Yeah, I can see your point Chris. But, to play devil's advocate, sometimes a game has potential but is flawed. If the game has some sales success, but maybe not alot, and is hit hard by reviews that point out it's flaws, the developer is more likely to develop a sequel/followup and attempt to address those flaws to expand the audience. (I'm looking at you, Scribblenauts) If the title doesn't sell at all, then the developer might not get a chance to make another game.

On the other hand, if a game is totally worthless (ever play the PSP title "Pocket Pool"?) Then I believe it shouldn't be supported at all.

To sum it up: Flawed effort=maybe worth support, piss-poor effort=don't ever make another game again please.

But that's just my opinion.

Yeah I don't really think twice buying a game for $1 to $2 dollars.

But I do regret it when it's a bad game, not for the lose of money, but for giving the money to a developer who doesn't deserve it. That's like rewarding bad behaviour in a child. You don't want them to make money because their game was cheap, but because their game was good. If we give them money and they don't deserve it they won't learn there lesson and will continue making cheap, bad games. </rant>

Hmm, I like that. David is right- although none of the games seem to be ground breaking, for such a price, it seems very worthwhile.

I'm with you on that Chris. I don't see any of those titles he mentioned as "must buys" but it will be nice to have some cheap simple games if they are entertaining. Looking at the launch titles here in the US, there are currently none cheaper than $5 USD. Sony is essentially charging a premium over what many of these games would go for on the iPhone.

I don't mind spending $2 on a title that gives me at least an hour of amusement, I'm lucky if I can find a place to park my car for less than that.

Interesting read. In another interview they stated that there 30 games would be priced between $1.50 and $2.50.

After watching those videos I can see why they are going for the low price point. There doesn't look to be much depth in those games. Not that I require depth for a fun experience, but I can't say I'm hanging out for those titles. Maybe I will be happily surprised.

The EU Playstation Blog has a nice post by Prakash Ahuja, the CEO of GamaShastra Studios. He details a few of their upcoming minis (including D-Cube, and others) and reveals that they are currently developing 30 games for the PSP!

Head on over to the link for screenshots and video:
