That way it'll save us the time of having to start a new topic every time we want the communities opinion on a game. Has anyone here played Magna Carta 2? I keep passing by a new copy at Walmart for $15 and I'm always tempted to buy it, but I've read a lot of reviews pretty much calling it lackluster at best. I've looked up videos on YouTube and I like the visual style of the game, and the gameplay looks a lot better than what I've heard. But even at just $15, I don't need another game I'll never beat. The game is the brainchild of one of our new artists, a captain <a href="http://www.openemotionstudios.com/about/james-sharkey/">James Sharkey</a>. I am working closely with Sharkey to give the game really fun game design mechanics and tons of content to boot... Sharkey has some concepts done and we have settled on a similar visual style to <a href="http://edmundmcmillen.blogspot.com/2011/07/binding-of-isaac-coming-to-steam.html">The Binding of Isaac</a> by the awesome Ed McMillen. The game should be released around October/November and will feature a whole lot of Characters, Blood, Gore, Inappropriate behaviour and fun... Also Zombies... it will most definitely contain Zombies. Here's what's coming, July 19th: Guerilla War* Athena* HAL 21* Ikari Warriors* Marvin's Maze* Sasuke vs. Commander* Ozma Wars Vanguard The 6 titles with asterisks are games that were part of the recent, Japan/Asia-only SNK Arcade Classics Vol. 0. With 6 of the collection's 20 games being released as standalone Minis, I guess we aren't likely going to see Vol. 0 itself getting a release in the West. Of the 2 no-asterisk games, Ozma Wars is SNK's first game (and its Wikipedia entry also notes it's the first video game with disparate levels, as well as the first to use a life bar mechanic), and Vanguard is one of the first scrolling shooters (it scrolled both vertically and horizontally). The same Store update will add 2 SNK NeoGeo titles, Baseball Stars 2 and KoF '95, presumably to the NeoGeo sections of the Store--however, the blog post only notes what looks like a PS3 price, so I can't tell if the titles are coming to the NeoGeo section for the PSP. The SNK Minis will normally be priced at $3 each, but PS+ subscribers (such as those of us who activated our free 30 days late in the availability period!) will get Guerilla Wars as a subscription-time freebie and all the other titles at 20% off, a savings of 60 cents each. I'm already backlogged even just on Minis, but thanks to the PS+ discount bit, I think I'll be jumping on the shoot'em-ups in the set: Ozma Wars, HAL 21, Sasuke vs. Commander, and Vanguard. I'm playing it now and I'm blown away by it. The puzzles have the potential to be insanely difficult, the game had to be patched in Japan because of that, but there's an easy mode to select in the demo and full game, which I have no shame in admitting is what I'm playing it on! It's a dungeon crawler that was developed by Type-Moon, the same folks that developed <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/04/28/capcom-bringing-fate-unlimited-codes-to-us-as-psn-exclusive/">Fate/unlimited codes</a>, a pretty solid fighting game that I play on a regular basis. In all honesty, I didn't know enough people in the states cared enough about Fate for anyone to want to release Extra outside of Japan, I've never seen the anime or watched/read the visual novel myself. I guess Aksys Games knows otherwise. I just wish somebody would bring Evangelion Jo over here. Imports are too expensive for my cheap tastes.
