Are they developing a sequel or what!? I enjoyed it up until it the ending and now I'm pissed off! I won't spoil it for anyone who hasn't played it, but COME ON!
The game really needed an instruction manual or better in game tutorials. I didn't figure out until the last level, that hitting the jump and attack buttons at the same time makes you jump higher. I only figured that out because I was stuck with no where to go because I couldn't jump high enough. I just did what came naturally and started pressing a combination of buttons until it got me some where. Also, pressing the jump button while swimming gives you a short boost.
Visually it's a little blurry, but it's not as bad as what it said in the review. The one thing Jasper hit hard on the head though, was not being able to always tell what in the environment will harm you or not.
If your running through the game, which is WAY too short, the difficulty is not a problem. But if your trying to get everything in a level... good luck with that. But in all honesty, I don't recommend you try to collect everything anyway. You don't get anything for your hard work and you can't go back and collect what you missed once you finished the level, without starting a new saved game.
But it is a fun platformer that gives you a lot of freedom in the short amount of time it takes to beat it. The soundtrack is great, it may look a bit blurry, but it's still a visually appealing game. It's not too difficult and still provides you with a challenge if your looking for one. I just wish the ending (or lack there of) didn't piss me off.
7.5/10
I feel compelled to call it the Freekscape of 2011. A great mini, that for some reason, won't show up on many peoples best of list.
