This site has a great community, but it seems peace is coming at a cost, the inability to say what you want, without being policed.
I started a thread a few days back about hackers, and how they help ruin the PS3 community. I expressed my dislike for the sort of hackers that release codes that lead to cheating and piracy, and in my expression I used profanity, and other comments that would be deemed as hurtful. A few members here took issue with what I said, and what a few others said and it made me think, what is getting along with everyone costing me? Does getting along with everyone mean I have to give up the right to express extreme discontent?
I love not being called a noob because I don't have a 4.0 killstreak in Call of Duty, or not being looked down on because I'm not a PC gamer, but why should it come with a G rating? I can understand intervening in the disagreements that happen here sometimes, I've done that a few times myself, but policing what others say is too much in my opinion. Especially if your expressed discontent isn't even aimed at anyone at this site.
So what do you guys think, should we have to always censor ourselves?
