I think this game is very fun... well worth the price. ;)

I bought Apache Overkill yesterday and it's OK for the price (less than €3) if you like these kinda games. However, when I reached level four I wanted to take a break from the game and try another one. Then I realized there's no option to save the game progress meaning you'll have to start all over from scratch each time you pick up the game. That's usually a no-go for me with games so I thought about how much fun it actually would be for me to play the same levels over and over again before proceeding to new levels in Apache overkill.
When it became apparent that the game isn't that fun to begin with and I dislike most games without a checkpoint game-save option I just deleted it and thought well I couldn't have gotten a beer for that price at the local bar anyway so maybe three Euros for 60 minutes of entertainment wasn't so bad. I wouldn't recommend the game to anyone else though unless you really like this genre. 4/10

Apache overkills is just a port of a free flash game. So I wouldn't buy it. Instead, buy Archiebald's Adventures, that game is so awesome.

Well it's a completely sort of different game than Archibald's Adventures. You also can't really play flash games on the PSP (at least not very well).
Anyway, I think it's pretty fun, except that save game issue (You'd have to be awfully patient to get through 99 levels, as well as good).
But my problem is that I can't quit the game. At least the second time I play it. I try to quit using the menu and it hangs at the "Please Wait" screen. The music still plays though.
Sleep mode also doesn't seem to work. That is, you push the power switch up quickly and nothing happens. For that matter, you can't even turn it off by holding it up a long time. At least I can't. Tried several times, also downloaded it again.

this game is such a waste of time. you better try to beat hard mode in The Flying Mamster instead.

@JeremyR
How strange :-(
Do you happen to know if the PSPgo pause function works with the game?
What with the lack of save game function, it's almost as if the developers have tried really hard to prevent you from leaving/returning to the game!! ;-)

Dude, that title sounds like something about airborne mammaries . . . which, I suppose, would essentially be the opposite game of Chou Aniki! Actually, come to think of it, Koyori from the Sengoku Ace/Blade/Cannon scrolling shooter series rather fits that title.
I have not changed my mind about (not) getting Apache Overkill. Making it to the end of that game sounds way more tedious than repeatedly trying to survive Ace Armstrong. Geez, 99 levels with no stopping allowed?

Well, strictly speaking, the levels aren't really levels like in Ace Armstrong and Flying Hamster. Basically it's just the backdrop and the sort of enemy you fight that varies (there are 4 different terrains and it alternates between them).

@ onmode-ky
you are gonna laugh more with this one: I made a typo with Homerun Hitters, I typed Homerun Hitlers instead Homerun Hitters! xD I was Roflmfao

Thanks to everyone for their thoughts on this game. ;)

pspgamer01, nice one, though I still think "flying mamster" beats it. :) You can really milk that joke.

PlayerThreeUK have said they are looking into this and hope to fix it with a patch, and also add some sort of progress saving :) When this happens, I believe this game will be awesome, it's already pretty good in my opinion. And quite cheap too, which is always a nice bonus :)

Hello fellow gamers. I just received an email from the developers of Apache Overkill, regarding the bug of the game. The following is a reply I got when I ask them if we were going to be able to save in between levels?
---------------
HiNo saving between levels at this stage, although we may add it in the future, we
wanted to get this bug fixed first. Sony's QA can be a lengthy process so we
wanted to change as little as possible in order to fix the bug.Cheers
Pete
------------
At least they fix the issue with the PSP not quitting the game. But hopefully they will add the save in between levels feature soon.
