Gamestop is selling a 320GB PS3 bundle with Uncharted 3 and your choice between Skyrim, MW3, B3 or Arkym City for 299.
Dang, that sounds pretty good. But I wont do business with GS. Walmart also has some console bundles, but I would need to look at them again.
Rather than the 320 GB Bundle, I'd recommend getting the 160GB bundle Sony's offering at all retailers. You get LittleBigPlanet 2: Special Edition, Ratchet & Clank: All 4 One, and the aforementioned PS3 for $199.
Yeah, but a hard drive is one of those things you can never have a big enough one of.
I dunno about that Jeremy. I have a 160gGB, and after thinking it was almost full realized I had 20 demos that I didn't want to play. I'm back under 30gigs free now, but still have a couple of trials from my ps+ subscription left over. If you plan on dling a lot of titles, then yeah, the bigger HD is a much. I have about 4 full games dled (the borderlands bundle from the special being one very large one) and plenty of movies and music and photos (though images don't take much space).
If I needed to free up more room I can keep the movies on thumbdrives and play directly from the usb instead. I don't think the 320 is worth the extra cash.
Its sad to say that my XBOX has a 20 gig HD. I need another one bad.
Was it just me or did those Amazon deals look crappy? I didnt see anything good.
It wasn\'t just you...
If you check Ofaliss\' link right now, there are some nice PSP-related discounts today, particularly for XSEED-published RPGs. The $100 PSP-3000 deal already came and went; it lasted for about 2.5 minutes, while I was trying to decide if I really ought to buy a backup for my PSP-2000 from 2008 (of course, there are other $100 PSP-3000 deals coming later this week at other retailers).
Anyone else think a backup PSP (for UMDs) is a good idea? Unlike with PS2 disc backward compatibility, which might conceivably return in a future PlayStation home system, there is just about 0 chance of any future device, handheld or otherwise, being able to play UMDs. Couple this with the fact that a PSP is exposed to a wider range of temperature and humidity conditions than a home system; average UMD drive life expectancy might be significantly shorter than home system optical disc drives\'. What do you think?
only if you have the $$$ really, i have the tendency to keep my systems (portable and console) in good condition so not really necessary. eventually with $$$ this is just trivial stuff since $$$ can solve those problems. that is all. my 2 cents.

I think you misunderstood my post. I wasn\'t talking about my system having been treated poorly. Rather, I meant that since a PSP is portable and gets taken outside, it is subjected to atmospheric conditions which can lead to shorter life in its internal systems. You know, weathering. Sure, I don\'t mean things like direct rain, but unless you somehow keep your PSP on you in a climate-controlled pouch, simply being outside can cumulatively hurt the system.
Both editions of Fate/EXTRA have been added as last-minute entries (weren\'t there earlier) to today\'s Amazon.com gaming Lightning Deals. The standard edition one is ending very shortly; the limited edition one will then kick off.
You have to ask youself: Is it worth paying $100 as insurance now than waiting till its $50?
Do you really think that\'s the way prices will go? For products that stores just have too much of and can\'t unload quickly enough, I would agree, but no one that I\'ve seen is swimming in stock of PSPs. GameStops do not appear to carry any new PSPs at all, and stores like Target, Wal-Mart, and Best Buy never seem to have more than a handful on the shelves (unlike those piles of Wiis, Xbox 360s, and PS3s that Best Buy has out on their floors). Forget about online, too; Amazon Marketplace sellers actually want more than retail price.
As another example, those rare times of late when I\'ve seen new DS Lites still for sale, they haven\'t been much lower than $100, maybe $95 or so at best. And they were more in stock in their final days than PSPs are now!
I should note that I have no interest in picking up a used model (which could certainly be a much lower cost), since that rather defeats the purpose of investing in a backup. For all I know, that used one could have an even more worn-out UMD drive.
Well I thought Sony might do the same thing its done with the PS2. Selling it for $100 after the PS3 was out for awhile. And if they did that for the PSP also you could probably get the $100 PSP on sale because the Vita\'s coming out. Maybe not as low as $50 but lower than $100 I think.
Don\'t expect the PSP to drop too much in price once Vita comes out. Sony will likely continue to sell it at it\'s current price, or reduce it down to $99 at the cheapest, but I highly doubt it will live on near as long as the PS2. Once they stop manufacturing them, it\'ll be open season for sellers.
So if you need a new one, or think your current one may not last much longer, I suggest you grab one in the next year. I may pick one up myself, you can never be too confident when it comes to a PSP\'s disc drive.
@onmode-ky
to be honest, nowadays my 3000 is usually at home pretty much at all times, that combined with how i handle my systems does help alot, i might get another one for backup but only if i got some extra $$$ to spare. good old ninty has the tendency to build longlasting systems (my lite still works fine and i had it for at least 4 years or so).
Everything is digital for me so I can take it all with me when I eventually get my Vita.
I am amused that today\'s sale price at Amazon.com for Dissidia 012[duodecim] was duodecim dollars (and it wasn\'t because of the game\'s title; all the Square Enix PSP games that were on sale were that price).
I only grabbed 2 copies of Gears, but I wont get it until Christmas.
good to know you didnt get trampled Random! at least you didnt get pepper sprayed by some crazy woman.
Ha, yea I heard about that. Also, there was a shooting at the mall here in my town. I think it made national news too. Crazy shoppers.
This is quite past Black Friday, but for this past week (through today, so hurry if you\'re interested!), Toys \'R Us stores have been selling PSN cards, as well as those for the other systems and also Facebook (huh?), at a 10% discount.
Thx bruv. Thats a pretty good deal. I just dont like Toy R Us. Dont they also have a buy one get one 50% off on select games?
I may pick up a card and add to my wallet. Nothing at the moment on PSN I want, but you never know, Gods Eater could go on sale soon. Or maybe even Dead or Alive Paradise! Those brea... er um, graphics will look NICE on Vita\'s OLED screen! :D
I think it was Sniper who told me GEB was only 30 bucks with DLC. Im checking now.
@onmode-ky
Facebook tokens or something for Facebook games.
@ChaosRandom
Any other Chain-Stores you don\'t like? :P
Naw, I think just GS and Toys R Us. Lol
I stay away from Wal-Mart as much as possible.
ChaosRandom, I think TRU did have a \"buy one get one 50% off\" games sale, but I don\'t remember whether that was for this coming week or last week. I do think it wasn\'t limited to a certain selection of games, though.
I ended up getting a pair of $20 PSN cards at the local TRU. Neither has been scratched yet, though, in case I manage to find an even better deal somewhere else in the run-up to Christmas.
