Hello all,

version 2.00 of A Space Shooter For 2 Bucks! is live, mostly consisting of bug fixes...but also it contains...

THE RETRO CONTROL CHEAT!

That is right, no more inertia for those of you who wants tigher controls!

Here are the steps :

1. Like every cheat, go to the credits screen
2. Enter : Triangle,Triangle,Triangle,Triangle,Cross,Cross,Cross,Cross,Square,Start

If you did the sequence correctly a message should appear at the top of the screen.
To go back to standard control, simply do the same sequence again.

I'll post all remaining cheats sometime this week...

Meanwhile, enjoy!

P.S. This cheat is only accessible in version 2.00 of the game. To get this version you must first delete your older version and download again from the PSN Store. Your old save game file will still work, so don't worry about that ;)

It's not, we patched both version of the game. I believe the UK version will go live today.

Thanks, Frima. :) The game feels a lot better to me with the inertia turned off (Identity25, inertia is the tendency of objects to retain their current vector of motion; in terms of this game, it's the "sluggishness" of response when you try to change the player ship's direction). I took a run through the final stage and managed to beat the whole thing while still having shields left at the end (and half of what shield loss I did have was due to trying to run across the screen once during the "guess which is the real me" portion). It was great not having to fight the controls while dodging fire. :) I also attempted several times to best my Insane Survival score (with a base ship: 0 upgrades) of 17,304; however, it seems that was a particularly good run of version 1.00, and I haven't passed it yet (and still haven't gotten past the first boss).

Of course, thanks for patching the game to eliminate the big bug, too. Now the only (known) bugs in the game are THOSE ALIEN SCUM!

Who put me as a thread tag? Balrog? So, if I'm a tag, am I "it"?

Aw, man, tag? I'm so bad at that game. I can never make the first jump, and then I just run out of Continues. Say, MickD, do you have any cheats for that game?

Er, Balrog, what happened to . . . "Balrog"?

FULL CASH = LEFT, RIGHT, LEFT, RIGHT, CROSS, RIGHT, TRIANGLE, TRIANGLE, SQUARE, START

FILL OVERDRIVE = DOWN,LEFT,UP,RIGHT,TRIANGLE,TRIANGLE,CROSS,CROSS,SQUARE, START

SLOW MOTION = CROSS,TRIANGLE,SQUARE,RIGHT,LEFT,RIGHT,RIGHT,SQUARE,SQUARE, START

HI SPEED = TRIANGLE,CROSS,SQUARE,LEFT,RIGHT,LEFT,LEFT,UP,SQUARE, START

As usual, you have to go in the credits before entering the sequences.

The invincibility code I discovered on my own (but never used) has been officially revealed! Ah, my timed exclusivity comes to an end. Woe is me.

JeremyR, I'm not sure if that would be worse than a topless code for Jenna. They're both head-turners of the "Whoa, look at that train wreck!" variety.

Why is Square always the final face button in these codes? Is it because of Square Enix and Final Fantasy?

@MickD There are too many EU countries where the patch isn't up yet. I waited until today to download from the portuguese store, and still get 1.0. Can you guys check with SCEE what's going on? :(

Fantastic news on the patch and thanks for publishing the new cheat codes!

I'm in the UK and I've just deleted/re-downloaded the game but I still get v1.00 reported in the XMB properties of the game :-(

I take it I should just keep re-trying the download until we get v2.00?

Hey volcane, looks like we might have to wait til next wednesdays update for version 2.0 of the best mini out their to date... what a downer huh. :(

I suppose it gives me more time to (try to) complete Dungeon Explorer.

In the game's previous thread, when I discussed stumbling across the invincibility code (in version 1.00 of the game), I mentioned that I found it while fiddling around with variations on the Konami Code. Curiously, no one seemed interested in pursuing it for themselves (I did not reveal the code). Sure, I can understand not wanting to use the code, but simply figuring out what it was seemed to me like something people would want to do.

I see I'm no longer a tag. So who's "it" now? :)

Yeah. Cheating is a strange thing, but speaking of myself, when I cheat, I still want a bit of a challenge. Just less of one.

Invincibility is lame. What's the point of playing a game when you know your never going to die? Anyone want to make a bet someone says, "Well in...you have god like powers and you never die."? I know someone here has an old import no one has ever heard of and will use it as an example!

I'm an upgrade fiend. I won't stop playing a game until I have fully upgraded any and everything that can be, so the cash cheat was a big juicy steak to me.
