HoleRoll

I try not to read the official PlayStation Blog, as I get mad and leave angry comments. But thankfully O does and spotted this post about four Chillingo games coming to PS Mobile.

Feed Me Oil, a squid-based puzzle game. $1.49, launching June 26th

iBomber Defense, a tower defense game. $2.79, launching on July 10th

Roll in the Hole, a panda-based puzzle platformer. $1.49, launching on July 24th

Little Acorns, a squirrel-based platformer. $1.49, launching on August 7th

Two of the games are more expensive than their Android counterparts, but Roll in the Hole is actually 50 cents cheaper. Little Acorns is not on Android but is on the 3DS eShop, and is quite a bit more expensive there.

This is an upcoming puzzle game for PS Mobile from Stinky Badger Games, ported from XBLIG. I have no idea what is happening in the video, but it looks pretty fun.

Apparently it’s already been submitted to the Store and is “preparing for release,” which likely means it will be out in a week or two.

HermitCrabsSpaceSubmitted

Golden Ruby’s space shooter, Hermit Crab in Space, has just been submitted to the PS Mobile Store. Generally speaking, that means a release in 2-3 weeks, assuming it passes certification.

I believe it was the overall winner of the game jam contests that Sony has held at various indie game festivals. So, it should be pretty good. If not, well, at least it’s not another running game. Though one with a crab would be a twist over the typical cute animals.

If nothing else, you can admire the work ethic of Thomas Hopper and TACS Games.

It looks to be another Game Boy-styled game, like his upcoming Sea Run.

SwordRapier20kdownloads

The action-RPG from vDog has 20,000 downloads. Of course, that’s for the free trial of the first level, so the question is how many people actually bought the rest of the game?

Still, compare it to 10,000 downloads of Penguin Party, which was almost entirely free. Clearly, Vita owners prefer RPGs over penguin-themed puzzle games.

This is mostly in Japanese, but Sony of Japan put up an interview with the developers of the excellent PS Mobile title Forevolution. I say mostly, because apparently Pygmy Studio imported a hipster to work for them, and he answers the questions in English.
