Upcoming—Fighting Fantasy: The Warlock of Firetop Mountain

the-warlock-of-firetop-mountain-2a8tbzwLaughing Jackal isn’t done yet converting the Fighting Fantasy gamebooks to the Minis program. After Fighting Fantasy: Talisman of Death, Laughing Jackal will now bring the first book of the series, Fighting Fantasy: The Warlock of Firetop Mountain, onto an electronic platform. This will not be the first time that The Warlock of Firetop Mountain has been converted as a video game. In 2009, this title appeared on the DS as an Action-RPG. However, as a Mini, this game will follow the same path as Talisman of Death, with the following improvements:

Due to the feedback we’ve been receiving from you guys, we have made several changes to the game since Fighting Fantasy: Talisman of Death, including:
The Log Book now remembers which book you were in (Character, Item or Page)
The user can now return to the top of the page by pressing the up button when the first option is highlighted
A ‘Good’ generic alignment portrait added to Character Bios
A new mini game has been added to the end of the quest

It also came out on Amazon’s e-reader, the Kindle, earlier this year.

I was kind of hoping we would see more later FF games, like Talisman of Death was. For one, because I haven’t seen/played most of them. But they also seem to have been designed better, in terms of story and difficulty and background

Hope they do other books like Forest of Doom, Citadel of Chaos and City of Thieves.

Spent many an afternoon kicking back with these books, after school… Man that was such a long time ago :S
