ;)
For anyone curious, here is a gameplay video.

I think that Trailblazer review was out on the supposed release date of the game, when people couldn\'t actually find it in the PS Store. Pretty sure that\'s the one I read while trying to figure out the game\'s EU release status.
I\'m not sure what to make of this one: as of this writing, the highest-rated Mini in the North American PS Store is P.O.W. - Prisoners of War, a game which got a pretty poor review from Jasper. It has a whopping (for a Mini) 50 user ratings, averaging 4.82. Even if you disagree with Jasper\'s review, you have to admit that the game is a very straightforward, plain-vanilla beat \'em-up. Having it at the top spot is kind of like discovering that the highest-rated Wii game of all time is an unremarkable, budget mini-game collection (a purely hypothetical example).

None of the anime series mentioned in that phantasia game seem like anything to get excited about, onmode. I like my anime a lil more involved, and much more violent when I can find it.
Seeing some of the new Vita bundles is making me regret my first edition pre-order. Good thing I\'m getting Uncharted for free.

Well, Slayers, Blood+, Read or Die, s-CRY-ed, and Darker than Black are all series I\'ve enjoyed a lot over the years. Of those, Blood+ and Darker than Black have their share of blood-letting and violence, though if you\'re talking along the lines of Ninja Scroll or Fist of the North Star, they\'re not in that league. Heh, technically, Slayers is the most violent, though, given the nuclear blast-level power of the Dragon Slave--not even mentioning the universe-ending capability of the Giga Slave. Oh, the carnage wrought by Lina Inverse if someone should take her food!
Speaking of whom, I wonder if the most expensive voice to get in the whole game might have been Lina\'s Megumi Hayashibara. She\'s voice acting royalty at this point; getting her to fit doing a voice role nowadays into her schedule (I think most of her time is spent on her radio show now) might have required some cajoling. And that, in turn, could mean licensing the Japanese voice tracks for a Western release might be really expensive. . . .
Ofaliss, I\'ve heard of Redline, but I don\'t know anything about it. I haven\'t looked into the title at all.

Man, I couldn\'t get enough of s-CRY-ed when it aired on Adult Swim. Still can\'t. That final fight between Kazuma and Ryuhou (I think I spelled that right) was the epitome of epic!
Can you believe that there actually are people who didn\'t enjoy that show!?
On the topic of Read or Die, I really want to watch the series, but the collections are just stupidly expensive. Even the Bluray re-release was outrageously over priced at release. A re-release that even the hardest of core fans said wasn\'t worth it.
I hate buying volumes because they take up shelf space, but I may have to suck it up this time around.

I honestly don\'t remember much of s-CRY-ed these days, but I do know I liked it enough that I quickly went and bought the whole series on DVD. :) The intention was to watch it more closely once again (I think I missed some episodes/plot points here and there), but to this day, those discs are still shrink-wrapped.
Read or Die\'s Blu-Ray release was so outrageously expensive because a) it was marketed to be a collector\'s item and b) the publisher (Aniplex) probably wanted to maintain close to parity with Japanese pricing, most likely to discourage reverse importation. I think certain Japanese IP owners look at the current poor health of the packaged-anime market in North America and think, \"You know, instead of licensing our stuff to an American publisher and getting a cut of tiny profits, let\'s just sell our stuff on our own at the price we want and get a few extra sales on top of our domestic revenue.\" They probably decided that the few hundred or so sales to die-hard and well-funded American fans makes them more money than a licensed-out release making a few thousand sales at a more reasonable price. :( Let\'s hope we don\'t soon end up back in the days of 30 minutes of subs-only anime for $30.
Incidentally, I got the full 7-disc set of Read or Die TV on DVD, along with both soundtrack CDs, in late 2007 from RightStuf.com for $80. My Vol. 6 (the one with Yomiko on the cover) got signed at Otakon 2010 by the series\' producer, director, and character designer, who were at the con together to promote their new movie project. I also got character designer Ishihama-san to draw and sign for me a really cute sketch of Yomiko. :)

Lucky bastard...
On the topic of Blu-rays, is it just my city where I live, or do Blu-rays seem to be decreasing in availability? Where I live, the closest major electronics dealer are a few Best Buys, but they are about 45-50 minutes from where I live. So Walmart and Blockbuster, yeah we have one, are the only place to buy new movies here.
Thing is, every time I go to either, the DVD count increases, but the Blu-rays decreases. If you don\'t grab new release Blu-rays, if they even get them in, when you first see it, chances are you won\'t see it again. I\'ll order some from Amazon and such, but I don\'t like buying Blu-rays/DVDs online that have slip covers, because they tend to be jacked up upon arrival.

Is it cause people dont give a crap about Blu Ray. Well I dont anyway.
Posted 3 months ago # -
Me neither honestly. I only buy combo packs since for $5 more (usually), you get 2-3 copies of the same movie, if it includes a digital copy.
Posted 3 months ago # -
Just got done watching Redline, and man, Madhouse was not playing! Imagine a copy of Akira and a VHS of old Speed Racer episodes had hot dirty relations behind a 7-Eleven, and a child was created from that union. Redline is that child.

Who has seen that movie Parents and Hobo with a Shotgun?
Posted 3 months ago # -
Hobo with a Shotgun is f\'ing amazing!
Posted 3 months ago # -
I\'ve never seen either film, and I didn\'t even know there was a movie called \"Parents.\" Wait, did you mean a movie called \"Parents and Hobo with a Shotgun\"?
Ofaliss, so you\'re saying Redline is a sedate, calm, fluffy romantic comedy, right?
I haven\'t seen any decrease in Blu-Ray availability, and my local Best Buy appears to have expanded their Blu-Ray section. I\'ve never really looked for Blu-Rays at Wal-Mart or Target before, though.
Certainly on the short list of cutest PSP games of all time: Nendoroid Generation.
I\'m seriously considering Heroes Phantasia. It seems to have decent reviews; supposedly, it\'s even more fun the more familiar you are with the shows, and I know just about all of them (and can read a measure of Japanese). Sadly, only the limited edition, already out of stock everywhere, has full voice (meaning even more Japanese reading is required for the regular edition), but it\'s too freaking expensive anyway. Heck, the best price I find get on the regular edition is ~$80. Where to get that money. . . .

Any pc nerds in here? I recently read the system requirements for Diablo 3 and I\'m a little worried. I have a 2.2 and it says a 2.8 is needed at a minimum. I\'ve been waiting on this game for 20 some years and it MUST run on my system.

Yup.

@ChaosRandom
Can\'t help you sorry. In my opinion a PC has too many up-to-date gameing requirements so I just buy a new one every five years or so and I\'m done with it. That\'s why I like Consoles more. You get about 8 years out of them. The only thing I think I\'m missing out on right now is TOR. *sniff* *sniff*Posted 3 months ago # -
I use to play PC, until I took an arrow to the knee.
Hahah most over used meme ever. Sorry I had to say it.Posted 3 months ago # -
@Hellboy
What\'s up little dude. Good to see you alive and well. Well, except for that knee anyway.
@Balrog
I agree 100%. Consoles is where its at! Its just that I love Diablo like hookers love meth. Before this past Christmas, I was using a thinkpad from 2005 that the Army gave me for free just for doing a few college classes online. It sucked, but I added some RAM and rocked Diablo 2 without any problems. I gotta nice Toshiba now.

Please, little dude... Never use that meme again. It stirs up a rage inside me that if unleashed, will result in me putting my foot up many unexpected a**es.
You may have to go to a site that have nerds who specialize in computers and ask your question, Random.

I actually don\'t know that meme at all. . . .

Are you talking about your CPU\'s clock speed (in GHz) here? If not, then I don\'t know what those numbers could mean, but if so, you might be able to run the game at lowest settings but with some occasional chugging. However, it may be the case that the game\'s installer won\'t even let you install the game; I\'ve had at least one occasion where a PC game checked my system and decided that, since some aspect of the machine didn\'t meet the minimum requirement, it wouldn\'t do the installation at all.
Posted 3 months ago # -
I was trying to set up a talking dog ym daughter got for Christmas last year, the installer wouln\'t run because my screen resolution was too low -.-.
The cheap laptop I was using wouldn\'t let me increase the resolution either.Posted 3 months ago # -
I thought I\'d share this set of pictures of some very pretty-looking Vectrex merchandise. I\'ve never seen any Vectrex stuff in real life, and I\'d never even heard of the Vectrex until the Internet came along, but man, that does look like a sweet collection. Apparently worth some moolah, too, if you read the thread.

What happened to the game giveaways?
Posted 3 months ago # -
These are hard times chapnis, I think mini developers are wise not to lessen their income with giveaways... at least until things pick up. Over 90% of my gaming budget is spent on minis. ;)

@O
I refuse to go to other sites. I don\'t have friends on other sites. And I expect all of my friends here to NOT have friends outside of here. Let me catch one of you. Dare ya!
@onmode
Yea it was clock speed, but its not a huge deal. I\'ll buy a new rig if I need to. I\'m a baller. (I think that\'s what the kids are calling it these days). You ever hear how much I keep in my PSN wallet? Lol
