I may as well start a topic for Ace Armstrong scores, since I've discussed them in another topic:
Rookie: 23413 (reached Stage 4)
Pro: 5375 (reached Stage 2)
Elite: 1839 (reached Stage 1 boss)

I will try get some scores up soon.

Would have done better had I not lost lives at a crucial part of the game, causing me to miss scumbags. I know a way to get very close to evanac's score, but I need to learn the 4th level a bit more to figure it out - or maybe, I should just use regular weapons for all bosses from now on :D
Hes coming for you evanac!!!
And he'll do it to - sadly I'm busy with other stuff now so my Ace playing days are gone for the time being.
I actually said in the blog a while back that there's several thousand more to be squeezed out of the game than my posted high score (I've done this myself, but without the proof!).
Good luck to all the score chasers out there. I know you'll get me. ;)
I know you'll get me.
Heh, Al acknowledges that
RESISTANCE IS FUTILE. WE WILL ADD YOUR BIOLOGICAL AND TECHNOLOGICAL DISTINCTIVENESS TO OUR OWN. YOUR LIFE AS IT HAS BEEN IS OVER. FROM THIS TIME FORWARD, YOU WILL SERVICE US.
Ah, I think I've discovered something in level 1 of all places :D
Sadly, it's causing me to gave over :P
I can't wait for the USA update!!!
when is the update coming out?
hopefully soon.
The update is coming out on November for NA PSN store.
On the 16th
I just bought the game 3 days ago, but its harder then HELL!!! I am so freakin' close to beating the first boss, but when I get to her she just slaughters me. I really need to get that gun that shoots those big energy blast that can take out a Scumbag Saw in like two hits!!!
I just beat the first level on AAvAS!!!! But then I died on level two, very early into the level. (This game is still harder then hell.)
My score (on Rookie) is: 4061 (Pretty bad huh?)
Atleast I killed the first level!!! :D
@hellboy546
that's why im waiting for the easier version ;)
after playing crazy hard games (Prinny: can i really be a hero? .. anyone?) , i just opt for more 'fun' game. i dont want to stress myself.
Can you save once you pass a level? You know in case you want to try another game and then resume later on, like on level level 2?
@Hellboy546 and Solo the Hutt
Have you guys ever try the hardest game ever? Is call Ultimate Ghosts 'n Goblins for PSP and is $9.99 on the PSN store.
I have played that game years ago but I gave up.
@Shazbots
No you can't save after a level. (Which sucks.)
@Hellboy
Games like Ace Armstrong are all about going for the highscore, while they could make it with highscores per level (selection) I just dont think it would be as good.
I would LOVE it if you could pick which level to play in stead of all ways starting on the first level.
Trust me, you won't need to once the update goes live. You should get half way through on Rookie pretty easily. :)
Glad to see people are still playing. I might have to see if I can get a game this lunchtime. ;)
@shazbot
no. heard of it tho'
did u finish the game?
Saving after a level is a bit pointless in a game with only 5 levels and which is only about a half hour long. You'd probably consider yourself all done with the game in a single day's worth of playing; "Oh, I've already seen everything the game has to offer." This is a game about making the most of your abilities in one shot (one shot, plus the PSP's sleep/resume feature if absolutely necessary, though it will probably result in a death or two). Granted, I would have liked a Stage Select practice mode, to decrease the time required for learning the stages, but I'm all for the game not letting you retry from partway through. Now, if it had 99 levels and took 20 hours, that would be a different story.
Incidentally . . . this thread is supposed to be for high scores, not discussion of the game. :) There are other Ace Armstrong threads in here more appropriate for that. That said, my high score has not changed, since I haven't played the game in a while.
Hi Scores for new version:
9552 Rookie
Now this game has been patched, and a lot of the issues that people (like JEREMYR and myself… and many others) had with it first time round have been fixed tweaked and/or greatly improved for the better… how about a re-review, as it stands the original review is a little harsh considering a lot of the negative points the review razes about the game are fixed. ;)
P.S. Sorry onmode-ky for hijacking your thread.
Seconded!
Am I even allowed to have an opinion on this? ;)
@Mediatonic Jim (if you're even reading this!) - GREAT job on WTF? it looks so great and I liked it from the moment I saw the first images - I am really envious (in a healthy, positive way!) of the work the Mediatonic team's done, and, as I try to do when look at any competitive product, will try and learn as much as possible from it! ;)
Once again, awesome job. You're making minis a better place! :)
Sorry the above post is totally off-topic for this thread, but I figured credit where credit's due.
:)
In the style of Columbo,"Just one more thing..."
A big thanks to everyone who's tried (and hopefully enjoyed!) the updated build of Ace Armstrong; I really appreciate it. You guys are awesome! :)
Now, back to the posts related to actual high scores! ;)
