For a moment, I thought you were talking about the Time and Eternity LE outer box. Actually, first I thought you were talking about the updated, high-resolution virtual box art being used for Shantae, but then I figured you must mean a physical box.

WARNING!

A HUGE BATTLESHIP
DUST EATER from DOKURO
IS APPROACHING FAST.

For those confused, I'm making reference to the Darius series because Dust Eater is a mechanical fish boss.

Since you're not going to open it, is it as, well, pretty as you had expected?

The original Game Boy Color Shantae is finally getting a definite re-release. It will hit Virtual Console on June 20th. So that's another game I'll be adding to my library whenever I get my WayForward player (I think most people call them "3DS XL"--though the WayForward player is in a color that is not currently available with the North American 3DS XL).

Time and Eternity is finally up for preorder at NIS America's own site. As expected, they have a limited edition exclusive to their store, this time adding an outer box, an art book, a poster, and a CD jewel case to the standard edition's game and soundtrack CD (which is in a paper sleeve in the standard edition), for an extra $15. I'm not sure if my interest in the box and art book is worth $15. Will ponder it some more while keeping an eye on stock levels.

So is it just the UMD (in a case) or is it a cardboard box with a little figure also inside, like in Play-Asia's pictures of what you ordered?

My Dokuro adventure finished last night. I think it counts as extra special how it ended:

1 Platinum Trophy
2 Gold Trophies
3 Silver Trophies

SIMULTANEOUSLY! I've never done anything like that before. It actually isn't quite as hard to do as the way I did it, since my ~42 hours included speedruns in order to see how low I could bring my total time, far below the time-based Trophy requirements (a fair amount of those hours might be from having the game just sitting at a menu screen, FYI). Even after my extra-long (5m58s) first successful run against the final boss, where I was particularly conservative in order to ensure the "beat final boss without taking damage" Trophy, I was still 7 minutes below 150 minutes total! Take THAT, 250-minute Gold Trophy! Eventually, I cut the final boss to 3m19s, but that still ended up being one of only 2 levels where my time was more than the times posted by the writer of the Trophy guide (who did the game in roughly 215 minutes). Both of those were boss fights where the time taken largely depends on which random attacks the boss happens to choose; there are some where you end up simply evading, while others allow you to attack the boss. I did some great shaving of time in other levels, though, including one where I came in nearly 4 full minutes below his time (15-3, which I did in 2m30s).

Trophies and speedrunning aside, the game is a lot (a LOT--147 levels) of enjoyable puzzle-platforming. Levels 4-5 and 4-6 are the hardest to figure out until you get to Stage 15, which has a few mindbenders itself--though two of those levels are not puzzles at all, but rather on-rails survival gauntlets. There isn't a lot of variety to the sounds, music, or visuals, but they're all very effective and distinctive, and you actually do move through several distinct environments (it's just that they all have the same color palette). If you like a good puzzle-platformer, I highly recommend Dokuro.

Incidentally, those 6 simultaneous Trophies pushed my Trophy Level up another 6 percent.

I has already played RF 2 and 3 on DS. I have never played any on consoles. I'd rather get RF 4 though, which is coming out later this year. Right now though, I'm up to my furry ears in farming. I am currently playing HM Back to Nature on Vita, HM Tale of Two Towns on 3DS and HM (the GBC version and also the 2nd game ever) also on the 3DS. I also have that Farming Simulator 2013 on PC which I haven't played for a bit as for some reason it was giving me a headache recently.

For anyone who likes Harvest Moon, I bought Rune Factory Tides of Destiny. It came out on PSN last week and has been out as a physical copy for a couple of years. It works along the same lines as Harvest Moon except with less emphasis on farming and more on combat and crafting. It's an interesting mix for anyone who is looking for something different.

It's just a shame that you're going to leave that figure imprisoned in the box for eternity--then again, I'm not really one to talk.

I'm not sure how someone got hands-on time with Diggs Nightcrawler (PS3 Wonderbook game) so early, but it just reaffirms my interest in the game. I do hope it doesn't hold your hand so much for the whole thing, though.

Oh, wait, the game apparently releases in Europe at the end of this month. I guess this isn't all that early then. North America doesn't get it until "holiday" time, though.

Speaking of Wonderbook, I finally beat Book of Spells. Yes, it's actually very short if you want it to be, but since I enjoyed messing around with the technology, it took several sessions of me borrowing the game to get to its end. Again, probably quite mesmerizing if you're really into Harry Potter. Fun if you like augmented reality toys. If you fit into neither group, it likely won't interest you much at all.

Dude. Sniper is right; I really am a bad influence on you. I mean, it was absurdly easy pushing you into buying that right away. I should start implying I'll get upset if you do things like taking out multiple high-interest loans and investing in pyramid schemes.

The shipping probably wasn't free because it's a larger box than the standard PSP UMD case, due to the kawaii figure. Likely doesn't fit in a bubble mailer.

Eh? Did you edit your post to remove the "AND IT WAS"? Pshaw, no need for such modesty!

I've been pondering getting that as well, especially since the listing claims to include that White Rock Shooter mini-figure. It's basically a standard new (high-end) US game's price for an import game, and without even a tax or shipping charge. Incidentally, that "sale" price has been there for a good while. I wonder if it's a clearance price for a single remaining copy--so if you get that and cause the listing to change to "out of print," I'll be rather upset.

Just put in my order. Shipping wasn't free for some reason. I ended up choosing the FedEx shipping method. It's only a few bucks more than the standard method. Which isn't cheap. I wasn't sure if I was going to buy it because of that, but the a**hole in me was hoping it was the last copy. Logic always loses to the a**hole in me.

The thing with Class of Heroes 2 is that I think people are buying it just because it's rare and from Vic Ireland, not because they have any interest in the game. I've played the original, it's terrible.

My main reasons for buying it are that I really like the "UMD + download copy together" model and that it's one of the last North American UMDs (and yes, I honestly do also have Sweet Fuse: At Your Side preordered). Not really about rarity, and the only Working Designs game I have is Growlanser Generations. While I know of CoH1's poor reputation, the sequel supposedly fixes its predecessor's major problems. My main source of trepidation with the title is that first-person [battle] view RPGs have, in my experience, been even more endless grinds than other RPGs (my experience = Phantasy Star, Dragon Warrior, Unchained Blades).

I'm not really sure how rare anything in my games library is. I do know that used copies of One Piece: Unlimited Adventure and the 3 .hack//GU games are listed in the Amazon Marketplace for higher prices than I paid for them new. Hmm, seems the same is true for my Final Fantasy VI Advance and my GameCube RPGs.

At any rate, I'm sure there are very few copies in the world of Gradius V signed by both the composer and the cover artist. :)

If the sale price on Play-Asia holds until Friday I'm going to import a copy to love and look at.

Here's a taste of what you will most likely miss out on, onmode-ky.

What an oddity, a bunny suit without any bunny ears.

I say you'll miss out on it because rarely in those walls of text do you ever say you finished a game.

I have a very poor track record with finishing RPGs. The most recent one would be Ys I Chronicles--which is supposed to be short. I think part of the problem is that I get tied up with inventories and managing what I should keep and what I should get rid of. After ~40 hours of One Piece: Unlimited Adventure, played over several years, I've only made it through 18% of the game, according to the save file. I got about 50 hours into Final Fantasy V (on an emulator) 10+ years ago, with the end also seemingly far off.

Still, I'm coming close to finishing Dokuro. Not an RPG, but anyway, 10 levels left, and if my completion times stay good, I really will come in speedrunning everything in under 150 minutes total (and utterly destroying that 250-minute Gold Trophy mark). If Balrog is around: levels 4-5 and 4-6 are, in my opinion, the hardest levels out of everything I've seen, up through 15-1. Anyway, I hope the last 10 levels aren't too bad. Supposedly, I've already done the hardest thing in the game Trophy-wise (BEGIN SPOILER), surviving the boss rush stage without taking any damage. I had to restart several times due to some frustrating minor damage from the third and fourth bosses, but the WORST cause of restart was when I got hurt DURING THE LAST CUTSCENE because I was apparently moving the character into an enemy while he (my guy) was off camera! END SPOILER

I've been told I was adorabibble. I think it's because I'm so got dang charismatic. My laptop is acting like it has terminal cancer lately, so I need to start saving for a new one. So maybe I'll end up with one that can run some games without bursting into flames.

Yeah, I can play the stand still and whack sort of MMORPGs fine. But my latency is half a second on a good day, so if there is a lot of movement or action involved, it doesn't work so well. And on a bad day it's like 1.2 seconds. Somehow LOTRO still plays fine at that, but most other games don't.

I also just tried Ragnarok II, but that's really ugly.

What makes Rift less action-y? Is it the whole 'stand still and whack whack enemies' type of gameplay? Also, you no hasta be adorabibble to be a ferret. Only I need to be.

Yeah, I really should have just asked you. But I think Dan plays them sometimes.

I'm not adorabibble enough to play a ferret, but beyond that, I can't really play Tera because of the combat system it uses. I have slow internet, and can't play action-y games.

I'd rather you play Tera. You can be a ferret and it's also free now.

P.S. Not many ppl in these forums play PC games, you know. You're the only one I know of, besides me, that actually plays them.

Anyone play Rift? With it going "free", I thought I would check it out. Even though I hate F2P games I hate subscription games worse.

And I'm right back at it. I didn't feel right just ending it with no items, so I farmed some. I'm done now though. Here's a taste of what you will most likely miss out on, onmode-ky.

I say you'll miss out on it because rarely in those walls of text do you ever say you finished a game. Not one that isn't a SHMUP or some random game nobody else really gives much thought about. BTW, that 9999HP crap from the tutorial level is exactly that. What you see in that picture is her max HP and max stats when all of her passive skills are turned on, and her strongest cannon equipped. Why hold our hands that much in a tutorial level is beyond me. It actually does more harm than good.

I saved my save file on my laptop and now I can move on to something new. What, I don't know. I'm taking a break from Soul Sacrifice for a little bit, it has become too repetitive for my taste.
