Silent Hill was pretty good.
And I thought the first Blood Rayne was okay in a B-movie sort of way. Oh sure, no Sword & the Sorcerer or Hawk the Slayer, but watchable.
This seems to be a list of them
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_films_based_on_video_gamesI really need to watch that DOA movie

DOA was alright in a not the worst movie I've ever seen kind of way. I attempted to watch The King of Fighters and stopped about 30 minutes in. That's how crap it was. Tekken was alright though.
I haven't seen many movies based on games other than the Mortal Kombats, and Resident Evils. I did see Doom. Did not care for it. Advent Children is awesome. I also enjoyed The Spirit Within.

I might get Silent Hill. Thanks for showing me that Wikipedia article.

Haven't seen many movies based on video games. The only Pokémon one I liked was Pokémon: Lucario and the Mystery of Mew. I also liked Advent Children and RE Degeneration.
The rest I've seen are blah, like SMB

I thinkI'veonlyseen "Prince of Persia". It was okay without high expectations.Scratch that. I've also seen FF Advent Children (thanks to Ofallis) and Spirits Within. They were good movies.

Prince of Persia was awesome IMO. Advent Children rocked, but I didnt like Spirits Within. I liked all the Batman movies. Silent Hill was really cool. I hope they do a Halo movie.
Now are we talking movies that became games later or games that become movies. It seems to me that most movies make horrid games. Anybody ever play Legend of Bruce Lee on Xbox? At one time, it was rated lowest scoring game on the console.

I have always wanted a Halo, Metal Gear Solid, Final Fantasy, Kingdom Hearts and Metroid movie. And most of all...
...Golden Sun. Even a book would be satisfying enough.Posted 11 months ago # -
huicho, wouldnt it be hard to get all those characters in one movie? LOL Just imagine the budget. Ha!
Posted 11 months ago # -
Disney could make a KH movie, assuming they want to.
huicho619, FFVII AC is a FF movie, so that's something.
I forgot I saw Prince of Persia. It was horrifying.

@ChaosRandom
Are you talking about Golden Sun, Final Fantasy, or Kingdom Hearts? They all have a lot of characters. Besides, you can do an animated movie.
@Freelance
Thank you so much for telling me! YIPPEE!!!Posted 11 months ago # -
huicho619, these aren't exactly movies, but there is also a FFV OVA (Legend of the Crystals ) and a FFVII OVA (Last Order) if you're interested in seeing those. There's also a FF anime which I haven't seen called Final Fantasy: Unlimited.
Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within is another FF movie, but in name only. The movie itself has literally nothing to do with the franchise.

All in one dude. How cool would that be? lol

A Kingdom Hearts movie would likely cost a sh*t ton to make. The story is confusing, long, and Disney and Square would have to decide where to start and if it would all be worth the effort. I honestly think it would be another The Spirits Within (profit and reception wise), but it could do well. I personally would love to see a CG Kingdom Hearts movie.
I remember Roger Ebert was a big supporter of The Spirits Within. Too bad most others weren't. They had some pretty big ambitions with that movie. The CG Actors were intended to be actual actors, that would appear in other films. That would have been pretty cool if that had took off.

I hope you're ready for the rise of the bots, Freelance. They are Terminator like with their persistence. I'll be over here behind huicho while you take care of them.

I've seen the Dead or Alive movie, and to my surprise, it wasn't too terrible. Mind you, it still doesn't come close to the first Mortal Kombat movie, as far as fighting game movies go. That would be the benchmark. The second MK movie is terrible, though, like in a "How did we get this junk after the first one was so good?" kind of way. The Chun-Li Street Fighter movie is awful; it's weird listening to the commentary track, because the participants seem to genuinely believe their film is really good.
I liked Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within a lot. Saw it in the theater with 2 friends, one of whom shared my opinion and one of whom was the complete opposite. As for FFVII: Advent Children, despite owning several copies of it, I still haven't seen it because I haven't finished FFVII. I own the DVD set of the Final Fantasy Unlimited TV series but haven't watched it yet. The FFV OVA I saw over a decade ago, and I think I liked it, but it's a vague memory.
The Prince of Persia movie was . . . well, I didn't think it was junk per se, but it was a bit of a letdown. It felt so straightforward, and the character dynamics seemed extremely artificial.
One video game "movie" that I'd like to see, actually an OVA series, is the adaptation of Salamander, the Gradius spin-off that some of you may know from its altered form, Life Force. Unfortunately, it seems to be both rare and forgotten.
Another video game movie I'd like to see, more out of curiosity about its poor reputation, is Gunhed, released at about the same time as the Gunhed video game (which, as Freelance will tell you, is known as Blazing Lazers in the West).
this code provide the TANK...!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Bot or not, that's a strange thing to do, following an ellipsis with a mass of exclamation points. What does that mean? You trailed off, when suddenly you spotted Solid Snake?

Would also love to see that Salamander OVA.
Finally played Super Mario Bros. and.. I gotta say... the old maxim is true, it really isn't as good as the movie.
/bad humor

huicho, dont blow onmode's head up. He just puts on a show anyway. lol
In the Army, we have a score called a GT. I think we base our smartness off of that. Dont get me wrong though, we're a bunch of dumb asses.

Maybe, like, 5? Could be 6 when I'm unconscious.

Dude, you ain't foolin' anyone. That's a kind of car, and you don't have them in the Army.

Hi guys, i like to play games online and on xbox360.Mine favorite games are:
1.MAX PAYNE
2.GOD OF WAR
3.CALL OF DUTY
4.CONTRAPosted 10 months ago # -
Favorite video-game movie, Mortal Kombat. Not so much the second one, but I don't mind watching it for the hell of it. I also seen all 3 Fatal Fury movies. Cheasy as hell, but I don't mind. Tekken blood Vengeance is alright. I like that one more than the other recent live action Tekken movie about Jin Kazama. I'd still like to watch the DOA movie, & the remainder of the Resident Evil movies, since I've only seen the first. Street Fighter the animated movie which was included on disk with Street Fighter Aniversary Collection was also a decent film in my opinion. Street Fighter AC & Tekken 3d Prime Edition r the only games I know of that included a movie as part of the game. I wonder if there're anymore such games like that. And I'm not including Megaman Maverick Hunter x, because that unlockable short film was only about 20 minutes or so.
PS: It would be very cool to see a Metal Gear Solid movie, but nowadays, the cut scenes r so damned long that it would probably have to be really condensed in order to fit everything, or it'll have to be a spin-off of some kind.
