Upcoming—Nom Nation Trailer
This is actually a bit old, but it was only recently confirmed to be a Mini. It seems to be some sort of educational game, produced by Playerthree, makers of Rumble Trucks and Apache Overkill, and due out in mid-May.
Despite the educational (and somewhat crude) nature of the game, it seems to be a pretty decent platformer.

Wait… How is this educational, again?
Hmmm, maybe I’m wrong about that part, but I thought it was sponsored by some government TV channel in Britain about the dangers of fast food or something.
The only danger of fast food I know of is that those Doritos Locos Tacos are as addictive as freaking crack.
Yeh, channel 4, the people responsible for great shows like Father Ted, Black Books and The I.T. Crowd to to but three. The game looks sweet, in a nice retro sort of way.
Sorry left the word ‘name’ out in the above… damn you dyslexia for striking again.
Want!!! love that retro feel
Ha!
“Nom Nation was developed to help 14-19 year olds learn more about food, nutrition, a balanced diet and the effects that food can have on your body. The Noms represent real foods and they have energy, fats, vitamins & mineral content based upon accurate data.
Playerthree worked closely with Dr Beckie Lang, a Public Health Nutritionist and expert on nutrition and obesity to provide guidance on the common food myths and what are the biggest areas of concern for healthy eating amongst the target audience.”
Who’d have thought?
Anyway, the game doesn’t look overly educational. If it gets across some good points without being too preachy, then all the better.
Reminds me of an old Fam game about a penguin losing weight so his girl will fall in love with him again. Check it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HLo9SqcnTSk
