Hey there people,
I\'m just asking, like that, you know? If you could get your hands on the best Space Shooter ever (on whichever console or platform), what would you like to see in it?
Shoot away!

I tend to prefer more tactical options, like the Force in R-Type, the Options and power-up meter in Gradius, the Burst Cannon in DariusBurst. Also, I\'m partial to levels having walls, and a good boss rush or two is always fun.
I think it would be cool to be able to level up your ship. Kinda like a shooter with RPG elements. Earn XP and upgrade ship with storyline to boot.
Interesting.
And if you\'ve played ASSF2B, what were your top three features and what would have you done otherwise? Did anything bug you in particular?
Top three:
Upgrades
Humor
Achievements
I dont think anything bugged me. Except when I finished it. Lol
Top 3 features:
- slickness of presentation
- final boss fight
- the shop
The inertia really bugged me, but I think Frima\'s heard enough from me about that. :) Thanks again for the no-inertia cheat, by the way. Also, I was rather disappointed with the whole cast being unlikable. I understand the intent, but it was like having a screen full of overactive clowns and no Charlie Chaplin. Or maybe like The Simpsons with no Lisa.
There is already a Best Space Shooter ever and it\'s called Tie Fighter.
1. It was pretty easy to pick up and get through. Which isn\\\'t something alot of shooters can say.
2. I actually enjoyed it. Which isn\\\'t something I can say about many shooters.
3. Humor was fantastic!
If you\'re fishing for our thoughts on what should happen with More ASS for 2 Bucks!, Keep everything as is. Just add the no-inertia cheat again, to keep, you know who, from going on about it!
It also wouldn\\\'t hurt to let us customize the ship. I can picture it now, 2 laser cannons on the side of my ship... Heavenly.
Or have the inertia thing in the option menu for us to toggle on/off.
I didn\'t want to edit my last post again. Stupid slashes.
Like the O-man said, have an option to toggle the inertia on or off would be the best. Personally, I really like the whole inertia thing... I tried the cheat to turn it off and didn\'t like it. Any other ideas I had have already been covered. ;)
@O
Dude, you are the best at naming this game. \"More\" ASS for $2...!? Are you kidding me? That\'s classic dude. Frima, pay close attention to this guy. He\'s on to something.
But seriously, thanks for asking for our feedback. In case you haven\'t noticed, we love Devs who do that.
Haha, we actually got a good laugh out of the More Ass for 2 Bucks title. That\'s pretty awesome.
You guys are giving us a bunch of great suggestions, really. And Chaos, I\'d say that even though this community is not the biggest, it really gives pertinent and thoughtful feedback on our work, which is worth a lot to us. So we equally love you. ;)
I\'m super happy to see all this involvement, you really make my day.
One other scrolling shooter element that I like, but whose name I couldn\'t remember earlier, is the Battleship Raid stage, where the entire stage is the boss, which you destroy piece by piece. It\'s apparently a recurring element in R-Type games, and Darius Gaiden has it in Titanic Lance.
ChaosRandom, regarding the shooter-plus-RPG thing, look into WayForward\'s Sigma Star Saga for the GBA. Also, I hear The Guardian Legend for the NES was the first such game.
This is for Freelance: \"Superb hunting, Alpha One! Secret Mission Objectives complete! The Emperor will be pleased!\" I never did finish all of TIE Fighter (though I did beat X-Wing and both its expansions).
I wouldve liked to have been able to see what the weapons later upgrades were. I held off on the Hellfire Cannon for a while because I didnt realize it would clear enemy bullets as well.
Also, more smaller upgrades would have been nice, such as breaking the missile upgrades into single shot improvements, adding firing rate upgrades so I could stop button mashing (my thumb was getting seriously sore), smaller increases to the power up duration as well.
An upgrade to improve the frequency of powerups, possibly by each power up.
Would`ve been sweet to have been able to see the upgrades on the ship as well. A simple flyby at the start of each level to see the ship in detail before the minor graphic changes would be lost.
A Space Shooter for 2 bucks was and still is one of my favorite minis to date. The 3 things I liked most about this game were: Loads of humorous dialog who\'s voice-acting was delivered quite well, the item shop for purchasing upgrades, and the varied personalities that the characters had. As an added bonus: I also enjoyed the Megaman-style layout of the game, wherein one could choose to do the stages in any order, and defeating one of the main bosses would grant the player that enemy\'s weapon.
Some things I might have done differently include the following: a separate button for firing missiles, and I would second the firing-rate upgrade as well.
everything thats already said is fine, i just want a cinema or something so i can rewatch the fun scenes again, breaking the 4th wall is also a good way to add some humor and such.
i only have portable gaming systems (3ds and psp), so i have no iphone,ipad,ps3,xbox... but i would be happy to see the \"best space shooter ever\" for nintendo 3ds/ds integrated with touchscreen gameplay, i mean you can trigger one of the 5 special weapons immediately without having to scroll down weapon selections through L/R buttons...
anyway, i\'d like also to share what i really like about the game:
1. Awesomeness! of everything (sound, visuals, characters) - the humour, the voice acting while playing the game like \"Hell Yeah!\" and \"Sweeeeeeet!\" - love those moments
2. Survival - the mode i\'ve been looking for in every pspminis! great for a timekiller! i wish the bosses after each section could be randomize because i\'ve been playing the survival mode a lot of times, and the chronological order of bosses sometimes don\'t suspense me anymore XD
3.Upgrades and the real price - pretty cool! and it is really easy to enjoy a game if paying for that game isn\'t that much a burden.
one thing that just bothers me a bit is the color of the fireworks subweapon, it has color orange in visuals right? sometimes i go into \"matrix mode\" and being able to see only one color which is orange, so all i have to do is hold X-button and turn to matrix mode dodging all those orange bullets, so fireworks subweapon usually confuses my matrix mode, i wish it could be in just color blue visuals (same as my firing color) - just an opinion.
the firework did get distracting, but the bullets look different than enemy bullets.
It would have been nice if there were a quick select format for the special abilites. If the controls were locked to the analog stick the d-pad could be special weapon selection. The unused face buttons could be mapped to whichever ability you use the most, and then hitting the dpad could select your alternate special weapon. This would be a problem for the weapon energy pickup though.
Sorry for the delay, things have been pretty hectic here with our holiday release on mobile platforms. Check it out if you haven\'t yet. It\'s up and running for Android devices, iOS is undergoing the App Store approval process, and... dun dun dun! It will be available on Xperia PLAY as well.
I\'m really enthusiastic about all of your suggestions and comments and honestly - I am extremely thrilled because you guys have no idea what\'s coming along and I think it will hit right on the spot. ;)
Also, if you had any suggestions related to the storyline, characters or general layout, go ahead.
Don\'t forget you can always reach me through Twitter (@gestonge) or via Facebook on our Space Shooter fanpage or Commander\'s own personal Facebook page.

Bonus: Some Commander P. Jefferson holiday artwork!
you think the commander would have a bigger gun, but still awesome!
But how could he hold his milk and cookie otherwise!
thats what robot servants are for, and maybe Jenna.
Genius.
thank you sir. :D
Even though we all know there are no girls on the internet, you may call me miss.
thank you miss!!! :D
its hard to tell, we only have like one girl on this community so i went into auto pilot
Heh, no problem. ;)
that also means i will always remember...
hmmm. the commander could always go into some portal and end up in the Lost galaxy or something, the idea came to me when i remembered Power rangers lost galaxy, the Lost galaxy looks rather colorful, impossible to manuver in (no clue as to where ya going!) sounds like a good challenge for our commander Jefferson! pretty sure he go crazy and kills all the aliens and whatnots in there and then blast his way out of the Lost galaxy.
@ sniper712
\"you think the commander would have a bigger gun\"
That\'s because you can\'t see the Sub-Atomic Gatling Pulse Assault Rifle strapped to his right leg... standard issue. :P
although any gun from the commander is sure to pack a whallop...
