@thumbbandit

Excuse me to correct you, but Vector TD was published by CandyStand but the Mini Port was done by Frima. Same thing with Brainpipe, published by Hands On but ported to Minis by Frima.

@MickD
Actualy, I was right all along, Vector TD was developed by CandyStand, I don't know off hand who developed Brainpipe, but I know for a FACT it wasn't Frima.
Frima is a PUBLISHER and developer.
Your bad! ;)

P.S. If you think I got this wrong, just check the new game database on this site... if i'm wrong, then they're wrong too.

@thumbbandit

Frima actually developed those:

Brainpipe
Zombie Tycoon
Vector TD
Widget Odyssey 1
Widget Odyssey 2
Young Thor

Some were not published by them (like VectorTD and Brainpipe) but they developed all of them.

Frima didn't produce Vector TD, they merely published it, that and Brainpipe.
The minis Frima have prouced to date are...
Zombie Tycoon
Widget's Odyssey
Young Thor
If I got this wrong, let me know. ;)

Young Thor really has raised the bar for minis, just think what the game would have been like had they used the full 100 meg, as is the game is awesome in the true sense of the word.
This is a great game, I keep having to remind myself that this game cost me 4 quid (£4) on the day of release. ;)

P.S. ThumblessHamster, I beat Hel at level 70.

I had problems with that and to be honest, i'm still not confident I can dodge them all every time, but here's what I do...run to the end of the stage, doesn't matter which, as soon as you can control Thor again, the first fireball usually drops where you were when you started controlling Thor again. The fire balls tend to fall along the path you ran, now run towards the fireballs on the ground, and this is where it gets tricky.

Single jump just before you get to the fire on the ground, but don't get the maximum height from the single jump, about half the maximum height is what I do. Make sure your moving Thor forward as your jumping, as soon as your at the end of the fire trial, it's usually about 2 fireballs long, and you should still be airborne, tap the jump button again and double jump, while still moving forward. If you do it right, you'll dodge both the falling fireballs, and the fire on the ground. Finally, run to the opposite end of where you were, when you started that process, and repeat until the fireballs stop.

Sorry, if that's confusing, but that's the only thing i've found that works, but again, I still manage to get hit sometimes.

Ofaliss, any tips on dodging the dragon's fireballs? That meteor shower thing he does can wipe out half my health if I don't dodge well, and they almost seem to track you when you move.

Thanks, i'll give it a try. I rarely use the triangle button! Also, after reading the achievement over, you can take damage from the dragon, just not his fire attacks, I finally got that one, now i'm just repeatedly fighting Hel, so I can completely memorize her attacks, that way, ill have no problem dodging her daggers and magic. Once I do that, the only achievements I have left are the birds, and getting to level 99, i'm 91 at the moment.

The birds are easy to take out if you do the X+/\(hold) attack. The one where Thor spins in midair. I discovered he keeps spinning as long as you hold the button until you hit the ground, so it's great for airborne enemies.

Solo, I don't normally get this excited about a game, but I really think Frima's got the right idea with Young Thor. Minis like this bring customer loyalty as people figure out which companies are actually trying to provide good quality. After this and Zombie Tycoon, it's pretty much a given that when Frima releases something, I'm buying it.

Lord Rushton, it is a sidescrolling platformer brawler. Like every other sidescrolling platform brawler ever made, when you're done, there isn't much to do except replay levels just for fun. Young Thor makes it a bit more interesting by providing achievements and dictionary entries that you can unlock by meeting certain conditions. If that doesn't thrill you, then the answer to your question is, I suppose, 'nothing'. This sort of game is meant to be played through, set aside, then picked up again a few weeks or months later and replayed in its entirety. Rather like Mario, or Sonic the Hedgehog, or some games of that nature.

After those, I just have to beat the dragon and Hel, without taking any damage, looking forward to those! Did you find all of Thor's equipment, I know they can be kind of tricky to find, If anyone needs any help, just ask, I found them all.

Though i'm shamed to admit it, that's what I did! I think up until level 55, you gain a level every time you beat the squirrel thing, then it's every 2 fights up to around 60, if I remember correctly. I was 70 when I first beat the dragon, and I had no problems. Even if you manage to beat the dragon at your current level, you won't stand a chance against Hel, I was 81 when I beat her, and she killed me the first time I fought her.

I seriously doubt you'll regret it. And I was trying to defeat the dragon at level 39. I'm not sure, that may be too low. I'm resisting the temptation to cheap-level with Ratatoskr (or however you spell the squirrel's name) since even at level 40 I can kill him in thirty seconds and gain a level each time >.<

I will say, the dragon is the most troublesome boss in the game. Hel does more damage than the other bosses, but her pattern is easy to figure out, and once you do that, it's a pretty easy battle. The dragon's pattern isn't hard to figure out, it's just hard to dodge it's attacks, making the achievement where you take no damage from him, VERY challenging, I haven't been able to do it yet.

The purple squirrel creature was a disappointment. However...the dragon is far more to my taste. Yes, you do fight a dragon. He's a pain. A delicious, delightful pain. Like scratching at a scab. One that breathes fire. And...yeah. That analogy doesn't work.
