BreakQuest: Extra Evolution Announced
Prolific Minis publisher Beatshapers revealed one of their upcoming titles in the August issue of the Australian Official PlayStation Magazine. After much suspense, it turns out to be a sequel to their first Mini, BreakQuest, entitled “BreakQuest: Extra Evolution.”
BreakQuest was a port of an excellent Breakout/Arkanoid clone with a hundred different levels. BreakQuest: Extra Evolution seems to be an entirely original game based on BreakQuest.
Update: Subtitle changed from “Ever Evolved” to “Extra Evolution,” per Beatshapers’ comment.
I usually don’t give these type of games a second look, but I really like how this looks visually. It looks like what you would see in Sound Shapes.
Jeremy, please change the name to BreakQuest: Extra Evolution, that was working title.

I’ve updated the game’s title as displayed in the post. Personally, though, I like “Ever Evolved” more, probably because of the ‘v’ alliteration.
Yeah, I like it better too. Extra evolution sounds like it’s grown a 6th finger or third eye or something.

I would get fancy and call it Carnivores: Ne Plus Ultra
Which is essentially a fancy phrase for saying it’s as far as it can go in terms of quality.

Originally was going to be the name of the company Wile E Coyote bought things from, but that didn’t fit on the box, so they went with Acme instead.

Carnivores: Extreme Evolved actually sounds pretty cool to me. And I do agree that BreakQuest: Ever Evolved was pretty freaking sweet.

Going with the alliteration thing, I’m pitching “BreakQuest: Brazen BreakFest.”
One thing I hate is when games have a one (or two) word titles that could be anything.
Like the latest game from Insomniac is now named Fuse
Does that tell you anything at all about the game? I would guess it would be a Kaboom clone, or possibly one of those Pipemania type of games.
While Carnivores. isn’t as vague as that, it doesn’t tell you it’s a dinosaur hunting game. It could be a Pac-Man clone where you run around eating hamsters instead of pills, just going by the name.
Damn it! Ever Evolved seems pretty bad ass! *Sigh*
