I popped my Chronicles FF4 disc into my PS3 and played up until Cecil takes Rydia to an inn. No slowdown; battles and menus kicked off right away, without loading delays. It seems to be the only remake Square did on the PS1 that doesn't suffer in that way. However, playing the game reminded me of how primitive the game's graphics are, being an early SNES title (there was also some bizarre flashing in certain backgrounds, possibly an incompatibility symptom on the PS3). Things probably come out looking much better on the PSP.

Eh? The packaging makes no reference to anything like that. Was that a preorder bonus or something?
Has anyone played The After Years and can comment on how substantial it is, as far as gameplay content?
The DVD I ordered from the Play-Asia.com sale arrived today. As I had suspected, the final copies they had in stock were, in fact, first editions. :) Play-Asia, in my experience, typically does not restock movies and music after their initial allotment (i.e., items go from "ships in 24 hours" to "ships in x days" once they run out, and the status rarely if ever reverts). So the one I ordered, being in stock, stood a good chance of being a first edition.
