Beyond the Horizon is our weekly look at games coming out sometime in the future. Perhaps this week? Perhaps next month? We don’t really know when they are due out (in many cases, neither does the developer), but we do know they are in the works.
If we are missing any titles or information, let us know!
- Miko gakkou monogatari: Sanae episode – Xinoro (Visual Novel in English. Releasing worldwide? (Japanese version already released in Japan))
Cardboard Castle – Mando Productions/AMAStudio (Puzzle Game, released this week)
- Cytus Lambda – Rayark (Rhythm Game, releasing late June)
- Seeker – Tim Collins/Liquid Games (Fly through an asteroid field and capture pylons, submitted to Store. Releasing in US, Canada, Japan, UK, Australia)
- Runner – Tim Collins/Liquid Games (Fly through a tunnel and avoid pylons, submitted to Store. Releasing in US, Canada, Japan, UK, Australia)
Laughing Jackal’s Vita-native remake of OMG-Z, OMG HD Zombies, finally has a release date of June 19th in Europe.
Besides better graphics, this version also has Trophies, leaderboards and touch controls. I’m also not sure if the released version of the game will have an exclamation point at the end of the name or not. Previous posts from Laughing Jackal about the game had one, but this one doesn’t.
Rayark posted a trailer for their PlayStation Mobile game, Cytus Lambda. Apparently it was actually on the PSN Store and ready for release, but they decided to delay the official release until June 26th so as to promote it more and hopefully take advantage of any boost in popularity the Vita might gain at E3.
Anyway, it’s a music rhythm game, apparently like the DJ Max series.
Exclusively on PlayStation®Mobile, the most awesome music game Cytus Lambda
-Whole new chapter Prologue LIVE, represents 10 exclusive songs to play now
-Upon one-time purchase of the full version, future updates of chapters totally free of charge
- 70+ songs and 140+ variations, including many from famous composers around the world
(thanks to StarCreator of NeoGaf for the trailer link)
“Miko gakkou monogatari: Sanae hen” apparently translates to something like “Shrine Maiden School Story: Sanae [Chapter],” with Sanae presumably being the main character in this chapter, and later editions focusing on the other shrine maidens. It’s a visual novel from Xinoro that was released in Japan a while ago on PlayStation Mobile but is now getting a release worldwide in English soon.
(thanks to onmode-ky for spotting this, and for the translation of the title)
No word when, exactly, but it’s in the final stages of development, so probably sometime this summer.
Although it’s been available in Europe for quite some time now, the Vita-native version of one of my favorite Minis, Flying Hamster, is finally being released in North America next week on June 11th.
I’m not sure of the changes beyond the higher resolution, but presumably it has Trophies and such.
